Surrounded by lush rainforest, this pastel-pink hideaway grants exclusive access to the park—minus the crowds. Seeing the falls in near solitude is magical, but we offer more than just a great location. Step through our doors into a world of understated luxury. Soak up the jungle chorus while you float in the pool, stroll gardens bejewelled with orchids and sip caipirinhas as the sun goes down. Embark on the ultimate adventure at South America's first and only Forbes Five Star hotel, and you’ll never want to leave.

We spent a night here to visit the northern side of the waterfalls, after we had visited the Argentinian side in the afternoon before, on the way from the airport to the hotel. The location in the park is perfect, as we could visit the falls after the park closed, and again in the morning before opening. It was very special having the falls to ourselves at 08:00 in the morning, before the crowds arrive at around 09:30 the park opens. We also visited the falls at full moon, and the hotel offers a full moon walking tour, which is not to be missed (but confirm start time with the concierge, even if you have a written confirmation from the hotel, to avoid unpleasant surprises) – well worth to consider aligning travel dates with the moon phase! Rooms and bathrooms are very large and fully equipped, all at a very high standard – we had been at two other Belmond locations on this trip, and none disappointed. We had dinner at the Ipe restaurant, which was generally o.k., but for an Assado de tiras you may want to wait until you are actually in Argentina. The breakfast buffet is very good and offers all options one might think of, including a coffee bar with a dedicated barista. For a visit to the Iguazu waterfalls, we strongly recommend staying at this hotel.

Every moment at this hotel felt like I was in a 1930's hollywood film. The setting was so exquisite it made me want to dress up beyond regular travel clothing to fit the environment. I only wish I could have stayed longer to be fully immersed in the world this hotel created.

We had high expectations of this hotel, but the hotel and it's staff managed to exceed our expectations in every way.

My wife and I were delighted with our stay at the Cataratas Hotel in Foz do Iguacu. Accommodations and all of the staff were excellent. Curteus, friendly and helpful. The hotel is an experience on its own. not to be missed. Elegant.

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
