Unfortunately, our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui is a big disappointment and far from what one would expect from a Ritz-Carlton property. First of all, the service is absolutely not 5-star level. Staff are often inattentive, make frequent mistakes with orders, and lack the level of professionalism and anticipation you normally associate with this brand. At restaurants, orders were incorrect more than once, drinks were forgotten, and basic attentiveness was missing. The pool and beach area are particularly disappointing. The furniture looks extremely old and worn — rattan loungers that feel like they are 30 years old. The entire area feels neglected rather than luxurious. It is also visibly untidy, with hoses and equipment lying around, which completely ruins the atmosphere. This is not what one expects when paying Ritz-Carlton prices. Food is very expensive for Thailand, yet the quality does not justify the pricing at all. Considering the cost, the food was mediocre at best and certainly not memorable. Breakfast was another major letdown. The breakfast restaurant feels more like a canteen than a luxury hotel dining room. It is loud, uncomfortably hot, and poorly organized. Orders are forgotten, and waiting 15 minutes for a simple espresso is not unusual. There is no sense of warmth, attention to detail, or thoughtful design — it feels functional and chaotic rather than refined or welcoming. Another major downside is the lack of a proper adults-only pool. The only option is the spa pool, but it comes without any real service. You might get a glass of water if you explicitly ask, but otherwise there is no poolside service at all — again, very far from a luxury experience. The only positive aspect of this hotel is the room itself. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and well designed. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. Overall, this hotel does not feel like a Ritz-Carlton in any way — neither in service, atmosphere, nor attention to detail. It is truly a shame to spend precious vacation time here. We would not recommend this hotel and would not return.

My stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui was truly wonderful and memorable. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with a stunning sea view that made every moment feel relaxing and luxurious. The breakfast was impressive, offering a wide variety of options. Everything was fresh and delicious! I would also like to give special praise to Jinn from the front office who provided excellent service throughout my stay. Jinn was very attentive, friendly, and professional, making me and my friends feel truly welcomed and well taken care of. Overall, The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui is a perfect destination for anyone who looking for comfort, beautiful views, and impressive service. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere and excellent service. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the stay feel truly special. The resort is beautifully maintained with a relaxing, luxurious vibe. I had a lovely time and would definitely love to return.

We stayed with Ritz, Koh Samui at the tail end of September and had the best time due to the amazing and thoughtful service from staff. We wanted to convey our deepest gratitude to Chef May, who is not only an extremely talented chef but is also very kind and went out of her way to prepare special halal meals for my family. She accommodated my brothers’ various food requests (his favourite was her fried rice) and also sent food up to our room (with a wonderful card and fruit) when he injured his ankle on the trip. Duty Manager Nazrin and Ruben were also extremely helpful and friendly. Housekeeping service could use some improvement, e.g. rooms and toilets were not thoroughly cleaned to the standard we usually expect from Ritz, and one night of turn down service was missed - overall though, it was a wonderful stay and we would certainly return.
