The Radisson Bu hotel in Istanbul at $200 euros a night way over priced our booking. We paid for breakfast and every morning we seem to be the only guests that got singled out and had to be asked for our room number. Other guests weren't ask at all they just walked straight into the breakfast area as I witnessed and I even said it to staff, Why every morning you are only ask us for our room number but no one else I received no answer just a nasty look. Breakfast was awful at best. Dried out bread, hard pancakes totally not worth the what we paid. The Hilton was actually $160 less for the same type of hotel. So do your research. The Pool was closed for maintenance. Way over priced HOTEL, but after a bad experience with a smaller hotel in Istanbul we were forced to get something quick that had a brand name like Radisson Bu. Big mistake! Everything in this hotel is way over priced, no customer service standard. We paid for a day room price because we had a late flight from Istanbul back to Athens and they locked us out of our room at 12:00noon check out. We had paid extra to check out at 6pm. As an update it appears from my billing they took that off my billing. But I still had to wonder down to the lobby in my bathing suit to fix the access room card problem. The elevator wouldn't even take me back to my floor just right to the lobby. I usually don't go to an executive hotel desk in a bathing suit, only a business suit or at least dress shirt and dress pants. Such an embarrassment! Check out was even worse with a cab waiting for us to the airport, we waited for them to slowly serve us, then said they have to check the room. I didn't get any final billing invoice only took my pending credit card amount. In checking my credit card again today total was $329 a night Canadian. The Canadian dollars per night is $329.00 ÷ 5 night stay = $1,647.21 Canadian dollars charged the management said $227.00 usd thats a hundred dollars more a night as you said I made it up. Totally disappointed for amenities or proper service for this kind of hotel. The only thing I can say is our maid service was kind and great so we left her all of our lira when leaving. Would I stay there again absolutely NO! Pick another Brand hotel like the Hilton and even the Holiday Inn was much cheaper with the same amenities. As for their recent management apology that doesn't make this right I have made a formal complaint to their corporate office and waiting on their investigation. I feel totally ripped off, because my Expedia account shows $178.00 to $227.00 maximum Canadian dollars per night for our room not $329.00 per night that was actually charged, for the amount paid would have been an executive room with a view not the basic standard room. Management made no offer to correct just they are so sorry. Me too!
