A wonderful first time experience
We had a great stay recently at MO! They did a fantastic surprise for my husband and son by decorating the room and we were also escorted to the room upon arrival. Tami & Sheryl did an awesome job together with Hskp team Reza. The room size was really spacious overlooking the city and very clean. My son enjoys the bathtub the most. It’s near GI and Plaza Indonesia which is walkable and you don’t have to get stuck in traffic to reach there. The hskp team was very detailed during our stay and gave us a surprise daily like bedroom slippers for my son, extra water bottles, cable strap. Kudos to the Danv & Reza! The only downside was during checkout when they asked me to pay for breakfast which we did not consume and wanted to charge my cc for it. That upset me quite a bit but after much arguing, they apologised and released my preauth.

Overpriced, Overrated, and Far from 5-Star
Overpriced, Overrated, and Far from 5-Star I recently stayed for 5 nights at the Mandarin Oriental, paying a premium rate with the expectation of world-class service. Instead, I was met with a series of disappointments that made this feel more like paying for a brand name than for genuine luxury. 1. Hidden spa charges – Spa products came with extra fees that were never disclosed upfront. This felt deceptive and left a bad impression right from the start. 2. No smart TVs – In 2025, it’s unacceptable for a high-end hotel to offer only basic TVs without streaming capabilities. 3. Lackluster pool – Small, plain, and uninspiring for a property claiming 5-star status. 4. Disappointing breakfast – Very limited Western options, few fresh fruits, and the juice was cheap powdered mix, not fresh or organic. 5. Excessive laundry rates – Prices were shockingly high, even compared to other luxury hotels. 6. Pointless daily minibar checks – Staff came every single day just to inspect the minibar. This was intrusive and unnecessary — guests can request refills if needed. 7. Cold farewell – At check-out, no one offered to help with our luggage. It seems the warm welcome is only reserved for arrivals, not departures.

Luxurious stay in Jakarta
All staff were so kind and helpful. The Executive Lounge was a great place for me to work as it was a combined trip (business and pleasure). The room was absolutely comfortable and luxurious.

Amazingly Warm
Mandarin Oriental Jakarta’s service surpassed almost all hotels that I have stayed. From the lovely correpondenses before my arrival to the warm welcome to the daily service throughout the entire stay. Tami & Ochi were absolutely wonderful & warm & gracious from their email replies to their exceptional service in making my family’s holiday special. Estee was truly amazing when checking us in at hotel. She is soo sweet in making the little arrangements for the rooms. Always checking in on us during our stay to make sure all was well. She & Xavier was helpful in answering all my queries & assisting whenever needed. There was a welcome cake waiting in the room when we arrived. On our 3rd day, there was a wall decoration & another cake to celebrate the special birthday occasion. My stay at this hotel has truly been amazing, unbelievable & pure heavenly. I would definitely come back & recommend this hotel.
