Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort

Probably one of the best hotels in the Bophut bay once you have left the very busy, polluted main road. You come into a wonderful garden, far away from the noise. But being allergic to pigeons there are pigeons both around the pool and on the beach. I had to go to the beach outside of the hotel private area. Rough sand on the beach, not so nice to walk because your feet go deep inside the sand. Be careful that the luxury sea front suite has no direct access to the beach (even if located in front of the beach). This suite is located in a nice private garden, the private pool is covered by a store, so no sun. The store is meant to give privacy because above the suite there are 2 floors. This doesn't show on the picture on the webb site. Staff is very caring. The hotel has wonderful gardens, well kept, and is quiet. 2 restaurants, thaï and south american inspired, both good. Breakfast is plentyful. Hotel located a few minutes walk to the night market which can be reached via the beach promenade (with many, many restaurants).

We stayed at the Anantara Boohut for six nights in February and had a great time. The service, location and food, particularly the buffet breakfast, all exceeded our expectations. We found the pool and beach area very relaxing during the day and, for those who would prefer not to eat in the hotel every night, Fisherman’s Village is just a few minutes walk away and offers a large range of really good bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The location was perfect for us. Service levels throughout the hotel are exceptional so it’s hard to single out anyone in particular but the ladies who made up our room twice a dat were fantastic. We had only one issue during our visit. We had a garden suite room (119) which had an adjoining door to the room next door. This was locked, of course, but offered little or no sound insulation. Unfortunately for us, a baby in our neighbours room woke and was left to cry several times each night. We have all been there so we understand but it did not enhance our holiday! This was partly our fault rather than the hotel because, I’m sure that had we asked to move rooms they would have obliged. We couldn’t be bothered to move, assumed it would improve which, in hindsight, was a mistake. I would certainly ask a few questions during check in next time! If ever we return to Ko Samui this I’d definitely where we would stay.

This was our first trip to Thailand. We went to Bangkok, Khao Lak and Bophut. If you want top service from wonderful staff in a quiet, beautiful, relaxing hotel on the beach you can’t beat the Bophut Anantara.
