Returning Customers

Warmly welcomed by Antonio who was so helpful throughout our trip! So friendly! The room had a spectacular view! The room was cleaned daily, when returning back from breakfast, fresh crisp sheets and bath towels. On an evening, chocolates left on our pillows. Lots of variety at breakfast! The waitresses were very attentive! Around the pool, always managed to get a sun lounger! The pool staff were very friendly offering complementary fruit kebabs! The clarins spa was lovely, I had a massage and it was the perfect treat! We are returning customers, I must say there has some investment back into the hotel! New furnishings which the hotel needed, the staff were A* Ignore the negative feedback we had a fantastic holiday at Aguas!

Premeditated misrepresentation - not grand luxe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Looking for a five-star vacation with a three-in-ten chance of suffocating in heat? Look no further! This hotel masterfully combines a 40% roulette wheel of zero air conditioning, absolute WiFi blackout, and the soothing, sleep-deprived lullaby of up to 75-decibel portable AC unit running 24/7. Add in a dash of total security neglect and management treating your complaint like spam mail then you’ve got yourself the ideal hotel de Fawlty.

Sad to see the hotel service really deteriorated

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The actually hotel itself is still very nice, have been multiple times previously. However the service was really poor, massive change of experience versus previous stays. I had a room overlooking a very noisy construction site, no warning of this and they said no rooms to move me to despite others complaining and being moved. Then after four nights I complained again , then then tried to charge me extra to change rooms as was a bigger room, which was infuriating. In the end they moved me without charge for my last three nights. The room was nice but whole experience was super unpleasant for an expensive hotel. Then at checkout depite pre paying for everything including taxes, they charged a further daily tourist tax which I think they lied about to increase my bill. As my previous and next hotel didn’t have any ‘tourist tax on top’. Also tried to charge me for beverages hadn’t consumed. Never come away from a hotel stay so upset by the experience. Sad as it used to be one of my favourite hotels.

A few hiccups - great stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Not the best start, but redeemed. This was our 4th time at Aguas, we arranged for a corner sea-view, but we’re given a room at the rear overlooking the current construction site. Even the reception team on check-in said you have a room with a sea view. After an hour of back n forth we spoke to a manager. After 2 nights we were moved. Lots of apologies and some extras offered. A big thank you to Cyril and Yaiza who sorted all this out. We have 2 children with allergies; nut and dairy - the hotel is not well equipped for this and the staff aren’t well trained. We had to send food back a few times in both restaurants, due to there being butter or cream. But a HUGE shout out to Jo and Dayana from the breakfast catering staff, so understanding and helpful - thank you. Facilities are still great for the kids, Sophie in kids club was just great, they loved her. Overall a really good stay.

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Not great. The helpful staff were overworked and lacked support. The unhelpful ones didn’t care. Despite emails to general manager. No acknowledgement of the issues. Service around the pool was awful, roof restaurant was bad, only one guy able to check guests in and other staff standing around with no apparent purpose. Room design was terrible and aircon didn’t work properly. Overall disappointing.
