Reviews for Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort

A restful break but a few things would have made a “good” review “excellent “

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed for two weeks and had a very relaxing time, which was what we planned. A few things would have made a good recommendation better. Lack of storage space. I had to hang clothes in the bathroom on hooks as my dresses were too long for the wardrobe provided. Only bedside table draws in the room. Not enough space for one week and we stayed for two. No headboard on the bed and therefore a bit uncomfortable when sitting up in bed. The WiFi was awful in our room, very frustrating. No alcohol free beer! Staff were lovely and Boss needs a mention as he made a big effort to learn our names. The SPA staff were lovely and I had a gorgeous facial and we both enjoyed a massage. Some very good local restaurants within walking distance which was great.

a perfect place for couples

We had an amazing stay at this adults-only resort in Koh Samui. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, private, and very well organized. The atmosphere is perfect if you’re looking to relax and enjoy a quieter side of the island. Our private pool villa was definitely the highlight — spacious, beautifully designed, and very clean. Waking up and having our own pool made the experience feel really special. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive, which we really appreciated. We also tried the spa and had a cooking session, and both were great experiences. The spa was very relaxing, and the cooking class was fun and well arranged. It added something different to the stay beyond just enjoying the villa. The location is also convenient — it’s easy to explore the island, and we enjoyed going out in the evenings to check the night markets and nearby nightlife, then coming back to a calm and quiet environment. Overall, it’s a perfect place for couples or anyone looking for a more refined and relaxing experience in Koh Samui. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it.

Lovely Resort and has the Potential to be Amazing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Lovely peaceful resort that faces onto a beach with a welcome breeze. Quiet and chilled; recharge those batteries! Good fire show… SERVICE Exceptional. Staff are excellent - friendly and helpful and provide immediate service and assistance when required. You don’t need to visit reception as they have this amazing app which contains all hotel information, reserving a shared taxi, broadcast messages as to what’s going on… and more! BEACH It’s not a ‘white sand’ beach so you will need beach shoes & the sea can be quite rough, rocky and shelves dramatically in places. On the plus side .. it makes for great, uncrowded views and conducive to pure relaxation. Also there’s a lovely decking area with tables & chairs that juts out over the beach - great to have a drink and/or some food. A lot of the loungers face the sea so makes for a beautiful, chill spot. POOL Couple of pools at different levels and a swim-up bar. All very nice. ROOM - Standard Pool Room Good size hexagon room is lovely and nicely decorated, great bed and nice sheets. But… nowhere to put your clothes except for one tiny hanging wardrobe!!! (Where there is also a safe). Room is missing drawers or another wardrobe with shelves. Good, effective AC but a constant fan noise even on low. Bit like sleeping on an aircraft! Water provided daily which is a great touch and full length beach towels - marvellous! PRIVATE DECKING & SMALL POOL Private and not overlooked. We had a standard room - 117 - with small dipping pool. We always like a terrace/balcony but to be honest though, we didn’t use the decking that much owing to the closed heat, no breeze and mozzies. If we sat by the beach/general pool the mozzies were blown away! In my view, it’s only worth booking a Deluxe or Beachfront Villa… FOOD & DRINK Expensive. Prosecco glass 420THB, White/Red glass 330THB To be fair - the prices aren’t bad as a reasonable bottle of wine in 7/11 cost around 15GBP. SATURDAY GRILL NIGHT Excellent BBQ & Buffet food including tasty Giant Tiger Prawns, delicious Sea-bass, steak in the BBQ and an amazing Beef Stew all for £25.00 plus drinks. No actual restaurant per se - but chairs and tables on a decking & patio, and a few tables inside. We ate at the hotel several times and enjoyed the food. We visited the hotel next door (via the beach, to the left) a couple of times for both lunch and dinner which has an atmospheric restaurant and reasonable food. SHARED MINIBUS to Fisherman’s Village Hotel offers a shared taxi Monday & Thursdays for 200Thb pp. Leaves at 5pm, returning at 8pm. Worth doing but loads of traffic so takes 30mins each way. Just do the one way there as 8pm back is too early; you need time to wander around the market, eat, watch a fire show and sone more wandering - and by then the market is very busy. SUGGESTIONS Need more storage furniture in the standard rooms - there’s no shelves or drawers to unpack. We had to live out of our suitcases for 7-nights which is simply not acceptable. On the front, cut down the hedge far right of the beds to open up the sea view. And to be honest - if I’d booked a Beach Villa with Sea View - I’d expect a sea view - not a peak of one through a hedge. Suggest you chop down the Villa hedges too… A couple more staff on at breakfast time would ensure timely coffee and clearing of tables. Make the swing higher on the public decking so you don’t scrape your knees!

Truly Thai Spirits between jungle and sea 🌊

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Truly Thai spirits between jungle and sea 🌊 This hotel truly creates a wonderful atmosphere, and I absolutely love it. Even though I’m a local from Samui and live here, they welcomed me like a valued guest of the hotel. I had Thai food at the SAii Beach Club, and it was incredible — the flavors were authentically Thai, even though it’s a high-end hotel. The price and quality are more than worth it. I promise I will come back here every month.

A fabulous and well located hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

It is the staff at this hotel that makes it so perfect. Perfectly located with a quiet beach holiday but so easy and affordable to get around the island on local transport or by taxi. Food and drinks great.
