About the Hotel

An oasis in the historic walled city of Jaipur, Samode Haveli is a traditional Indian mansion set in a glorious garden with apartments arranged around a series of courtyards. Built 175 years ago as a residence of the rulers of Samode, it is still occupied by their descendants, who have converted their home into a luxury hotel. Bedrooms are hidden all about the rambling building and are astonishingly decorative, covered in twinkling mirror work, with ornate paintings, tiny alcoves and soaring arches. Rooms have large beds and most have private terraces. The restaurant features a spectacular hand-painted dining hall which provides a special setting for dinner, and offers a choice of Indian food or delicious Asian and European meals. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel's spa, with sauna and steam room facilities, and a range of luxurious massage therapies offered by expert professionals.

A great hotel with lovely staff

We loved our family stay at the Samode! It was a great place to relax during the heat of the day. Everything is even more beautiful than in pictures. We appreciated the amazingly helpful staff and enjoyed excellent service from Kedar in the dining room.

Every Stay Feels More Special Than the Last

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I’ve stayed at Samode Haveli many times over the years, and somehow every single stay feels even more special than the last. It’s rare to find a place that consistently delivers such warmth, beauty, and genuine hospitality. Every touchpoint — every interaction, every meal, every room I’ve stayed in — has been exceptional. The property itself is absolutely extraordinary: thoughtful, authentic, beautifully curated, and unlike anywhere else. You don’t feel like you’re staying in a hotel; you feel immersed in something timeless and deeply considered. A very special thank you to Kedar Singh, who I first met years ago when he worked at Bar Palladio and who is now an absolute star at Samode Haveli. Kedar is the definition of true hospitality — effortlessly professional, incredibly kind, and always one step ahead in the most thoughtful way. He has that rare ability to make every stay feel seamless and polished. It’s always those “you really didn’t have to do that” moments — securing the best table at a restaurant before you even ask, recommending the perfect activity for the day, or simply anticipating what you need before you realise it yourself. Kedar, thank you for making every visit unforgettable. Samode Haveli remains one of my favourite places in the world, and I already can’t wait to return.

A great place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

A two night stay whilst touring. A stunning property with many original features. The room (suite) was a delight. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is good. Food - breakfasts are good. Loved the teapot and timer! Our dinner was fine but we didn't anticipate the bones in the lamb dish though it did make it very flavoursome. The bloody Mary was a disappointment being in a small glass and very watery. Not the norm in the UK. It was disappointing that the roof bar closed so early. The ground floor bar was empty...where was everyone?? The hotel did seem quiet. We had some laundry done and found it very expensive. Other hotels were a lot more reasonable. We remarked that we could probably have bought new! The very minor negatives were far outweighed by the hotel location, ambience, lovely staff. All in all a delightful stay in a great city. If we return to Jaipur, we will return to the Samode Haveli. Thank you.

First class hotel with wonderful architecture and beautiful rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This is a spectacularly beautiful hotel with lovely rooms, wonderful architecture, and a great pool. The dinner and breakfast was at the top end amongst several excellent hotels I stayed at in India. I noticed during my travels that some hotels were very relaxed and friendly without a trace of self-importance, while others had a self consciousness as if you were to feel privileged for being there. This hotel was in the second category. They pointed out on arrival, and in a written notice in the rooms, that tips were to be handed in to reception, not given to individuals (this is on top of the automatic service charge for drinks and meals). This is, however, a minor complaint. The staff were helpful and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed pretty well every aspect of my stay. The gym is small but well equipped. It has a/c which is switched off until you turn it on, which meant it was stiflingly hot. But given that I was the only one in the gym, I don't begrudge the saving of energy. The restaurant and rooms were perfectly cool and comfortable.
