Reviews for Radisson Blu Hotel, Istanbul Sisli

Really Good

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 hours ago

Stayed here for 7 nights in September. Hotel is well presented and rooms are large and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Must give a special mention to our room attendant Birgur (hope I spelt it right). Always smiling and working hard. Please single her out for a job well done. Supermarket across the street and loads of places to eat. Only complaint is for the card readers in the lift. Was like a lottery if they were gonna work first time, or try about 10 times to read the card. I saw loads of people struggling with this.

Perfect hotel !

My family and I stayed at this hotel for the second time, and we truly hope to return again – which already says a lot about how positive our experience has been. The location is excellent: right around the hotel you’ll find everything you might need during your stay – a supermarket, a large bakery, and a bus stop just across the street. Within a 5-minute walk there’s also a big shopping mall, the metro, and plenty of stores. The hotel offers its own private parking (charged extra), but it’s worth the price. Rooms are spacious, very clean, well equipped, and the beds are extremely comfortable. I even regret not asking at the reception what kind of mattresses they use! We stayed in an apartment with a city view. While the bedroom beds were outstandingly comfortable, the sofa bed in the living room wasn’t very pleasant to sleep on – that would be my only remark and a small suggestion for management to improve. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Breakfast is excellent, with a wide variety of tasty, well-prepared food. One detail I especially liked: at the entrance there’s a scanner that guests pass through every time they enter, which made me feel safer and showed that the hotel takes security seriously. The only minor inconvenience was a slightly slow check-in, due to the parking payment process (seems like a small system issue between reception and the parking). It’s not a big deal, just something that could be improved. Overall, a great experience – I highly recommend this hotel !

Great Service and Location

A truly memorable and pleasant experience at this hotel. Firstly the location is awesome, in an area surrounded by shops, restaurants and patisseries and a 2-minute walk to Cevahir shopping mall. The hotel itself is spotless, the staff very accommodating and English-speaking. We had a minor issue with our room on arrival and this was efficiently and very kindly and promptly dealt with by Mr. Erdogan Ozyilmaz. Emre and Zeynep at reception were a joy to meet, very professional and ready to serve in every way. Fatih from housekeeping was also a joy to come across every morning, always with a smile on his face and asking whether we needed anything. The hotel offers a lovely outdoor pool as well as an indoor one although the latter was somewhat cold for us to use. The hotel offers its own coffee shop and restaurants but we didn't make use of these so I cannot really rate the eateries. Breakfast is served at the Steak n Bull restaurant and is I must say one of the best I've had so far, complete with plenty of buffet style options (that are changed from day to day so it does not become repetitive), fruits and salads, ample (and lovely) candied fruit options, a number of bread options, butter and marmalades, yoghurts and a special corner for the younger ones offering waffles, pancakes, chocolate spread and sweets. They were also attentive to our allergies which is very important. Some dishes can be ordered - the omelette was superb. Room 236 was a lovely corner room with plenty of space. The bathroom offers a spacious bath and is equipped with hand wash, body lotion, bath wash, shampoo and conditioner, appreciating that these come in large flasks and therefore the hotel seeks to be more environmentally friendly. There is also a hair dryer, bath slippers but no bathrobes. Sisli is a lovely area offering all that one may need. A metro stop is close by if one prefers it but Uber offer pretty reasonable prices to get anywhere else. Bottom line, if we were to return to Istanbul, we would definitely return to this hotel.

One Star Service in a 5 Star Building!

I booked a room at the Radisson Blu Sisli for one night prior to the start of a tour, using the pay-on-arrival option, and I received confirmation three days prior to my stay. I communicated back with the staff since they had misunderstood and had me down for a king bed, rather than 2 singles for a me and a friend. But then on the day of my flight from the US, just as we were seated on the plane, I got an email telling me that the hotel was fully booked and threatening to cancel my reservation if I didn't enter my credit card into some other site. I had no time to confirm if this email was a phishing scam, and I needed to turn my phone off for takeoff, so I sent a quick email telling them I was just on my plane but that I was on my way. Once the plane touched down, I communicated again multiple times. They then sent a cancellation as I was in the taxi. I checked the booking.com site and re-booked the same room at the same price in the taxi. The hotel management didn't even apologize when I arrived. I tried a massage at their spa the next day, but was also treated rudely there too; having been told that I could use the facility while waiting but then once I made the expected prepayment for the massage, I was treated with contempt when I asked if I could use the spa, "Well do you have a swimsuit with you?" and then was taken to a chair in an unlighted area to see if I could read while waiting. My massage ran late and was cut short too. When I departed the hotel I asked for a receipt and was given one with the wrong check-in date, I attempted to get a corrected one and was denied this, even with the intervention of a tour director. When our tour returned to the hotel, we were put in the wrong type of room and it took the tour director to get this fixed. I am a woman who was traveling with a friend and I couldn't help but wonder if I was seeing sexism. Either way, it's a beautiful facility with rude management. I won't go back.
