Travelling solo, sometimes you aren’t sure where you want to go to eat ….when I leave my hotel and walk around and I feel like that I google five star wherever I am …..today I ended up in the beautiful garden hidden behind The Four Seasons Istanbul for brunch (Old Town) …..it was a flowering garden, stunning, sunny, peaceful and perfect. Had the most beautiful avocado on toast with poached eggs read my book for about two hours and the staff dropped off nibbles, my coffee, water ……I asked for a pastry and they brought me a wee plate with a LOT of sweet treats. Added advantage of gorgeous loo’s before you head out for your day. It also was NOT expensive so a lovely morning overall - perfect in fact.

Stayed 3 months nights and explored the surrounding city with a guide. Wonderful room. We didn’t have a good view or a balcony but others in the group did for the same price - so you could ask for a better room if you don’t get one. Good included breakfasts in the hotel. We had drinks up on the roof deck before going out for our dinners, and that was sublime. The staff are helpful and friendly and the location is great. Definitely stay here if you’re looking for luxury.

My wife and I stayed at Sultanahmet for several days of our honeymoon and adored it. To start with, the location is incredible. It is immediately adjacent to Hagia Sophia and has stunning views from the rooftop bar. The staff also went above and beyond to make our experience special. The doormen and concierge in particular were welcoming and helpful, while the staff at the rooftop bar took great care of us. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to spend time seeing Istanbul’s historic old town.

We stayed at the Four Seasons Sultanahmet for 4 nights last week and were really impressed with the hotel and the staff. Despite being right in the historic centre of Istanbul there was very little night time noise and the courtyard garden was a green haven of peace, a respite from the crowded sights. The trip might have gone badly if it wasn't for the staff. My wife lost her engagement ring when we had taken the hotel shuttle to the Bosphorus four Seasons for a meal. Despite the very late hour, the night manager Doğukan Şayir took a very careful history from me, liaised with the Bosphorus staff and it was found! My wife also had a nasty reaction to a wasp sting and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone was genuinely caring. Istanbul is fascinating but intense: The Four Seasons Sultanahmet provides the perfect refuge when you need it.

Two things stood out for us at this hotel (3 if you count its proximity to the Hagia Sofa and Blue Mosque). Firstly we were upgraded to a superb room/suite with lounge, dressing room, bathroom with shower and jacuzzi and an extra master bedroom if you needed it, we didn’t. Secondly the service from every member of staff was so welcoming, friendly and efficient, from reception to the wine waitress to the restaurant staff. Possibly the best service we’ve received anywhere. Of all the countries we’ve visited, the room itself might just be bettered at the Burj Al Arab.
