Perched high above the desert capital of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the last of the great palaces of India and one of the largest private residences in the world – set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens. Designed by renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester, the palace is a blend of eastern and western architectural influences. Its majestic 105 – foot high cupola is influenced by the Renaissance, while the towers draw inspiration from Rajput tradition. The lavish interiors with gilt furniture and elegant artwork follow the Art Deco style, complemented by the exotic murals by the self-exiled Polish artist Stefan Norblin. In 1997, the palace was converted into a luxury hotel, and is now managed by TAJ. With this, the TAJ extends its grand luxury palace experience to the city of Jodhpur.

Our stay at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur exceeded every expectation among the most memorable experiences of our life. The sense of grandeur began the moment we arrived at the entrance gates, where we were immediately treated like royalty. What impressed us most was the exceptional attention to detail from every staff member we encountered. While this level of service may be standard for them, as guests we were completely captivated by the warm hospitality throughout our visit. Several staff members made our stay remarkable: Rajnandini made our check-in seem like an experience in itself. Mr. Saddique at Pillars Restaurant Mr. Shobit Mathur, the Chef Mr. Karanji Sikander Singh Bhati gave us a personal tour of the hotel and took the utmost care to ensure we had the most brilliant experience Every moment at the palace left a lasting impression. The staff responded to our requests with genuine enthusiasm and care, making our stay truly unforgettable.

We stepped out of the hotel car to a fanfare and a memorable welcome ritual. We were offered prosecco at check in Mr Sikander - made sure our check in was smooth and he also conducted an insightful tour of the palace and the history. He kindly provided a glimpse into the opulent Maharaja and Maharani suites. It is highly recommended that you do the property tour which is hosted every day at 17:30 and visit the hotel museum where the throne room is on display. The team at the restaurants were extremely friendly and professional Rudresh, Tiwash, Aman, Shashank to name a few. They constantly made sure our needs were well taken care of. The two chefs on both evenings came to say hello and seek feedback. They agreed to make Mulligatawny soup on request as it was not available on the menu Mr. Vikram and Mr Hukum (Singh) ensured our rooms were well kept at all times They provided a surprise foot bath/foot soak service after our excursion of Jodhpur city. Our spa treatments were amazing, thank you to Esther and her colleague. We felt relaxed after the 90-min treatment Mr Chain Singh graciously agreed to let us take photos with him as he was immaculately dressed in his regal uniform. Everyone made us feel at home and at ease in this magnificent palace of the Maharajah. The stay of a lifetime.

We had a truly unforgettable experience at the stunning Palace. Everything from the hospitality to food was just amazing. Chef Shobhit and all other chefs made sure we got whatever we wanted in food, just the way we liked it. The staff at restaurants especially Mahavir ji, Karanji, Aman ji all were extremely courteous and helpful. A special mentions to Sikanderji to show us around the palace and the housekeeping staff including Khanchandji and VikramJi for making our anniversary experience special. Overall, the stay was everything we wanted for our anniversary celebration.

Our family of four recently stayed at Hotel Umaid Bhavan, Jodhpur, and it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and genuine care. The property is stunning, beautifully built in traditional Rajasthani heritage style with intricate decor, lovely courtyards, and vibrant interiors that make you feel like you’re living in a royal palace. Our rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with beautiful views of the city. Watching the sunset from the rooftop with a perfect view of Mehrangarh Fort was simply magical. The breakfast spread was also excellent and well-prepared. The staff deserves special appreciation for their polite and attentive service. Sikander Singh Bhati was knowledgeable about everything!! They were always ready to help with recommendations, travel arrangements, and anything we needed during our stay. The location is convenient and close to major attractions, making sightseeing very easy. Overall, Hotel Umaid Bhavan blends heritage, comfort, and hospitality perfectly. It gave us a memorable family holiday experience, and we would love to stay again. Highly recommended for families and anyone visiting Jodhpur!!

We had an amazing stay at the Umaid Bhawan Palace during our Rajasthan trip in November of 2025. The best part is the personalized service delivered with a lot of warmth and heart. Sikander gave us a beautiful tour and settled us in the room. He was always around to help and connected through WhatsApp. Swaroop Singh organized a Queen’s retreat dinner in the palace lawns - made the evening very special with a photographer and accompanying music plus some nice surprises! Overall, we had a great experience. Highly recommend the vintage car, a Pontiac 1933, drive to Mehrangarh Fort. The food, hospitality, ambiance and beauty of Umaid Bhawan Palace will stay with us for a long time! We will definitely be back
