Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres

Had an amazing stay. The property was very clean and well maintained. We had personal butlers, Benji and Lorenzo. They were amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better staff and accommodations.

5 stars for the entire experience — we had an amazing stay from start to finish. A few members of staff in particular really stood out and made our trip even more special. Maria (Housekeeping) Maria did an incredible job throughout our stay. We always returned to a spotless room with fresh towels, and it genuinely felt like we were walking into the room for the first time again every day. It was such a nice feeling coming back to a beautifully clean and refreshed room. Juan & Miguel (Butlers) Juan and Miguel were both extremely attentive and always very prompt with their responses. Whenever we needed anything, they were more than happy to help. On separate occasions, we asked for both the indoor and outdoor hot tubs to be prepared for us, and so much effort was put into making the experience special, from getting the temperature perfect to the thoughtful decorations. Their attention to detail was really appreciated. Viktor (Server – Portofino) Viktor provided outstanding service. He recommended some amazing drinks and made the whole dining experience so enjoyable. The food, drinks and service were so good that we ended up returning to Portofino another two times during our stay. Alma & Carmen (Spa) We booked a relaxing massage at the spa with Alma and Carmen and both felt completely comfortable throughout the whole experience. We both agreed that it was the best massage we had ever received. We especially appreciated their attention to detail, regularly checking that the pressure was right and making sure we were comfortable throughout the massage. Jon & Taylor (Entertainment Team) Jon and Taylor made us feel incredibly welcome from day one. They always encouraged us to get involved with the games and activities, but what stood out even more was that they would still come over and have conversations with us even after the activities had finished. It made the experience feel much more personal and welcoming. The entertainment team as a whole were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the shows, games and activities that were organised throughout our stay, and they played a huge part in making the overall experience so enjoyable. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would happily give the hotel 5 stars. The service, attention to detail and friendliness of the staff really made the stay memorable.

Best resort experience I have ever had! Classy, comfortable, beach view, staff, the rooms, the food so delicious! Everything was included! Room service amazing! Staff so professional and friendly! Literally we felt heaven on Earth! Will definitely come again!

Secrets Playa Blanca September 19–26, 2026 | Room 1305 | Preferred Club Oceanfront King We had a wonderful week at Secrets Playa Blanca and, after staying at 14 different Secrets resorts, this may be my new favorite. Arrival & Room We booked Happy private transportation from the airport. Once we located them, they called for our driver and we waited a little over 15 minutes. In the Cancun heat and humidity, it felt longer than it probably was! Check-in at the resort was smooth. We arrived around 1:30 p.m. and were taken to Seaside Grill for lunch while our room was being prepared. We booked a Preferred Club Oceanfront King, and the room was beautiful. It was also very quiet, which we appreciated. The bathroom setup is a little unusual. There isn’t a true door separating the bathroom from the bedroom—just a beautiful slatted sliding screen. It looks great, but it doesn’t offer a lot of privacy. My only real issue with the room was the closet doors. They don’t have handles and have fairly strong magnets, which made them difficult for me to open. Housekeeping was excellent and very thorough. Our room was serviced twice a day and always looked wonderful. Resort & Grounds Secrets Playa Blanca is a large, spread-out resort, and the layout can be confusing at first. The paths don’t always take you where you expect, and we definitely got turned around a few times! One helpful tip: if you get lost or simply don’t feel like walking, go to the main front desk/check-in area and request a golf cart ride. Even though the resort is large, it never felt overly crowded. We generally didn’t have to wait to be seated at restaurants, and finding pool chairs was not a problem. Wi-Fi was also reliable throughout most of the resort. Beach & Pools The beach is beautiful. There is a designated area where guests can swim, plenty of palapas for shade, swings at the beach bar, and another lovely swing area nearby. Beach cabanas were $190 with bottle service during our stay. We chose a jungle Bali bed for the day instead, and it was incredibly peaceful with excellent service. We enjoyed both the Preferred Club pool and the jungle pool. Jaimen, the pool concierge, was fantastic. He never stopped working. He was constantly checking whether we needed fresh towels, offering to clean our sunglasses, and adjusting our umbrella to give us more or less shade. That kind of attentive service really stood out. Aramis was the pool server and also was great to keep drinks flowing Food & Drinks Overall, the food was great, but Portofino was exceptional. We ate there our first night and then every other night—four dinners total. We enjoyed the filet, gnocchi, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Parmesan and lasagna. The salads were always fresh, and they did an outstanding job accommodating my food allergies. Chef Javier truly outdid himself. Every dish was cooked beautifully every single time. He came out to speak with me personally on two different evenings and took my allergies very seriously, which meant a lot to me. And then there was Chris (Cristobal). He was our waiter the first night, and after that we requested his section every time we returned. He was charming, funny and engaging while still being completely professional. He was, by far, our favorite person at the resort and honestly one of the reasons we would return. Having stayed at 14 Secrets resorts, I would give Portofino extremely high marks. We were recently at Secrets Moxché and dined at Cielo and several of the other restaurants there, and Portofino at Playa Blanca absolutely held its own. The décor was beautiful, the food was excellent, and the staff was exceptionally well trained. They spoke very good English, were friendly and worked together seamlessly as a team. It was impressive to watch. Other restaurants: El Patio was probably our least favorite dinner. Neither of us ate much, and I didn’t feel my allergies were handled with the same level of care that we experienced at Portofino. Barefoot Grill was a great casual lunch option near the pool and beach. We enjoyed quesadillas, fruit skewers and fresh guacamole. Seaside Grill had quick service and good food for breakfast and lunch. Dinner was more of a miss for us, particularly the steaks. Eliza, the hostess, was wonderful. By our second day she already knew both our names and our room number. The buffet was good for breakfast and lunch, with plenty of choices. Bordeaux was good as well, although the menu choices weren’t as much to our taste. Service was good, but for us it didn’t reach the level we experienced at Portofino. Preferred Club Lounge We really enjoyed the Preferred Club Lounge and actually experienced some of the best service of our trip there. We didn’t eat many of the snacks because we were usually too full from dinner, but the tequila chocolates paired with port made a wonderful little after-dinner dessert. Carlos, the manager, knew our names and went above and beyond to make our stay special. And Salvador, the bartender, can make just about any drink imaginable. His specialty crème brûlée martinis were amazing! Butler Service Our butlers were Chris and Duran. While we didn’t use the butler service very much, they sent us daily texts with resort activities and helpful information and were always friendly and welcoming whenever we saw them. We especially appreciated having a butler desk right in our building, where they could usually be found if we needed anything. Chris and Duran were both kind, gracious, and always available to help. Spa We booked two 80-minute massages using a promotion we received and did the hydrotherapy circuit beforehand. The hydrotherapy experience was very well organized. They allowed only four people at a time, each segment was well planned, and the temperatures were exactly what they should have been. Teresa and Martha gave us two of the best massages we’ve ever had. The entire spa experience was excellent. Overall We came to Secrets Playa Blanca for my retirement trip, so this was already a special vacation for us—and the resort made it even better. The setting is beautiful, the food was excellent overall, and several members of the staff provided the kind of personal service that turns a good vacation into a memorable one. After visiting 14 different Secrets resorts, Secrets Playa Blanca may very well be my new favorite. Portofino alone gives us a reason to return, but add in the beautiful beach, peaceful jungle areas, great pools, wonderful spa and exceptional people we met throughout the week, and this resort really won us over. We can’t wait to come back.

We had an incredible time at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres. We first visited for our honeymoon a year ago and loved it so much that we decided to come back. It was wonderful to return and celebrate that memory together. We had an amazing stay and hope to visit again!
