Reviews for Raffles Jakarta

One of the most memorable stay in my life with the most amazing hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We had one of the most memorable stay in Raffles Jakarta for our anniversary. We were upgraded to a beautiful Artist Suite, which was worth every single penny. Check-in was seamless and the welcome amenities were delicious chocolates. Breakfast at Arts Cafe was also amazing with a wide variety of food available. Raffles Club was also a highlight of our stay with great afternoon tea and cocktail evening, while Writers Bar offer a great selection of drinks. What really differentiates this hotel is the staff, as everyone we interacted really try to provide us with an outstanding services. I want to express my gratitude to Fachrul, who had supported me in planning a surprise proposal to my girlfriend at the hotel. I was truly amazed by his willingness and enthusiasm to support me with many logistical preparations for my proposal, and he even gave me a couple of great ideas, which was made into reality in such a short amount of time. Fachrul had definitely gone above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I also appreciate the team’s effort to really make our stay memorable: Etho, Rashya, Qorry, Salma, the team at Writers Bar, and many other staff in the hotel. One negative thing about the entire experience was only the miscommunication during reservation change requests, but that was resolved promptly by Mr Faggioli, and we have overwhelming positive experiences in the hotel. I will definitely come back next time to stay at Raffles Jakarta.

Such A Wonderful Experience

Came to Raffles Jakarta for lunch with friends and had such a good time! We ate at Arts Cafe and the food was delicious, and everyone was really friendly throughout our visit. It was actually my first time here, and I really enjoyed getting to see Writers Bar as well. Thank you Kak Theresa for looking out for us and making sure we were well taken care of. Would love to come back!

Another lovely visit to Raffles Jakarta. This time I came with friends for lunch at Arts Cafe and we had such a nice afternoon. The food was great as always, and I’ve also always had a soft spot for Writers Bar. A big thank you to Kak Theresa for always taking such good care of us during our every visit. Kak Daniel was also wonderful during our lunch and made sure we had everything we needed. Always such a pleasure to be back.

Disappointing stay due to repeated operational failures & poor coordination

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I had much higher expectations for this hotel, especially considering its reputation. Unfortunately, while there were some positive aspects, they were overshadowed by a series of operational failures that should not occur at this level of hospitality. Check-in was smooth and efficient. However, despite being a Gold member, there was no recognition of my membership during arrival. We stayed with our toddler. The room itself was clean and generally well maintained, but several maintenance issues quickly became apparent. The bathroom sink was clogged twice during our stay. Although engineering attended after the first complaint, the same issue occurred again shortly afterwards, meaning the problem was never actually resolved. The power outlet at the work desk was also loose, making it unreliable for charging devices. The most frustrating part of the stay was the constant noise coming from the room above. Throughout the night and during the day, loud dragging noises could clearly be heard, likely during housekeeping activities ( in evening) . It was disruptive enough to ruin our sleep. Interestingly, whenever I contacted the hotel, the noise immediately stopped and the room became completely quiet, suggesting the issue was identifiable and preventable. A luxury hotel should be proactive in preventing this level of disturbance instead of only reacting after complaints. Another small but telling detail was the handwritten welcome card in the room. While I appreciated the gesture, the card still contained internal notes and writing that were clearly intended for hotel staff rather than guests. It appeared that the card had not been properly checked before being placed in the room. Although this may seem like a minor oversight, it reflects a lack of attention to detail—something that is especially important in a luxury hotel where personalized touches are expected to feel polished and intentional. One positive aspect was the 24-hour complimentary tea and coffee service delivered by the butler. Bathroom amenities were generally complete, and although mouthwash was initially unavailable, the team eventually managed to provide one, which I appreciated. Turndown service was inconsistent. The first evening was well done, but on the second evening bottled water in the bathroom was not replenished. Breakfast at Arts Café was enjoyable in terms of food quality, but service standards were inconsistent. Service was noticeably slow ( waiting someone pouring water ), possibly due to understaffing. More concerning was the lack of attention to detail. A cup with spilled coffee was still served to the table, and a juice labeled as watermelon turned out to be guava because the staff admitted it had been mistakenly poured in the kitchen. These are basic quality control issues that should have been identified before reaching guests. I would like to sincerely thank Ananda, Chelsia, and Mr. Kevin for their outstanding hospitality during breakfast. Their professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to assist were among the few highlights of this stay. The most serious issue, however, was the billing process. My restaurant charges were posted twice to my room account. Initially, I was told this was caused by a system error. After further clarification, it became clear that the duplicate posting actually resulted from poor coordination between the Front Office and the restaurant. Even more concerning, the duplicate charge was processed without my signature or authorization. This is not a minor mistake. Guests should never have to audit their own bills to ensure they are charged correctly. Accurate billing is one of the most fundamental responsibilities of any hotel, and failures in this process directly undermine guest trust. What disappointed me even more was the hotel’s response. After 3 hours and calling the line, they still working with my issues and after 5 mins they calling me. The Duty Manager apologized, but the follow-up felt routine and lacked any real sense of accountability. The issue was treated as though it were an ordinary operational mistake rather than a significant service failure involving guest finances. At no point did I feel the seriousness of the situation was fully acknowledged. For families traveling with toddlers, I would also suggest managing expectations. While children’s bathroom amenities are available, the hotel provides very limited family-friendly facilities. The kids’ corner is very small ( mess around and no one take care) and there are no in-room activities such as puzzles, coloring sets, or simple toys to help entertain young children. This stay left me with mixed feelings. The property itself has potential, and several employees genuinely delivered excellent service. Unfortunately, repeated maintenance problems, poor operational coordination, billing inaccuracies, and an underwhelming recovery process significantly overshadowed the positives. Luxury hospitality is not defined only by beautiful rooms or good food—it is defined by consistency, attention to detail, and guest confidence. Sadly, during this stay, those expectations were not met.

Attended a beautiful wedding at Raffles Hotel and it was nothing short of spectacular. The venue is timeless, the service is impeccable, and every detail was so well thought out. A special mention to Jessica from the bouquet staff. Her attentiveness and warm service really stood out. She made sure everything looked perfect and the guests felt taken care of. Raffles Hotel truly sets the standard for luxury weddings.
