TOTAL RIPOFF!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I originally booked four nights, and was given a specific rate for each of the four nights. Our plans changed and we had to drop the first of the four nights. You would think we'd still have the remaining three nights at the rates they quoted for each of those nights. But no! They repriced the three remaining nights, and SURPRISE...the rates on our existing reservation were increased by a total of more than $200. When I explained to the agent that this seems like fraud, their message was essentially 'tough, that's how we do it.'

Fantastic Stay

Good location, great resort. The only thing is that the beach area is under construction right now, cannot wait to go back after the renovation is done. Even during the renovation, the shuttle program and the alternate beach access was good.

Don't Let The Construction Stop Your Booking

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This place is awesome. You won't be disappointed by staying here. Let's start with why this is a 4 star review as opposed to a 5 star. The lobby smells like smoke due to the casino in the next room. Other than the lobby the hotel smells just fine. The hotel beach area was under construction. so, we didn't get to experience the lounge chairs out on the beach. We did get to go to the alternative beach and the hotel does a nice job of accommodating transportation to the beach area. They even provide a hour each day of complimentary water toys. So, that's great. We were just disappointed that we missed out on the relaxing beach experience shown in the pictures on the website. The last thing I would say that needs improvement is the kids beds in the room. We had a room with the bunk beds and those beds are straight out uncomfortable. They are so bad, our teenager was trying to climb into bed with my wife and I. Everything else is great - Check in is professional. They provide you with a bracelet that is the key to your room and everything else at the resort. I love the bracelet idea because I don't have to carry the plastic room key around with me or be reaching into my pocket for my phone with the digital key on it. Personally, this is the best key system I've experienced. The room is spacious. We booked a room with bunk beds and a couch. The room was beautiful and far from standard. I appreciated that the fridge was empty and not full of drinks the hotel would charge us for. We got to stock our own fridge even though it was small. We had room 934. I would recommend it for sure. The rooms are well insulated. We didn't hear any noise from neighbors in the hall, adjacent rooms or above us. That's a sign of a 5 star hotel. The pool is where we spent a lot of out time and surprisingly, the hot tub. There are lots of lounge chairs for all the guests. We never felt like we were competing for space. There are a lot of other things at the resort that we did not participate in: Weekly activities like learning archery or axe throwing. You can rent bikes at the hotel. You can even rent a boat. We also didn't do any hiking. We walked to an work out trail that's behind the hotel. This hotel is great for physically active families. Food is just okay at the hotel. We actually struggled to find good food anywhere in Lake Tahoe. Bear in mind that food at the hotel is overpriced.

Excellent Resort

Great location and amenities. Beach area under renovation, but didn't ruin or experience at all. Still able to kayak and stand up paddle board. Two nearby private beaches (one walking distance to), but shuttle provided for both by hotel. Clean and great staff.

Mountainside Margaritas

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I just wanted to leave a review to say that if you're staying at the resort, you should do the Mountainside Margarita's hike with Alex! It's a blast!!!
