A splurge, but well worth it

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Several months later we are still talking about our stays at the Belmond. We found the service to be outstanding and our rooms (we enjoyed two separate short stays within about a week) were excellent. The access to Iguazú Falls—being located inside the national park—was really worth the exorbitant cost… we got up really early in the morning to walk the trails and view the falls before the rest of the tourists arrived. Such a spectacular experience to be almost the only people there among so much beauty. Breakfasts were generous and very good and we also enjoyed dinner in the same restaurant. We appreciated the shuttle that took us to the park entrance…almost to the bird park. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, with a nice pool. There’s access to a tower that offers spectacular views of the falls. We saw some striking birds on the grounds as well as coatis and guinea pigs. Also, we appreciated excellent service from the concierge desk. This was a big splurge for us but we didn’t regret it one bit.

Stunning property at the Iguazu Falls

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

A truly beautiful hotel in the most majestic national park of Brazil with easy access to Iguazu Falls. The rooms are impeccable and the service is top notch. We had the most amazing meal at restaurant Y and cocktails were to die for. The breakfast brunch is lavish and delicious. We could not have asked for better place to stay. You can have private access to the falls after the park closes to the public and it makes a huge difference. We went early morning when there were no crowds and then saw the sunset after the park closed to the public.

A fabulous hotel in an amazing location

We had such a lovely stay at the Belmond at Iguaçu and would thoroughly recommend. The hotel is beautiful and directly opposite the Falls. The property is well maintained and very luxurious. You will not be disappointed.

A great stay at Belmond Hotel in Iguassa Falls

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

This hotel is well situated opposite the Falls and once at the property there is no reason to leave. The check-in was excellent and the staff throughout the hotel were very helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant and pool. The hotel arranged a tour of the Falls on the Argentinian side and the tour guide was knowledgeable. The stay at the property was memorable and well worth the room price. A must stay !

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
