I would like to share a few words of appreciation about Moulan and Fruit from the reception team at Anantara. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us warmly and made us feel truly cared for. Their service was above and beyond anything we expected. Moulan accompanied us throughout our stay with great kindness, professionalism, patience, and respect. Fruit was also extremely helpful, attentive, and kind, and contributed greatly to making our experience smooth and enjoyable. Both of them made a real difference to our stay and are wonderful representatives of Anantara. We truly feel they deserve recognition for their exceptional service. Thank you, Moulan and Fruit, for making our stay so special.

We had the best time at Anantara Lawana. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with the warmest smile and hospitality. The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable & it was cleaned daily. We loved having breakfast by the pool with the amazing beach views, and the breakfast spread was delicious. Special shoutouts to the amazing staff at breakfast- Nikki, Irene, Meena and everyone else (sorry don’t know all the names) and also Khai and the pool team, who always checked on us and treated us so nicely. Words really cannot do our experience justice. We have just returned from 13 wonderful nights at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui, where we celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary, and the whole experience was exceptional from beginning to end. Even before we arrived, the team demonstrated the level of service we would come to experience throughout our stay. At the start of our holiday we encountered travel problems and had to let the hotel know that we would be arriving a day later than planned. Their response was simply: “Not a problem. We will see you when you arrive, and please don’t worry about anything.” That immediately took away a great deal of stress. When we finally arrived, we were given a very warm welcome and shown to our pool villa. Everything was carefully explained to us and, from that moment onwards, nothing ever seemed too much trouble. The pool villa itself was exceptional — spacious, peaceful and beautifully maintained. It was the perfect place to relax, unwind and recover after travelling, and having our own private pool made the whole experience feel particularly special. Breakfast was fantastic, with an enormous choice and something to suit almost everyone. The breakfast team worked incredibly hard and were always friendly and accommodating. Yes, it can become busy at certain times, particularly around 9.00am when many guests seem to arrive at once, but that is hardly unusual for a popular hotel. If that bothers you, the simple answer is to go a little earlier or later. The hotel and grounds are beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. The grounds team work constantly to keep everything looking immaculate. The beach is secluded, peaceful and very clean, and the team looking after both the pool and beach areas deserve particular praise. They were friendly, attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. We were also really pleased to see that the hotel actively discourages people from reserving sunbeds and disappearing for hours. There are clear notices explaining that towels and belongings may be removed if sunbeds are simply being reserved. It was refreshing to see the policy actually being enforced. The nearby town is around a 20-minute walk away. If you do not feel quite that energetic, taxis and the local truck taxis are readily available — although it is definitely worth agreeing the price before getting in! One of the absolute highlights of our stay was Tree Tops. The setting is beautiful, the food was exceptional and the whole experience was worth every penny. If you are considering booking, I would highly recommend the first sitting so that you can enjoy the sunset while dining amongst the trees. Most importantly, though, what makes Anantara Lawana so special is its people. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay memorable. There are far too many people to mention individually, and I would happily say something positive about every team we met. However, we would particularly like to say a very special thank you to: Khun (คุณ) Fern, คุณ Arthur, คุณ Irene, The Sandals team, คุณ Kai and to everyone else who helped make our 35th Wedding Anniversary such a memorable and special occasion. We arrived hoping for a wonderful holiday and left feeling that we had experienced something genuinely special. Thank you to everyone at Anantara Lawana. We will remember our time with you for many years to come.

The location of the hotel is north of Chaweng, just a few minutes’ walk from a couple of local restaurants, which made it really convenient to walk out for dinner. Getting around the rest of the island was easy; there are taxis across the road or local transport driving past to flag down. We went to Chaweng twice and also to fisherman's village. Found both places super crowded, but plenty to do and see. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very welcoming. The spa was fantastic—I used it twice and each time had a wonderful experience. The spa is on the pricier side compared to the local places but a more special experience. We had a plunge pool room. The room was spotless and quiet for the first few days. Unfortunately a family then had the room upstairs and were very noisy so bear that in mind when paying extra for a pool room as you will have someone above you. The main downside was breakfast. It got quite busy, and while the staff did their best to find everyone a table, and provide top service the buffet area was a quite crowded. Overall, we loved it and would return!
