Brilliant Experience: Super Special - Hotel Deserves Its 5 stars!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

Finally got round to writing this review, some weeks after we stayed here at the end of January 2026. In a city close to our hearts, my husband & I stayed at this fabulous 5 star hotel for 4 nights, in order to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The hotel felt special from the moment we entered, being met by the marvellous Monica, with a couple of glasses of champagne for us both, and who really deserves a special shout out. She was a credit to the management team and just wonderful during our whole stay ... but, to be honest, each and every customer-facing staff member we came across was equally friendly and professional and seemed to be happy in their work - in the world of hospitality, that's a mean feat! They were all really attentive, whilst not being "in your face". A difficult balance to achieve, but they did so. Additional shout outs needed for Grace, Stephen, Anna, Callum and Scott - they all helped make our hotel stay just the very best. All the food we experienced was fabulous, from breakfast through to dinner, and the tasting menu was just wonderful as our real treat: the really nice thing that we noticed was that each course was also separately available as a bigger dish on the à la carte menu, giving you the option of having it once more on its own, should you wish... and so we did the next night! Our compliments to the chef and whole kitchen team. Just have to say that as for dessert... wow! Our passion fruit soufflés almost defied gravity, they were so tall! Just wonderful. Absolutely delicious food. The staff we came across as part of Ness Walk's Housekeeping Team were delightful, and our bedroom felt super-special on our wedding anniversary evening after dinner when we found rose petals on the bed and truffles for us to enjoy too. Although there are no onsite leisure facilities, a lovely spa and swimming pool are available for guest use in Ness Walk's sister hotel (Kingsmills Hotel) a short drive away. We didn't take advantage of them during this visit, but having previously stayed at the Kingsmills (before Ness Walk opened) I can confirm the spa & swimming pool there are lovely! Sadly, as we live in the Midlands, we can't easily "nip" to Ness Walk, otherwise we'd have popped back already, for dinner at least! We will definitely return soon though. A really lovely hotel, made super-special for us by all the staff we came across. Highly recommended. Thanks to all. OK, gushing over now. Can you tell we had a great time?!

Best Hotel In Inverness

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the hotel. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome by the concierge and front office team... Mark, Bella, Monica to name but a few did a fantastic job. Very comfortable bedroom with all the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel and the housekeeping team delivering excellent service. Special mention for Euan in the bar who was very professional and excelled in responding to all questions put to him about the drinks menu. The restaurant team with Greg at breakfast and Aidan at dinner also looked after us very well. Last but not least the General Manager Kevin made an excellent impression and was present in the operation throughout our stay. You could see his passion and attention to detail created the team spirit within the hotel and that in turn ensures the guest experience is enhanced. We will definitely be back!

5 Star all the way!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

From arrival to our early departure (illness which had nothing to do with the hotel) my wife and I were treated like VIPs. We had stayed in the sister hotel previously a few years ago and was impressed then too, however this was another level! The staff were to a person; engaging, knowledgeable, courteous and so friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. A great example of this was asking if there was any chance we could pay for some of the pastry chef - Kevin's homemade oatcakes. Not only did we receive a free box of them to take home, he also provided us with a hand written recipe!! Food, drinks, room, in fact the whole experience was 5 star minimum! Thanks all, and we'll see you again soon!

What a place - Absolutely superb hotel !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Your experience starts in the car park , where a staff member is on hand to greet you , take your luggage to the room and seat you in the lounge looking over the river with complimentary champagne.. very classy . The top hotels around the world , (as you may know, ) don’t have a reception desk for you to stand at on entry , they seat you , give you a glass of fizz or local cocktail and you take a relaxed stroll to your room later to meet your luggage again . This place has adopted this touch of luxury and it really makes it stand out and seem special . The room is large , a great bed , a separate wc , a big adjoining bathroom with tub and a strong shower , wardrobes , sitting chairs , smart tv .. it’s got it all .. We were booked into a restaurant locally , so we didn’t eat in the restaurant, but having a nightcap in the bar , we heard great reports so will try it next time .. All the staff were friendly , helpful , genuinely polite and happy , which gave us a great experience .. In March we were booked into somewhere else , and i cancelled and booked into Ness Walk again , I can’t recommend it better than that !
