Unsure

Pretty pricy hotel… staff was absolutely wonderful. Shout out to Monty at poolside. Great service! We are on the fence on whether we’d return due to the high price it’s hard to justify… I expected more… pool clientele was a bit trashy- leaving half eaten food and garbage everywhere…food right by the pool’s edge and empty cups and plates. The cleaning staff was working hard in the heat to keep up with this, but the volume of people acting like pigs was just too much.. Kind of gross… also one side of our room was very hot and stuffy even though the a/c was turned down so half of us didn’t sleep well… blackout curtains didn’t reach the bottom of the floor so at sunrise, a blast of light came in every morning.. we had sleeping masks but this was no match for the desert sun LOL

Great staycation

Great family friendly resort for our young family. The kids loved all the pools and slides along with the lazy river. It’s a fun resort to relax or have some fun. Would for sure come back.

Great for families with kids

Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Staff was helpful and responsive. There is no need to leave the property as there is a lot to do onsite.

Kind of Disappointing

After an 8 hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area, we arrived at about 3:45pm and advised the two rooms I booked were not ready. Check in time is 4pm so no problem. At 4:15pm I checked again and the rooms weren't ready. At 5pm the rooms still weren't ready. Meanwhile, my family's luggage and our ice chest are sitting outside cooking in the 100+ degree temperatures. At 5:15pm I started getting a little irritated and was told they were fixing a door in the room and they should be available within the hour. We ended up getting one of the rooms at 5:30 and the other after 6. Upon entering our first room, there was garbage on the floor (a straw and wad of paper towels) and one of the counter surfaces was covered in salt and pepper as if someone ate on it. They did give us a $150 credit toward the rooms and a $25 credit at their little market (which will get you a beer and a couple waters), but after a long day of travel credits aren't that important. The folks working the front doors/valet were great, very friendly and inviting. I wanted to break some $20's to tip however the bar is no cash so I was told by the bartender to go to the check-in desk to get change. Nope, they don't do that. Just kind of annoying. Get on the same page. I saw several people trying to do this as the welcoming staff was certainly deserving of a tip. THE FOOD: I was really anticipating the restaurant here to live up to the level the website purported it to be. The second night of our trip we went to Carmocha for dinner. The Deviled Eggs, $14 for 4 halves, were soupy and flat like little bowls of yolk soup. I ordered the fried chicken for dinner. For $24 you get a half chicken, no sides. I cut the breast in half and it was completely raw and it had to go back. I opted to just have a burrata salad instead of waiting another 20 minutes for another chicken order. The salad came out way longer than expected and was completely inedible. I don't know what kind of vinegar they used but it was the most acidic/strong vinegar I've ever tasted. The pasta with butter and cheese that my 11 year old ordered came in a bowl swimming in a pool of butter. Just way overpriced for the service and quality of food. The pool was nice and we enjoyed our time there. The grounds were well kept and overall the rooms were nice. When I travel this area again, I'll try out a different place.
