This is the most upsetting holiday experience I have ever had. We have never been treated soo badly. When we arrived they promptly too the 300 euro deposit towards costs during our stay. 2 hours later while waiting for 3pm check in, the reception manager came over to us and accused us of cancelling our booking in December and not paying. I showed him all my correct paperwork and he said words similar to " that is not my concern if you want your room for the week you have to pay 4800 euros" He was blunt and not prepared to check anything his end. I rang my travel agent who after a period of time sorted this. It turned out it was the hotels computer software that was at fault. We were kept waiting again while they got our room ready. We were not offered any water just kept baking in the hotel reception When we eventually got in our room, the floor was filthy and the soles of my feet were dusty in no time! The toilet seat was sticky. Our small wardrobe in our Junior Seaview suite has no shelves, and the room has no drawers! We were given 6 coat hangers between us! The phone for room service was out of order. We got over it and had a nice day by the pool etc. When we got home in the evening I had recieved another email from the hotel. They thanked me for paying the deposit and asked for another 3000 euros! Again my travel agent had to sort this for me. Eventually I got an email apologising for the hotel computer error, and all the other issues I had encountered. This time I sent an email asking for confirmation my hotel was fully paid for before we arrived. I got this, and was told my complaint had been sent to senior management and they were going to contact me personally! We have heard nothing!!! Yesterday for some reason the hand soap and dispenser were removed from our bath room! I have twice asked reception for more and it has not appeared. Surely the cleaner would have spotted this missing today. This is not everything we have had 2 deal with but the first 2 days of our holiday were spent worrying and cross and upset. No I will not be back.

Nice views and great cocktails

We’ve being going to Aguas on an annual basis. We were blown away by the attention to detail on our first visit. Sadly, we were underwhelmed this time :-( Especially when we paid for an upgrade! The cleanliness of the room wasn’t 5* we found previous guests rubbish behind a cabinet, the balcony door did not lock. It was such a shame as it took the shine off the holiday. I must say that the problems were acted on promptly. I did honestly feel the hotel felt a bit tired, cracked tiles in the restrooms, sun loungers were worn. However, they have invested in new umbrellas for the pool. Around the pool before you walked down the stairs there were tiles lifting which made it dangerous for guests. My husband used the sauna and nails were exposed. Which he alerted the cleaner, who acted on it quickly. I must say the pool staff were amazing very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. Good choice ! The waiters were very inconsistent either very friendly or cold. I’m not sure if that was because they were understaffed? I do feel the hotel’s focus was on the big events and not on their guests. Which was a shame. Sadly, I didn’t feel the 5* experience. I would like to point out an amazing bar man Sebastian on the roof top! So friendly and created amazing cocktails. I would just like to say it takes a lot for me to write these type of post and sad to point out the negatives. I would describe the hotel in the perfect location, the views are second to none. I just hope the hotel invests in getting the basics right. The hotel needs TLC and better customer service. As guests are paying a lot for bed and breakfast! I’m sure the hotel will rectify this!

I’m really disappointed with this hotel. We have stayed here for many years since 2010. We’ve always found the hotel to be very accommodating this year has been a totally different experience. We are staying here with our family. The room has been turned down in the evening with no vanity kits , only one towel left in the room and no water. When we sit round the pool we have noticed food on the floor from the day before where the floor has not been cleaned from the day before. Bar staff do not come round the pool in the day . You have to go up to the bar and order your drinks which does not provide a relaxing holiday atmosphere. Sometimes I have been up to the bar and 6staff are just standing around. This hotel is lacking management and it is a real shame as the it is a nice hotel .

Great stay. ONE THING TO BE AWARE OF. THEY TAKE SECURITY DEPOSIT OF €300 TO BE HELD FOR 7 DAYS. 2 weeks later no deposit paid back. Contacted the hotel several times on both e mail and WhatsApp. Beware
