The InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort sits perched on the western coast of Thailand’s third largest island, boasting views of the Gulf of Thailand and the five islands beyond. The resort’s spacious rooms and villas are designed with traditional Thai features like vaulted ceilings, ornate fretwork, and intricate, open-air sala pavilions inspired by Buddhist temples. Baah Thai Spa sits nestled on a cliff overlooking Taling Ngam Bay, surrounded by a lush forest of banyan & palm trees. The spa specializes in relaxation treatments, utilizing local tropical elements, like Thai oil, kaffir lime leaf, and Samui Island Coconut husks. At Amber Restaurant, which overlooks the Gulf of Thailand, Master Chef Tao infuses Thai classics with his own style, dishing up rich Kurobuta Pork Chops. On the beach, guests can dine by lantern and torchlight at Flames Restaurant, specializing in curries and grilled seafood. The area’s seclusion, relaxed atmosphere, and reputation for brilliant sunsets earned The InterContinental Samui the title of “Leading Honeymoon Resort” in Asia.

Im going to be brutally honest here.Firstly the staff were all of the highest calibre in particular Tangmo, she was exceptional and had a smile to light up any room, John the driver was so very nice and helpful also, credit to both. The price was far too high I think.Even though I had paid for bed and dinner, the menu was restricted to what we could choose and we were charged even for drinking water!!! We had to have maintainence out twice as the garden jacuzzi wasnt working, the back gate was slatted, meaning(and I tested this) you could see right into our room and private pool, so privacy was non-existant. The rooms were kept spotless and my step daughter loved the spa bath, which she enjoyed while Papa enjoyed a beer on the beach.Would I revisit?, possibly but not at that price, and possibly alone next time. Please pass on my regards and thanks to all in particular Tangmo and John.

The resort was fabulous- one word describe the resort “Wonderful wow “ The staff was so friendly and polite Would loved to stay longer. The only thing it was a bit to remote for us but we had so much fun with the people there We met lovely people from Sydney and New Zealand

Location: Perched high with uninterrupted 180° ocean views and a peaceful, crowd-free beachfront. The only downside is limited ocean access due to a coral reef. Villas and rooms are well spaced for privacy and quiet. Rooms: Spacious, clean, and well maintained with classic attractive interiors. Not new, but very comfortable. Atmosphere: Beautiful, calm and subdued (during our low season visit), with plenty of poolside lounge chair/cabana choices and two dining-room options. Value: Excellent for a 5-star resort. Spa treatments are pricey but comparable to other international menus. Some of the best massages and facials we've ever had -consistently outstanding across several family members. Service: 10/10! Every staff member — from spa to concierge — went above and beyond. Amenities: Impeccably maintained pools (six in total), restrooms, and all public areas. Daily beach grooming. No mustiness despite the heavy rains and timber interiors. The resort always felt warm and serene.
