Amazing hotel. But not for families

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Amazing location. But… Without notice, they hosted a party outside the hotel with very high (!) music until 00.30. Compensation? a lunch… it was aligned with their hotel policy to have that kind of parties… That is not what you expect when paying premium for 5 nights. It would have been fair to refund one of 5 nights or at least half a night. Poor judged by management that also was talking to the owner. Be aware of you brand reputation…

Charming relaxed luxury

Regina Isabella is old school in the best ways possible. A personal welcome, staff who remember your name and are always friendly. The rooms are in the same vein, spacious and traditional. The hotel always felt relaxed and the concierge team were really helpful. The breakfast was superlative. We also enjoyed the range of sunbathing areas. The hotel is away from the main tourist hub but there are a number of good local places to eat if you don’t want fine dining every day. I would recommend car hire for a day or two to see the island. In June it was easy to get around and to park. A trip to Negombo (5-10 mins walk) is also recommended. We don’t often return to the same hotel but I have a feeling we may return here.

La Dolce Vita at Regina Isabella

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Our stay at the gorgeous Regina Isabella was perfect in every way. We were greeted at the ferry port and transported to the property. We were welcomed by GM Davide and his staff. To our surprise and pleasure, our rooms were prepared and ready upon 11:00 am arrival. Our room was immaculately clean and well appointed with robes, slippers and lovely personal care products. To our delight, GM Davide had Prosecco on ice sent to our room. The deluxe room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the water. Every member of staff was attentive, friendly and professional. Evening meals in the dining room were delicious. Sommelier recommended local wines which were wonderful. Morning breakfasts were bountiful with an array of hand made pastries, fresh breads, fruits and hot entrees available. Fresh cappuccinos & espresso. We enjoyed the pool and the jetties for lounging by day. The lunch dining room by the pool and jetties had an incredible variety of fresh, local produce, meats & cheeses, fresh pasta & unforgettable homemade bean soup. Evening entertainment in the lounge with handcrafted cocktails. The Regina Isabella has a glamorous history and that Dolce Vita lifestyle endures. Concierge arranged transportation for our many adventures around Ischia. We felt completely at home and pampered by all the service and attention given. The Regina Isabella is a gem and certainly the highlight of our 24 day trip to Italy. We plan to return to this amazing property and beautiful Ischia.

World class lodging, and hospitality on Ischia

This was my second visit to this fabulous hotel – the first was late October 2023 – and it didn't disappoint. What I particularly love about the Regina Isabella is that everything there is wonderfully formal and "haute," however, the staff couldn't be warmer or more helpful – absolutely no stuffiness there. I think it's because the vast majority are from the island, and living on an island myself (Vancouver Island), and also having lived on the Big Island, there is just something different about island people and their genuine warmth and friendliness. The food is just delicious (we did the half board option), and honestly, the buffet breakfast is "worth the price of admission." Unfortunately, on this visit, I suffered 3/5 days of my stay from some sort of stomach reaction to antibiotics I had been prescribed back home. The staff couldn't have been kinder - especially the wonderful concierge, Raffaele - in bringing me broth and checking in on me. If in the future I do return - hoping that is so - the one bonus of coming in late October is that the ocean temperature is much warmer and the island is almost dead quiet, which is quite wonderful. It wasn't super busy at all when I was there post Easter, but the sea was only warm enough for a very quick dip. But they do have a lovely warm outdoor ocean water swimming pool as well as an inside warm mineral water pool. I would also definitely want to be able to do some snorkelling and perhaps diving if I return, as Ischia is a marine sanctuary. Also, as I did with my previous visit, I would want to do a lot of the wonderful hikes on the island that I unfortunately didn't feel well enough to do on this visit. I also had two clay wraps while I was there – the mud is world-famous in its healing properties – and a fantastic massage by a powerful but very gentle masseur, Chiro (sp?) - I highly recommend him.

Sparkling! Wonderful stay!

The old-world charm of the Regina Isabella Resort was unlike anything we had experienced before. The decoration and design of the hotel was gorgeous. We were there the last week of the season, so the hotel was probably quieter than usual, but we loved the peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast had everything we wanted and the pastries and cappuccino were the best we had on our vacation in Italy. Special thanks to the GM, David, who greeted us upon arrival and exceeded expectations to ensure we had a great stay. He even arranged a special wine tour to a local vineyard (walking distance from the hotel) - it was a highlight of our stay. Thank you, David, for being such a gracious host, and for taking the time to wish us well as we got ready to depart the hotel. Thanks also to the housekeeping staff, who were friendly and did an excellant job ensuring our room was beautifully kept each day. We would love to return in the future!
