Large, friendly, service oriented

Very nice resort. Huge room. Great on-site restaurants and we counted 7 pools. Housekeeping and maintenance staff are too nitch as is the hostess staff at Tia Carmen.

Perfect chill weekend

Super fun lazy river and slides. Love the food and beverage program here. Proximity to Players and Celebrity golf courses makes this our favorite weekend getaway spot in the desert

good hotel but is the value there?

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Stayed here for our winter getaway- Had high expectation given recent renovation and it did live up somewhat. good: food/hotel restaurants were top notch. Tia Carmen was worth visiting breakfast and dinner. property layout was also stellar. There were many conferences during my stay and I was surprised that the hotel did not feel crowded and elevators weren't filled with guests. The hotel looked pretty new at times with top notch water slide and the room felt pretty new. not as good: service was spotty- often times I had to request same thing multiple times, The service also did not feel very personal and lacked the level of attentiveness that I typically expected from a hotel of this price range room noise- surprised that I could hear the guests next room maintenance: while the hotel itself looked pretty new on first sight, the more we utilize hotel's amenities, the more I see that the upkeep isn't done as diligently (a lot of popular items were fairly worn out such as bikes, tennis racquets). the investment has to be maintained or else the experience slowly deteriorates value proposition: while I did overall enjoy the stay, I also noticed that the price keeps rising since I reserved the room... and at the current going rate, I expect serious benefit to meet the value proposition. While I see much promise, I think the hotel needs to stand on top of fairly competitive hotel scene

Disappointing Stay for a Young Family at a Very High Price Point

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells with my wife and our 5‑month‑old baby, and unfortunately, the experience fell well short of what we expected – especially given the cost. We were paying around $650 per night, plus a $45/night resort fee and $35/night self‑parking. For that total, I expected a genuinely seamless, comfortable, and guest‑focused stay. Instead, the basics were not there. The biggest issue was the layout combined with a critical elevator being out of service. The hotel is huge, and the elevator closest to the self‑parking area was down for our entire stay. This meant that every time we parked, we had to walk the entire length of a wing from the parking area to the lobby elevators, go up, and then walk all the way down the corridor again to our room, which was at the far end of the building. Doing that repeatedly with a 5‑month‑old baby, stroller, and bags was exhausting and really took away from any sense of “relaxation” you’d expect at a resort of this level. What made it worse was the lack of real acknowledgment or assistance from the hotel. For a massive property run by one of the largest hotel brands in the world, having a key elevator out of service in such a crucial location—and apparently with no effective workaround—felt unacceptable. No one at the front desk ever proactively addressed it or offered any meaningful solution or gesture. Service overall was underwhelming. Front‑of‑house staff (front desk, commissary, etc.) were “nice enough,” but interactions felt scripted rather than genuinely warm or accommodating. Given how clearly we were struggling with the baby and stroller because of the long walks, I was expecting someone to show more initiative, empathy, or creativity in helping us. That never happened. To be fair, the room itself was the highlight: spacious, clean, and comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job, and once we were actually in the room, we were happy with the space and layout. But a nice room doesn’t fully compensate for the daily inconvenience of getting to and from it, or for the feeling that the property simply didn’t deliver the level of service and ease that its pricing suggests. Overall, the stay felt like very poor value for money. Between the high nightly rate, the added resort and parking fees, and the operational issues, I left disappointed and frustrated. This is not the experience I associate with the Grand Hyatt name, and I wouldn’t choose this property again for a family stay unless there were clear signs that issues like this have been addressed and that service has become more genuinely guest‑focused.

Excellent Care

A beautiful hotel. The Grand Hyatt Team at this hotel are the very best. We were cared for and made comfortable in a large assembly area with robes, blankets, hot drinks etc for a short time. Thankyou Grand Hyatt Indian Wells
