Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort

We wanted to have the experience of a dinner by the sea... unfortunately a beautiful place with mediocre service, the food came cold, upon arrival we went with the golf cart from the reception to the Aghata restaurant, on the way back no one came to pick us up... and let's not forget the high bill in relation to the services and the food... a shame for the beauty of the place!

The course is spectacular and pretty tough all along the cliffs. The tee shots are scary from the tee, but actually if I played it again I would be less scared as you have more space than you think. But mis the fairways and it’s a lost ball. The clubhouse experience doesn’t match the course, as it is very disjointed.

1 - I was excited to surprise my husband with a birthday weekend away but the night before he has an accident illness and deemed unable to fly by the hospital. I immediately called the hotel to cancel and shared the doctor note. I asked if any part could be refunded (hotel, golf, buggies) etc as I paid in advance and was told I needed to talk to a manager. I emailed and never heard back, I called 6 days in a row and no one could help or even answer my question. When I finally got a hold of a manager I was told they would talk to owner - at this point I was just seeing any option and looking to get in writing confirmation they wouldn’t reimburse my trip for my insurance purposes. Well safe to say it’s 2 months later and I still have 20plus unanswered calls and 12 ignored emails and still out 1300 EUR.

We loved it! The views are absolutely beautiful and the walkable “village” area is charming. It feels like being in Italy. It was very quiet when we went in mid July. We had dinner at the main restaurant and thought it was fantastic. The four cheese pizza was one of the best things I ate on our whole trip to Bulgaria. The waiter (he was also a bartender in the night club) was so friendly and we had great service. Breakfast was also great. The whole property is just idyllic - there is lavender blooming with butterflies and birds everywhere. It’s so calm and peaceful. The rooms are large and comfortable, with a kitchenette. Coming from the US, the value for money was great. Wish we could have stayed longer!

I'd seen pictures of the course but nothing prepares you for just how stunning the views are from everywhere. It's tricky but like every other course, if you hit straight it's not a problem. Not as well kept as it could be, but hey, just enjoy the incredible experience. Room is perfect too. Very large and comfortable. Drinks a bit pricy.
