Reviews for Ness Walk

Amazing trip!

The Ness Walk is a wonderful experience! Of course, the people make it memorable - from Mark, (concierge), who ordered a taxi for us and ensured we made it to our scheduled tour (we will always remember that!) to Euwan & his colleague (bad with names but it was Sept. 11 Thursday night), who kept us smiling at the bar. We have very fond memories and would absolutely stay here again, if only to see our new friends again.

Luxury hotel, gracious staff and excellent food and location.

Solo female traveler, 3 nights. Location: Close enough to walk to shops, restaurants, entertainment and tourist attractions (apx 3/4 to 1 mile depending on destination downtown).   Far enough from bars that if you desire to retire early you won't be kept up.   Easy flat walk, entirely along a picturesque river with coffee stands alongside if you wish to stop along the way. Hotel: Truly grand while intimate.  Personalized service begins before you leave your car/taxi.  Luggage whisked to the room while you enjoy a glass of champagne while checking in.  Polite, professional staff who never seem to forget you are 'there'.  I had to check my reservation twice to make sure I booked the right hotel as the online pictures and description undersell the welcome. Rooms/facilities: Well appointed, well furnished and spacious.  Large bottles of complimentary flat and sparkling water (seems simple but such a nice benefit), high quality linens and the bed felt 'new'.  The Internet was strong throughout the hotel (reception, lobby, restaurant and rooms).  Showers and bath were clean and well maintained and top quality amenities including the "I forgot...x" sunderies already placed in the room vs ringing the desk.  Five stars for all of the above- a sixth star for the Restaurant and Staff.Restaurant: Excellent service and food. Breakfast was a combination of hot individual orders and continental. Eggs benedict and porridge stood out as top choices at the morning meal but those are my usual go-to so didn't try much else. At the one evening meal I had I lingered more than usual as each course was an event to savor. The standout was the halibut (I'm from Alaska and tend to be a bit snotty about it) and it was perfect. Cooked with respect for the fish's 'lightness' and not overpowered by seasoning or the sides. Almost better than my fathers! There wasn't a single staff member that provided 'less-than' service. Beyond the expected politeness and helpful actions they strike the balance of letting you 'breath' and also being aware of needs. I'm in Scotland (from Alaska) apx 2x a year and will make this a destination of choice.  Additional note for single female travelers:  YMMV but I felt very safe throughout my trip- even walking the 3/4 mile back to the hotel at 11 at night.  Obviously don't take silly chances and be aware of your surroundings but a comfortable city for sure.

5 Star Hotel

Just spent a highly enjoyable weekend at Ness Walk whilst visiting Inverness & the local sights. The hotel is in a great location by the river, just a short walk from the city centre. After a warm welcome from the staff, which included a glass of complimentary champagne, we were shown to our room (201). Although this is a very large room with lots of space, we quickly discovered it’s downsides – no full length wardrobe, no dressing table for my wife, and ceiling lighting that was either on or off (ie no zoning). Whoever designed it had not thought through the needs of a guest. On the positive side the furnishings, décor & bathroom were all good quality, and most importantly the bed was very comfortable, so we slept well. Outside of our room, we thought the hotel facilities were excellent, particularly the Torrish restaurant, where we had a very enjoyable meal. In addition, there is a separate bar area which has it’s own menu and the food here was equally good. Service throughout our stay was exceptional - very professional but friendly & helpful at the same time. Despite my comments on the room, I’ve given the hotel a 5 rating because there was so much we liked about the place - the people, the food, the facilities etc but if we did stay again then we would opt for a different room .

The magnificent Ness Walk Hotel

The Ness Walk is a lovely and calming hotel. In a beautiful area of Inverness it offers a very tranquil location. They rooms are lovely but what makes this hotel is the amazing staff. From Suzanne and Kevin who greated us upon arrival, to Monica who gave us local suggestions , to Fran and Hannah and Fraston in the dining room/bar, we could not have dreamed of a better stay. (the entire staff was marvelous!) The rooms we beautifully appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The Torris dinning room had great food for both breakfast and dinner. If you are going to Inverness, do not miss Ness Walk

Magical Anniversary Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

From the moment we arrived the warmth and welcome of the staff was like a warm embrace. We were returning to the hotel which we used for our wedding 25 years ago and although we had so many fond memories of what was then Maple Court, Ness Walk just blew us away. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly and all the little touches which made us feel so special were really appreciated. We are already planning to return as we've found our happy place.
