The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, hidden within the folds of Maui's verdant landscape, is the picture of posh. This decorated AAA Five-Diamond Award beachfront resort, which recently underwent a $180-million transformation, sits on a 54-acre expanse and is more magnificent than ever. From the airy guest rooms to the half-dozen restaurants, The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua will amaze even the most seasoned of travelers. Its stylish rooms boast new furnishings and amenities, including dark wood floors, flat-panel televisions, sleek marble bathrooms with showers and separate tubs, spacious lanais, and island-inspired artwork. Insomniacs will enjoy the convenience of the 24-hour ocean view fitness center and yoga studio. Perhaps the resort's piece de resistance, though, is the addition of a new 17,500-square-foot spa retreat boasting 15 plush treatment rooms, private outdoor shower gardens, a pair of al fresco couples cabanas, plus relaxation areas fashioned after volcanic stone grottos and outfitted with whirlpools, steam rooms and saunas.

Amazing stay. Personal touches and service shine. Location is a bit sleepy compared to wailea, but very restful. Much better stay than our stay at the Waldorf in wailea later in this same trip.

The hotel and resort are exactly what you expect from Ritz. Amazing staff, endless amenities and gorgeous views. The only thing that made me not rate a 5 is that we booked a garden view 2 bd residential suite totaling 10k for 5 nights. The garden view was actually looking at the back of the Banyan Restaurant. We got to see the inner workings. Food drop off, staff hanging out and chatting, HVAC and a septic truck pumping at 5:30am. It was disappointing. It really is the layout of the entire resort. One whole building looks right at the back of the restaurant

We spent our anniversary here and I must say, it’s my new favorite Hawaiian hotel! We had just spent a few nights at the grand Wailea and loved it! All was great! But moving on to the Ritz was a whole other thing! Slower, less crowded, low-rise. The check-in woman (dang- I thought I’d never forget her name, but I waited too long to review and have unfortunately forgotten) was fabulous! She remembered my name every time I saw her! I’ve learned since that that is a hallmark of the RC experience! They make you feel extremely welcome and seen! Our room was wonderful, the breakfast buffet was fabulous, the live music/cocktails at night was a great vibe, the food and drinks at the pool were delicious, and the 2 activity walks I went on were very enjoyable! The beach was great, as was lunch at Burger Shack at the beach! Side note, I ran out of my fav eye cream and the spa had it for the same price as I pay back home! I was shocked-I expected a huge mark up! Since this is a Marriott property, we were able to enjoy the perks that come with being a Bonvoy member! The only slight downside is that it is windy up there in Kapalua. We knew that it would be before we even booked it so we were mentally prepared! Regardless of the wind, I absolutely highly recommend this resort and cannot wait to return! Oh, also, it’s one of the few places I’ve been over the years that presents you with a lei upon arrival!

What a great resort and really made us feel like family. I had read some of the reviews and comments about being older and just didn’t see that at all. The Customer Service is over the top and felt it every day. When we checked in, Mary Beth was talking with my son and daughter-in-law about how he had just finished up his first year of law school and she had just finished up her 3 CPA exam. Later that day we got an incredible basket of Maui goodies in our room with an incredible card. Mary Beth….you have made us a client for life…thanks Ritz Carlton!!!

Wonderful stay. Everything was perfect for our 3 night stay. Great view of the ocean from everywhere at the resort including our room. Beautiful room, loved the bathroom. First class throughout. Service was impeccable. If there were any downsides, Kapalua is a bit remote, the beach is too rough to swim in, and it can get quite windy at times. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Make sure to visit Merriman's Point for a drink and the view. Have breakfast at The Sea House
