Hotel has ongoing construction at the next door property till December 31, 2025 and provides ear plugs to deal with the potential noise. Yet, this point was not disclosed on the Amex website. No upgrade was offered as part of the Hotel Collection package, even though the hotel does not appear to be very busy. Overall, it is a mediocre option in terms of rooms, views, service and location.

The best service of any hotel ice stayed at. My wife and I went to Japan for our honey moon, and they truly made us feel like royalty! Great food, great rooms, extraordinary service. Cannot recommend enough!

My partner and I really enjoyed our time at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto. We used a guest of honor pass and upon check in, they offered us a complementary taxi, which we ended up using when we checked out to go to Kyoto Station. Once we walked to the front of the hotel, we were immediately greeted by Dennis, who is the real MVP! He grabbed all of our belongings and made sure we were comfortable checking in. Also as globalist members, you get free welcome drinks each night, which we made the most out of. The rooms were nice and spacious, but definitely have seen their age. Overall, would stay here again! By the way, if Hyatt management is reading this: give a nice raise to Dennis! He definitely deserves it!

Unfortunately, we could only stay for a night, and we regretted not staying longer, as the hotel was excellent and the service was fabulous. We stayed at the Park Hyatt and the Hyatt Regency during the same stay. Both are fantastic and impeccable, and it depends on what you are comfortable paying. Our Kyoto Executive suite had a pond view and a Tatami room. Everything in the suite was well thought out. The deep-soak bathtub was huge. Breakfast was a little underwhelming and very heavy on meat. My wife and I are vegetarians, so we had limited options. Kids were okay. We personally preferred Park Hyatt's breakfast. For dinner, we tried Touzan, where we enjoyed good food. The chef also personalized one of the dishes to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The staff was great at giving us personalized suggestions and were very polite and friendly. Luckily, we stayed only on Tuesday, and they had a complimentary Maiko performance that day. After the performance, Maiko visited our restaurant, where we were able to take a picture with her. The hotel's location was close to the main shopping area and the Kyoto station. I will highly recommend this hotel.

The room is spacious, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They assisted with unloading a heavy package and called a taxi for us.
