I have been staying at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur for the past 15 years, and over that time it has truly become a second home to me. I travel extensively around the world and have stayed in many other Shangri-La properties as well, but this original one in Kuala Lumpur stands apart at every level. What makes it so exceptional is not just the luxury, but the warmth, attentiveness, politeness, and personalisation of the people. There is a sincerity here that is very rare to find. Every detail in the lounge reflects care and pride, from the beautiful decoration to the smallest touches, even the way the tissues and spoons are placed. Nothing feels random. Everything feels thoughtful. I would especially like to thank Ina, Hana, Notyatu, Baktiar, Moho, Syah, and Chef Nazyar. They do far more than simply look after guests, they make you feel like family. Their constant smiles, kindness, and grace, even while managing the demands of an always-busy lounge, are truly remarkable. What makes this even more special for me is that my children do not like staying just anywhere. Yet here, they are completely at home. They run a riot in the lounge in the way happy, comfortable children do, and never once have they been nitpicked or made to feel unwelcome. Instead, they have always been treated with patience, warmth, and affection. That means more to a parent than I can express. In fact, they now do not want to stay at any other hotel, and I have a funny problem on my hands our family vacations are increasingly being decided by which city has a Shangri-La. Ha ha. Shangri-La is already on another level as a brand, but the lounge at this Shangri-La is something even more special. It spoils you with such warmth and care that it feels like being looked after by your grandmother. That kind of feeling cannot be manufactured by luxury alone. It comes only from people with genuine heart. Please convey my deepest gratitude to the entire team. They are the reason this place remains so unforgettable to me, year after year.

Always a pleasure staying at the Shang in KL. The rooms, the dinning, the pool ..etc all helps you relaxed after a long business day. It helps that it’s 10mins walk to kLCC and pavilion. I particularly enjoyed the horizon lounge and the high level of service there.. and in particular INA whom I really enjoyed talking (and she taking the time) to. Be back again soon

Welcome once again to my review in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This will be my second review on the luxury Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. Let’s start off again with the front desk and welcome crew. Ms Adilah, was at the hotel lobby to welcome me with a warm smile and courteously by my name “Welcome again to Shangri-La, Mr Ganesh”. It was the first time I am meeting Ms Adilah but she remembered me by my name. It was truly heartwarming to know that staffs truly care and remember their guests. The concierge, Mr Man was very helpful and assigned the luggage ambassadors, Mr Lawrence and his colleague to have my luggage sent to the room. Check-in was so fast and again they gave me an upgrade to larger room with king size bed on a higher floor with city view. My first visit was wonderful, this visit was awesome. I stopped by at the lobby lounge to have a brunch before I went to the room and ordered a local favourite “Char Kway Teow”. Ms Siti, the staff at lobby lounge welcomed me by my name. She was very attentive and enquired whether would I like my Char Kway Teow spicy or non spicy, whether I like seafood or any choice of meat to go along. The food was delicious (10/10) and went great with a nice hot glass of Teh Tarik (Tea with evaporated and condensed milk). The room can be summed up in three words - spacious, comfortable and clean. The satellite TV was available as well. As the saying goes good memories, last forever. While waiting for my family members to arrive at the lobby, Ms Christine (Guest Relationship Manager - who welcomed me during my first visit) was there to welcome me again. I requested both Ms Adilah and Ms Christine for a picture to be a part of this memory. Next day morning - time for breakfast at Lemon Garden. This restaurant brought me lot of fond memories and very helpful kind staff. I tried my luck to see if they remembered me. I was greeted and seated by Ms Syikin at the Lemon Garden. She remembered me from my first stay. They served Continental, Malaysian, Indian, Chinese cuisine, Japanese and the dishes were lots of variety this time around. Ms Yee Yin, came to my table and greeted me. She helped me get a cup of teh Tarik and later another cup of Nescafe Tarik. The restaurant Service Manager, Mr Ghazali (another good friend) was pleasantly surprised to meet me and recommended me to try the Indian rice pancakes (Idly) and Bhature (actually pronounced as Bhatura) a soft fried bread which goes well with vegetables or non-vegetarian cuisine. So the Indian rice pancakes and Bhatura with a nice amount of lamb gravy and a second serving with prawn curry - was simply amazing. Now, a couple seated next to my table enquired about the dish (Bhatura and Idly) and soon we started a pleasant conversation about the food at Shangri-La and especially at Lemon Garden. They were Mr Sebastian and Ms Patricia from Singapore. As we were about to get Teh Tarik for ourselves, Mr Reno noticed and helped us get a cup of teh tarik. When Mr Sebastian told Mr Reno it was a bit too sweet, Mr Reno immediately sprang to have it changed. Mr Sebastian and Ms Patricia loved the food, service and comfort at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. I requested Mr Sebastian and Ms Patricia to take a group selfie with Mr Reno which they kindly obliged. Sharing is truly caring. Mr Sebastian, Ms Patricia and myself from Singapore will definitely recommend Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur to all visitors for its service, hospitality and delicious food. Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is about luxury care. They are record makers and record breakers. I want to extend my heartfelt thank you to everyone at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur again. Have a blessed month of Ramadan and advance Hari Raya Aidilfitri to everyone in Malaysia and Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. See you all soon.

I have been coming back to this hotel for 10 years. All the staffs treat me like a family member. Horizon club service is always at top notch. Of course cannot forget about Desmond, Noryati and Christine... They always know what is my favourite room in Shangri-La KL! They are the stars 🌟 whenever im walking around at lobby, they always approach me and have a talk with me that makes me feel the warmth of these people. It is a home away from home in Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.
