Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul

Had a great stay here in April. Right on the Bosphorus. 2 minute walk to a ferry which is a lovely and cheap way to get to all of the main sites in Faith. The metro is about a 15 minute walk away so not that convenient but the metros are brilliant for getting around Faith area if you get tired of walking. There are bus stops close to the hotel but we weren't savvy enough to negotiate the routes. Good breakfast. There's a Chinese restaurant which we ate in 1 night which was quite good and a main restaurant which we ate in twice which is average. The local restaurants around the hotel don't look particularly nice. I think there would have been more choice to eat locally if we had stayed in the Faith area. The rooms were great. We had booked a Deluxe Room with a partial Bosphorus view. Nice room decor. Great staff. Hotel food is expensive but then we found Istanbul overall to be expensive. Lovely stay and great trip.

Great stay. We visited the hotel after 10 years and still the hotel has been kept up well. The frontdesk staff very helpful, concierge very attentive, even bell desk very prompt. The staff is great slightly week is the housekeeping which is also not bad, the rooms however very plush and well kept for its age but need slight updating as started showing its age but still very very well kept compared to other hotels but still on the pricey side soo can do with some updating. Would definitely visit again when we come to Istanbul.

We had a wonderful stay at the Shangri-La in Istanbul. We stayed for four days, then traveled to the coast for a few days, and returned to the Shangri-La for a few more nights. From start to finish, every interaction with the hotel staff was exceptional. It was clear that the team not only takes pride in their work but also genuinely cares about the guests’ experience. Each morning, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Yazgı, the hostess at the restaurant. Her genuine smile and warm welcome set a positive tone for our day. We enjoyed many peaceful breakfasts with a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus. The breakfast selection was extensive, beautifully presented, and delicious. The chefs, waitstaff, and everyone we encountered were helpful, attentive, and incredibly polite. Their sincere effort to ensure we had everything we needed made a lasting impression. At check-in, Mr. Ismail was very kind and professional. He personally escorted us to our room to make sure we were happy with it and we absolutely were! The room was stunning, with a direct view of the Bosphorus that took our breath away. At check-out, Mr. Coşkun was equally helpful. He took the time to ask about our stay and made the check-out process smooth and easy. His genuine interest and professionalism were greatly appreciated. Lastly, we must mention Mr. Ertan, he is truly the gem of this hotel. He reminded us of the experienced and reliable doormen in New York City. He is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and kind, he consistently went above and beyond to assist us. His advice and help made everything easier. Without a doubt, he played a significant role in making our stay so memorable. We’re grateful for the warm hospitality and outstanding service at the Shangri-La. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice variety of samples of food and desserts with comparable prices. Tea hour lounge offers many different kinds of tea along with different types of coffee as much as you can drink. Compared to Pera palas hotel’s tea hour, this one is better variety, quality, and price. We loved the experience and the service.

Amazing hotel in a very good location over viewing the Bosphorus . Very clean and nice. The general manager was making sure that we got everything we need and it was nice from him that he’s checking on his guests . The stuff was just amazing and very friendly and helpful. They have very good variety breakfast.
