The Tides Inn is a Chesapeake Bay resort set in the heart of Virginia's Northern Neck. You’ll feel the rich heritage at the Tides Inn the moment you arrive. There’s history in the water which laps gently against the Inn’s Duffy boats in the marina. There’s an undeniable coziness in the charm of the people around you. A quaint nostalgia in sipping a cold lemonade as you watch the afternoon sun dip into the sea. It’s palpable, and it’s a legacy that’s as beloved to us as it has been to you for decades.

BUGS! Crawling and biting me in my clothes on the bed and crawling up my sons crib!! Manager was rude when came to him with this issue! My husband, son and I decided to got to this place in July. We were happy upon arrival as everything SEEMED nice. We were laying in bed the first night and I kept feeling stings I thought wow my skin is sensitive to this laundry detergent. I finally checked my pants and swarms of bugs were in there crawling all over me and biting me. I jumped out of bed and pulled back the sheets to see so many bugs all over. My sons crib was right next to the bed and there were bugs crawling up the side of the crib. My husband grabbed my son while I jumped in the shower to wash off and then I went straight to the front desk. He said while he was waiting he was constantly being bit but couldn’t do much as he didn’t want to put my son down. I ran to the front desk to get a room change as this was midnight. If it was any earlier we would have packed up and left. The lady at the front desk was nice and we moved to a suite. I asked if a manager could call me first thing in the am. The next morning I waited and waited no call. So I called and asked to speak to a manager. One called me back (he was driving) I told him the situation and he said he would talk to another manager and call me back asap. I told him that we couldn’t shower, change or do anything because I wasn’t sure if bugs got into our bags and didn’t want to put on clothes that had bugs in them. 45 MINS LATER still no call so I called and asked to speak to a manager. They said oh he’s in a meeting and the one you just talked to is at the airport! Confused and mad I said I needed to speak to someone right away. Another 45 mins went by so I walked up to the front desk and demanded to speak to a manager. Here came Emmanuel. He said to me that he was in very important meetings all day. He then sat down with me and in a condescending way said well what do you want us to do about this. As if I was just complaining about my drink or food being wrong or something. Not the fact that my son, husband and I were just surrounded with bugs crawling all over us and our things. He was so rude that we asked for trash bags to pack our things and left. No one offered to help us pack or anything just left some trash bags out. Upon leaving I called for days to get a hold of the general manager. I left many messages and finally it took me speaking to someone at HR to pass on the message. The general manager called back and apologized and asked if we wanted to come back. ABSOLUTELY NOT! I told him that my husband and I are business owners and we took time away from our businesses (we have very limited time off) to come on vacay and we couldn’t even go anywhere else because we had to go home and wash all of our things. He said that he would send us something so we could go on another trip which I thought was nice…..well Two weeks later and a call to remind them we get a gc for less than a one night stay there. I do not recommend, they don’t care at all about their customers. Emmanuel who is the “manager” is rude, condescending and looks down on you. I said I wonder if he would have acted that way if he spoke with my husband instead of me.

We stayed at the marina with several other boats in our group. The Tides Inn is really stepping up their game. Resort activities were amazing. Would have loved the have had the pool heated as it was cool and water was way to cold to enjoy.

We paid $800 a night with fees for a waterfront king room at this “quaint” hotel, only to be told at 6 PM that the dining room was completely full. Our only option was the bar. However Ninety minutes later, at 7:35 PM, I took the attached video showing only three occupied tables and the rest completely empty. On our way out, I mentioned this to the front desk—that we could have easily been seated if we’d been given the chance. The response? A smile and a dismissive “I’m sorry.” For $800 a night, one hopes for more than just a bed. Staffing and service clearly aren’t a priority here. Just be aware of what you’re really paying for… or not getting. I won't even mention the DJ at the pool playing MC Hammer, LL Cool J and Eminem all day. Lol (that's really loud rap music) Where am I.... 😆 I just can't ..

Gourmet food, drinks and mouthwatering seafood served fresh to u on private beach. Luxe loungers with refreshing water scenery. Only sounds you hear are birds, water lapping on the beach and distant blub blub of passing boats. We extended our stay. Go here. Stay longer. Sublime resort.

Very thin walls (could hear other guest conversations quite clearly, and a lot of noise from other guest's pets) and 90% obstructed view (trees and shrubbery) blocked the view of the water from our ground floor room.
