Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres

Overall great stay mainly because of our butler Ana. She took care of us like no other butler before - very friendly, caring and such a sweetheart of a person and a hard worker. Also our stay was made by the outstanding staff - with minor exceptions people were super friendly, cheerful and helpful. Our stay was made special by Victor (food concierge), Leonard (head chef of Oceana), Isaac (manager at Himitsu), Emma (hostess at Oceana), Jocelyn (Pfererred Lounge desk) and the Coco Café boys. Big shoutout to these guys and gals. We are beach people and the one at this resort is separated by a dune which we didn’t like much. But at the time of our stay there was pretty much ZERO sargassum. Also the jungle pool had very limited pool chairs and was infested with mosquitoes. Other than that the resort is beautiful. There is very little wear and tear and we appreciated that. The rooms look nice and still brand new - yet they need more hooks for towels/ropes in the bathroom, though. And our A/C didn’t get the room cold enough most nights. What we disliked the most was the very inconsistent restaurant experience - from two hours wait time yet an unsatisfactory dinner to no line at all yet great food and experience… it was a mixed bag. Plus the quality of beef was below other resorts - including all other Secrets we have been to. And they never cooked one steak to the correct doneness - we don’t like food waste and didn’t want to throw it out, so we still ate it.

Where do I even begin?! My wife and I came down to Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres(SPB) for our honeymoon. It was our first time at an all-inclusive, and we fear we’ve ruined our perception of what they can be. Our time at SPB was nothing short of perfect. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by one of the kindest folks I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, Aldrin. He was helpful, attentive and a genuine delight. We had arrived well prior to check-in time, due to flight limitations. We were able to get checked in early, despite our room not yet being ready, they happily stowed our bags and allowed us to utilize the amenities of the resort until our room was prepped! In a phenomenal effort by SPB; our room was ready well before we had anticipated! When we got to our room, we were greeted by our two ‘butlers’ Eduardo and Manuel. These two were absolute gems. Not only were they incredibly helpful when we had questions, they went so far above and beyond to ensure that we had the best stay possible. They were, undeniably, two of the best people we had met in our adventure! Beyond that, there is the actual property. It’s scenic, it’s clean, there are an abundance of options of pools, the Ocean is amazing, the beaches are pristine, the spa is brilliant (especially the hydrotherapy), the servers are all wonderful, and the rooms are exquisite. Then there’s the food! I was a little skeptical of how the food would be at an all inclusive, but I immediately had my skepticism blasted away. It didn’t matter which restaurant we went to, the food was delicious, the portions were normal(even lending themselves to the larger side), and there are a plethora of options for you to choose! My personal favourite was the Japanese Restaurant, Himitsu. Finally, the resort also offered a variety of activities, shows and experiences that were wonderful to engage with! While we were only able to partake in a few of these, I was absolutely blown away by them. There was a market one evening with a myriad of local artisans, something for everyone! As far as shows we were able to catch the Aura Band, a Mayan show as well as a fire show. They had done an exceptional job of keeping it interesting, entertaining, and educational. If you’ve managed to get this far in my rambling, I hope you are as excited to visit as I am to return!

The staff were incredibly friendly and funny — especially our butler team, Eddy and Eduardo. They were polite, kind, and handled all our requests quickly and perfectly. 🤩 All the cocktails were delicious, and the pool was just amazing. There were a lot of mosquitoes, but still, it was such a happy trip. I’d love to come back someday. Highly recommend this hotel! 😘😘

We enjoyed our trip to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in preferred swimout oceanfront room in building 2. The room was very clean and looked exactly like the pictures. Our butlers, Duran and Gustavo, were absolutely AMAZING! They made sure we had everything we needed, from scheduling service at the spa, inflating pool float, bringing firmer pillows per our request, updated us on daily activities and also decorated our room on our anniversary while we were out at dinner. They even contacted the transportation company to confirm departure pickup time for us. These guys worked really hard to make our vacation really special. Thanks again butler team, Duran and Gutavo. The food at each of the restaurants was delicious, including at Market Cafe, Barefoot Grill, Oceana for lunch and dinner, El Patio, Coco Cafe and our favorite resty, was the Japanese! It's a beautiful resort with nice landscape and pools. Every staff member offers exceptional service. Can't think of a single complaint! Definitely recommend this resort to anyone wanting to enjoy a trip to paradise!

We went to secret Playa Blanca for our honeymoon, and it was the most perfect experience. The staff was absolutely the best and made our entire trip. We had multiple trips to the spa and every single time it was perfection. And the food was top-tier. Our concierge Paola was amazing and made wonders happen for us. We were able to catch the Mayan show one night thanks to Karin. And my husband was absolutely obsessed with Coco Café and the team. There was so amazing that they would remember us and make our drinks the second they saw us walked through the door.
