From the moment we arrived, the front office team greeted us with a warmth and sincerity that immediately made us feel at home. Driving up to the front of the estate is unforgettable — the 614 acre grounds and the Regency mansion rising before you are stunningly impressive in person. The craftsmanship throughout the house is extraordinary: intricate multi species wood floors, beautifully carved moldings, and rooms, doors, and ceilings that reflect a level of artistry rarely seen today. Ballyfin is a masterpiece of design and heritage, and walking through it feels like stepping into a living work of art. The estate itself is equally remarkable. The peaceful, serene grounds are meticulously manicured, and the paved walking trails make exploring the property tranquil, safe, and scenic. We walked miles each morning without ever duplicating our steps. Every turn offers a new photo opportunity — the lake, the walled garden, the church, and the observatory. Climbing the stairs of the observatory reveals a refreshing surprise at the top, a moment that captures the quiet magic of Ballyfin. Our Deluxe Room was beautifully appointed, blending historical decadence with modern comfort. Antiques, textures, and thoughtful details created an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and deeply personal. It was the kind of room you look forward to returning to — warm, inviting, and perfectly aligned with the spirit of the estate. The State Dining Room was as visually impressive as the gastronomic cuisine it presented. Each meal was refined, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. We also enjoyed evenings in the Cellar Bar, indulging in bespoke cocktails and their impressive menu. The highlight was being warmly greeted by local Irish musicians who entertained guests with lively, joyful music. It was a wonderful evening that captured the heart and soul of Irish hospitality. What truly sets Ballyfin apart is the staff. Every member of the team was dedicated to making our stay as comfortable, friendly, and hospitable as possible. Their attentiveness never felt scripted; it felt genuine, heartfelt, and rooted in a culture of true service. For four nights, Ballyfin was our home base — and “home” is the word that matters most. It felt like home in the way only the finest hospitality can achieve. Ballyfin is more than a hotel — it is a place that stays with you long after you leave. The beauty of the estate, the serenity of the grounds, the artistry of the house, and the genuine kindness of the staff create an atmosphere that feels restorative in a way few places can achieve. Our four nights there were filled with quiet joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging that is rare in modern hospitality. Ballyfin became our home during that time, and it is a place we will carry in our hearts until we return.

This place is genuinely next level. From the moment you arrive, everything about Ballyfin Demesne feels special – the stunning setting, the exceptional service and the intimate atmosphere created by the small number of guests. The piano player added another lovely touch and made the whole experience feel even more unique. As for the food, it was outstanding from start to finish. I honestly couldn’t find a single negative thing to say about the experience. It is undoubtedly a special occasion and premium experience, but in my opinion, it is absolutely worth the money. One of the best dining experiences you could have in Ireland.

We arrived at Ballyfin after a travel nightmare at 7 am the day we were to check in. Pat welcomed us with open arms and took us on a fun and fact filled tour of the house. We were fed a delicious breakfast and began to explore the grounds waiting for our room. The grounds are beautiful and give you a peek how the Irish aristocracy would have lived. We throughly enjoyed our falconing with Tim and his amazing hawk Maude was magnificent. Totally unique Irish experience. Another highlight was Lionel who started out as a carpenter renovating the property and stayed on because of the love for the grounds. He taught us to shoot clays and was a wonderful and patient instructor and got us to both achieve braces (2 clays in a row) first time out. The rooms throughout the manor are well kept and filled with history. They are beautiful and you feel as if you have stepped into your own reenactment of Downton Abby. We enjoyed a lovely birthday picnic on the grounds, the smoked salmon sandwiches are delicious and I will dream about their shortbread for a long while. The gardens are extraordinary. Not only do they grow all the flowers that adorn the interior spaces they also grow many of the herbs and vegetables served in the dining room. We loved walking through the walled garden seeing what was being set aside to be cooked that day. Great pool and sauna facilities to end your day, pack a swimsuit! The people really make the experience memorable here, the GM checked in on us daily. Our favorite property hands down on our travels through Ireland, if your plans take you anywhere near Ballyfin it is worth the splurge.

Must be one of the Best hotels we have stayed, everything was perfect, we will definitely come back.

It really is such a magical place. I treated my husband for his 80th birthday and from the time you get inside the gates it’s just like a different world. Every inch of that huge mansion is perfection, probably the best restoration I’ve ever seen. Drinks and dinner were a real event, our two dinner guests just loved the whole experience. Breakfast was perfection. Only downside is that you have to leave the next day!! 😅
