Maslina Resort fuses classic Mediterranean styles with contemporary French touches, respecting the nature already in place as the foundation of the design philosophy. To cultivate the same feeling the designers had upon first visiting Maslinica Bay, native and local species are used to maintain the landscape language already in place, where wild Mediterranean vegetation thrives thanks to thick Aleppo pines, mature olive trees, and fragrant herb bushes. The landscape is linked with the colors of the materials, which are all natural and locally-sourced.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic hotel for three nights in early October. We were originally nervous about services slowing down given they were ending their season in about a week but were pleasantly surprised to experience none of that. From check-in to check-out we felt well taken care of with all staff friendly and eager to help. This is a true luxury resort with fantastic service in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. It feels very peaceful and remote while still being very close to Stari-Grad (easily walkable or they provide a free on-demand shuttle). We rented a car for a day and drove all around the island visiting remote towns and of course exploring Hvar Town. After experiencing Hvar Town we were pleased with our choice to stay a bit farther away from the hustle and bustle and crowds. We ate one dinner at Terra Restaurant and it was very good. We also enjoyed the elevated craft cocktail selection at the bar. The pools are beautiful and while it was too windy to enjoy while we were there, the loungers set on the rocks overlooking the Adriatic would have been a unique place to catch some sun. We received a complimentary room upgrade and it was beautiful. The view, the room amenities, everything felt very clean, classy and top-notch. We did not use the spa at all but it looked like it would have been great. The gym was small but fairly functional. We had one hiccup with the complimentary wine-tasting offering (a great feature by the way!), it was not made clear that you must make a reservation to participate so when we went to the restaurant to join we were informed they were full up. However, when they realized the mistake (we were not the only guests who were disappointed by this), the manager went above and beyond to apologize several times, assured us they had learned from this and comped some cocktails for us. Overall I would not hesitate to return again if we ever find ourselves on Hvar and would recommend to anyone!

Pros and Cons of Maslina Resort Pros: • The resort is beautiful in a minimalist, contemporary way, and the spa is truly exceptional — one of the highlights of our stay. The treatments were excellent and the staff throughout the property were friendly, attentive, and professional. • The location is gorgeous, set right by the water with a scenic 25-minute walk along the sea to town. If you prefer not to walk, the complimentary hotel shuttle is a nice touch. • Overall, the property itself and the service both feel worthy of a five-star rating. Cons: • While the room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable, as were the crisp linens, the room itself wasn’t especially comfortable or practical. There’s very little storage, so we ended up living out of our suitcases. The seating area wasn’t inviting, with only two hard chairs that made it hard to relax. I will add that every space was well cared for and very clean. • The bathroom looked nice but wasn’t designed for ease of use — there’s almost no counter space, the lighting is quite dim, and noise from the hallway and guests above was noticeable. • These small details added up and made the room experience feel more like a 4-star stay, even though the rest of the resort delivered on a 5-star level. I’ll also note that the resort and surrounding area were winding down for the season, and I was initially worried we might not experience the full range of services. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything still felt fresh, welcoming, and fully operational. Having weighed all the pros and cons, I would return to this property.

Top notch hotel. 2 Pools were beautiful and overlooked ocean. The poke bowl lunch cafe on beach Was delicious ! U can even sit on a canal a on ocean on the rocks. We stayed one night in Hvar but then 3 nights at this exquisite hotel. It is a 35 -40 min drive to Hvar where all the action is, also a 50 euro change. ….however , from hotel you can walk to Stari Grad a very beautiful and bustling town for dinner, the vibe is not as chaotic. They also provide a free shuttle service to town. Great to relax and the service was amazing. Room beautiful and food delish. Breakfast was order style, not buffet. The hotel could not do enough for u!

What a beautiful island and resort!! So clean and relaxing, steps down the villa straight into the clear blue waters of the sea for a fresh swim, very stoney and rocky so take beach shoes. Villa room service was excellent. Only disappointed was breakfast. Food was lovely but service was so sloooooow. First day - 25 mins to be asked what we wanted, second day better but then 25 mins for coffee/juice to arrive. Staff seem pleasant but the breakfast system seems incredibly slow. On the whole a wonderful experience.

Words cannot express how wonderful my family and I have found the Maslina. “Mindful Luxury” is the motto and while this could sound pretentious the resort isn’t pretentious at all. Every detail has been attended to thoughtfully. Batu at the front desk is a special person and helped make our stay memorable. He recommended restaurants, made reservations and assisted with taxi’s and advice as well as being genuinely lovely and thoughtful with our children. All the staff are a real credit and nothing seems too much or troublesome to them. There are 2 delightful, heated pools with ample, comfy loungers, cushions and towels. There are bathing platforms build into the sea. There are private cabanas on the beach. Gym was brilliant with modern, brand new equipment and a stunning view. The rest of the wellness centre was also wonderful. The morning yoga was a true practice with an experienced instructor and my massage was incredible. There are a wide variety of fitness / wellness classes on offer. Our suite was outstanding with the most comfortable beds, outstanding sea views, fully stocked complimentary mini bars, French press coffee, robes, Japanese bath, rainfall shower etc etc. I can’t list everything! I’d be here all day. Finally the breakfast was truly amazing- as you’d expect from the Maslina!
