Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet

Excellent stay - 4 nights

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We recently spent four nights at the wonderful Four Seasons at Sultanahmet. The hotel could not have been more central for the sights in that area. It was an oasis of calm and the atmosphere of the hotel was so nice and welcoming; efficient and friendly. We had a great room on the fourth floor with a balcony overlooking St. Sofia. Breakfasts in the garden were just prefect, before venturing out for the day. Special thanks go to the check- in staff; the amazing Concierge team who were (as usual) just so helpful and understanding and endlessly patient with us and the breakfast team and the bar team (roof-top). Thanks to Yusaf in the roof-top bar for making delicious cocktails and chatting with us most nights, and to Anil who served up great food and Turkish coffee in the dining room. Great ambassadors for the Four Seasons' brand. We would highly recommend a stay here and we look forward to our return trip.

Amazing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

My stay was amazing. The hotel is within walking distance of the major sights and local dining. The service was superb. I wouldn't expect anything less from the Four Seasons. The rooms are elegant and spacious. As it was my birthday, the hotel team ensured I was celebrated (e.g., birthday treats) every day.

Celebration Lunch

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We had lunch in Four Seasons Sultanahmet today and had lunch there in May as well. The experience was day and night. Today there were very professional welcome, Tugce hn our waiter is very new, just started 2 weeks ago and restaurant manager also started a month ago. The menu is the same but the atmosphere and the warmth were so different. Professional service, excellent english, deep knowledge of the food’s ingredients were all added and made our experience even better. Must go place if you are in Sultanahmet and like to have an authentic Turkish food with a very nice and quiet garden set up

#1 Place to stay

The old prison transformed to a boutique hotel with all the charm and character to ship you back in time. This is a must stay, close to the Hagia Sofia and all the souk for shopping.

Excellent hotel in historical part of the city

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

I returned to this hotel with family. This is a great base for seeing the old city part of Istanbul. We then transferred to the Ciragan Palace for the Bosphorus vibe and to see sites in that part of the city. A proper visit to Istanbul needs both angles. This hotel is nearly flawless; except for a longer than expected wait for my luggage on arrival, this place is excellent. Our executive room on the 3rd floor is best for good lighting; it also has 2 bathrooms. The gym was renovated and is still a bit small, but it is adequate and was designed well. The hotel has a steam room and sauna but no pool. The courtyard restaurant is excellent with an interesting and unusual but wide-ranging menu, and we ate all our 3 meals there during our 24 hour stay. The spinach flatbread is really yum. For good photos, the rooftop is not bad but even better is the 7 Hills Terrace across the street. You can order lunch or dinner and run across the street and get your photos and be back in time for your entree. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the main square where the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque are. The underground cisterns are open again and that is right against the square. The Grand Bazaar is about 10 minutes walk and is not the best shopping spot anyway. The Topkapi palace is just off the square as well. This is definitely a hotel that is within the theme park and it is especially nice to stroll in the square at night when things have quieted down and the mosques are all lit up. It's a good reason to spend a night here. Concierge was really good prearrival arranging transfers and even arranging a guide for sightseeing at the last minute after my Tours by Locals guide cancelled on us last minute due to a medical emergency. Traffic to the hotel from the airport was not as bad as I expected and neither was the transfer to the other Four Seasons hotel along the Bosphorus, which is 3 minutes walk from the Ciragan Palace hotel. If I were returning to Istanbul, I'd want to seriously consider staying at the Four Seasons Bosphorus as well.
