Sheen Falls Lodge

Outstanding! An oasis just outside Kenmare (with free transport into town and back on request). Incredible grounds, enormous well appointed room with very comfortable bedding, extremely quiet. It is like staying in your own country manor house with fabulous staff. Food on site was also very very good, with breakfasts made to order. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Best hotel of our entire vacation.

Our stay at Villa Verde was 5 star plus. The cottage was exceptionally comfortable and spatious and was a real home from home. It is very tastefully furnished with atractive furniture and art works and excellent facilities throughout. The landscape surrounding the cottage is very well maintained and of course the views across the water to the surrounding mountains are superb. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous and very responsive to our requests. We experienced the warmest of welcomes which included a most generous 'welcome' hamper! We were a party of 5, however, the Villa comfortably accommodates 8 people. We certainly recommend this Villa for a very special experience.

We were quite disappointed. The grounds and the staff were great, but the place is tired and in need of a major renovation. We paid up for a large Estate Suite with a view. Our room was large but pretty empty. The decor was tired and outdated. The furniture worn. The bathroom fixtures were outdated and the shower small. The plumbing made noises at odd times gurgling. Breakfast was underwhelming and quite slow. We stay at lots of Relais & Chateaux properties and this was our first disappointment and the most expensive room of our whole trip. Also, we weren’t happy to see they had a horse tied up in a stall in the dark where it couldn’t lay down - not good welfare. I would not recommend it.

This was a wonderful experience. The breakfasts were outstanding, as was the dinner at The Falls restaurant. We did not have a great experience at The Stables restaurant, but our daughter had when she had been there previously. The horseback riding was a lot of fun, and Analiza in the spa provided a first class facial and hot stone massage.

We had an amazing stay at Sheen Falls and it truly deserves 5 stars. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a lovely hot whiskey which was such a warm and thoughtful touch. The complimentary glass of prosecco with dinner made the evening feel extra special. The views throughout the hotel were absolutely phenomenal and created such a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were excellent from start to finish — friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The food, service, and overall experience were outstanding. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend Sheen Falls to anyone looking for a luxury getaway.
