Camp Jabulani

I can't imagine you will have a better elephant experience. The elephants here are very well cared for and not exploited, which is extremely important to me. I did have other experiences elsewhere and this was the best. We did love the room and decor; really made us feel we were in Africa. Very good staff especially the lodge manager, chef and our guide Nathan. One crazy thing is that many of the animals come up to a watering hole right by where you are eating-warthogs, giraffe, zebra and more.

You will be hard pressed to find an experience like this one. "No problem" "Of course" "Right away" is the vocabulary that greets you with a smile from every single staff member, from the managers, to the guides, to the servers, butlers and housekeepers. Whatever you desire, they make it so. The decor (gorgeous woods, stone and natural materials) and the attention to detail in every tiny corner of every room is enough to keep your eyes in awe for days on end. However, the giraffe that shows up near your breakfast table might steal your attention away just a bit. You really won't know what to look at first. As you would imagine, the animal experience is the focal point and it is unique here: you are able to get up close and feed several of the Jabulani herd of rescued elephants that are cared for on the property (where else can you do that?). Secondly, you will see wild animals in a very special way: you'll notice they are incredibly relaxed and don't even flinch at an engine turning on and off when we approach. Lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and more just hung out calmly by our vehicle, I kid you not, they practically pose for photo opportunities, faces often in a soft smile. There is a special ethic of respect here from the Jabulani staff, and the animals respond to it. On every level, the Jabulani Safari experience is the trip of a lifetime. You owe it to yourself not to miss it.

The best possible game viewing. Our guide, Kyle was not only extremely knowledgeable and personable, but determined to track down every animal we wanted to see - even driving well across the reserve so we could catch the wild dogs. Planning to return!

Everyone was welcoming, respectful, considerate, helpful and knowledgeable. Good language skills. Food was exceptional with beautiful presentation. Safari rides were safe and adventurous and up close but with respect for the animals. The venue itself was beautiful and private offering every comfort. The elephant experience was amazing. Excellent Lodge for wildlife all round and in particular for those who like to get up close to elephant. The Elephant Experience is a must. Food and staff worthy of Relais Chateau’s recognition. Very comfortable stay.
