Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

We stayed in the Shangri-La for three nights before flying to Langkawi. About an hour from the airport, it is in prime location to go to the local amenities. The hotel was welcoming from the moment of arrival with the door staff being friendly and engaging. On checking in we were told our room was not ready, and encouraged to get a drink. We didn’t have to wait long until we were informed we would be upgraded and our room was ready. A wide variety of restaurants to eat at which were all excellent quality and a good price. The whole of the hotel was clean and kept up to an excellent standard. The buffet restaurant for breakfast in the morning had a wide variety of food to accommodate a variety of needs. All the staff were friendly and looked after whatever we needed. Only a short walk away from the shopping centre and Petronas Towers. A jump on and off bus is available to have a tour of Kuala Lumpur is a short walk down the road. Thanks for a lovely stay

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, everyone had a smile for us and could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. Akrum our room person was excellent nothing was a problem from bring us coffee mugs to extra coat hangers always with a smile and friendly word. The staff at the Horizon Club were also exceptional Shakira (not sure of the spelling) Lee and others whose names I did not get were always attentive and helpful. I would recommend The Shanghai - La to anyone wanting to stay in Kuala Lupur!

Great city hotel to base yourself if you want to explore the city of Kuala Lumpur. Very comfortable spacious rooms and a great evening buffet but very busy! Make sure you reserve in advance!

We have just left the Shangri-la KL following a three night stay. Originally we had planned to stay at the Mandarin Oriental having enjoyed our time there a few years ago however our travel agent assured us that this too was a great central place to stay. How right he was. The hotel boasts an impressive lobby area together with the suite we booked giving us access to the Club Lounge. The lounge provided free alcoholic drinks and a good range of canapes between 5 pm and 7 pm each evening. Although we didn't go apparently there was also afternoon tea on offer between 3pm and 5pm every day. We spent this time at the pool which had adequate sun loungers both in sun and shade. It was quite peaceful and relaxing. Best of all perhaps are the welcoming staff, each and every staff member we encountered was friendly but professional and very helpful. Special mentions though must go to Fazrul who was very efficient and sorted and issue regarding our onward travel we were worried about in a matter of minutes, this was much appreciated. Also I must mention Nabilah in the front desk who made us feel special every hotel should employ such a fun character on their front desk! All the hard working staff deserve a mention too but will mention Hana, Ina, Syakit, Aleef, Nazuar and Jack. Thankyou all for making our stay so enjoyable, hopefully we will return soon.
