Good massage

Link and Reena were truly excellent therapists and gave an outstanding massage. The wine and tea prepared by Aey were also wonderful. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. I definitely want to come back again.

Stunning Property but Lacks Cohesion and Value

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

The Ritz-Carlton Samui is a beautiful, spotless resort with a breathtaking setting. The rooms are large, modern, and very well appointed – exactly what you’d expect from a luxury five-star property. I’d strongly recommend booking an ocean view room over a resort-facing one to avoid disappointment, as we ended up changing rooms during our stay for a better experience. While the grounds are immaculate, I found the estate too spread out and a bit disjointed, with key areas like the bar area, reception, and restaurants feeling quite separated. For me, this lack of flow made getting around less relaxing compared to other properties on the island. The staff were all fabulous – warm, attentive, and professional – but there were some unexpected issues that didn’t feel five-star. For example, we found hair dye residue left in the shower, and the air conditioning in our lounge area wasn’t working. As we were staying here for a pre-marriage honeymoon a month before our wedding, the team at check-in made a lovely effort to acknowledge this, telling us they wanted to do something special for the occasion. However, nothing actually happened, which left us a little disappointed. A major gripe was the pricing of meals. While I don’t mind paying UK-level hotel prices for quality, the costs here felt excessively high, several times more expensive than elsewhere on Koh Samui – including other five-star hotels. With Thailand offering incredible food at very reasonable prices, it came across as poor value and almost exploitative, which was frustrating. Overall, the Ritz-Carlton Samui has stunning facilities and outstanding staff, but the overly spread-out layout, lack of follow-through on small details, and excessive dining prices left me feeling it didn’t quite deliver the full five-star experience.

I came here for my honeymoon, but I can see why it's Ritz-Carlton!! Please massage me too well. I was particularly impressed by the services of nockweed, rina, and saan.

Beautiful resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We stayed for 1 week at this resort. The room was so spacious with a free standing bath, it was impressive. Staff welcomed you and upon arrival were given a short tour of the resort. The ‘happy hour’ on the deck was a nice surprise. Snacks, cocktails, beers, wines and non alcoholic options were available. This is something we were not aware of prior to booking so was a nice addition to make use of. The spa facility was a lovely experience. Rose made our time their magical. The breakfast was great with a variety of options. Eggs were made to order. The tennis court and gym were great. The Muay Thai class was a great touch. The resort is hilly but very walkable if able, if not buggies are available and arrive promptly. The resort is fairly secluded. We enjoyed getting out each night to Fisherman’s village etc by taxi. Worth noting that any decent restaurant outside the hotel would need to be accessed by taxi. We were ready to move on after our week stay because of this. The ranch restaurant was very good, although expensive it… the experience and food was top notch. Most tender steak I have ever had. Overall, had a great time, especially for what we paid for this resort, would just consider staying for slightly less time due to the location. I would have had different expectations had I have paid more, some signs of wear in the hotel common areas.
