One of the best IHG hotels in the world with amazing value. The property is a true chateau hidden in a cozy spot: atop of the Mont royal surrounded by forest and 40 minutes away from Paris. The deco is elegant and airy, and everything was perfectly maintained. The team is extremely nice, attentive and kind. Mama and Mina are two truly outstanding team members who, dear hotel management, should get a raise. Breakfast is awesome. French pastries down right. I also tried the market menu and the food was, actually, better than some Michelin restaurants I tried in Paris. By the way, you can see stars in the room. Wild.

A "5*" hotel with a 3* service. Terribly disappointed by our stay at Intecontinental Chantilly. Is it really an Intercontinental ?! Or is the brand in a decline? The staff was kind but with lack of competencies. Sitting on the terrace in the hope of having a good lunch, we were not sure if it was serving food or beverages as there were only tables and chairs, not dressed, and without staff to host and welcome you. You are there, thinking it is only for sitting. After 10 minutes, someone noticed us, but only after 5 min, the waiter came to us. Food and beverages came quickly after we ordered but the quality of our meal was poor. What a disappointment. We didn't want to eat in the hotel anymore. Since it is located in the middle of nowhere, it was really complicate to find other restaurants in the area. The SPA is not interesting, not looking nice, and lack of identity, as the rest of the hotel. It is summer time, and you hope to be able to enjoy the pool outside but it is obviously indoor. Humidity level is at 200%, the air does not circulate, it is was a really bad experience. Our room looked nice, but the experience was totally different. We could hear everything outside our room. There was a room service on our floor and the staff made a lot of noise with the plates and cutleries. The pillows are not comfortable. (I had neck pain after that). I was hoping to find good rest in this hotel but I left even more tired and angry. I do not recommend this hotel to people who are used to 5* services, I recommend it to people who are used to 3* hotels as it is cheap and a bit nicer than what you could find within this segment. I am not even sure I want to go back to an Intercontinental hotel ever.

We stayed here expecting a 5* star experience, it was not!! The pool was out of order all the time we were here, the reception staff were very nonchalant about when it would be fixed, hardly apologetic about the inconvenience caused when this was a reason to stay here!!! The outside terrace was very disappointing, the furniture was positively scruffy, we did not want to eat our food out there. The building looked impressive from the front but when you went to the terrace it was a shock how old and run down it looked. There were no sunbeds to sit out comfortably in the hot weather. Would have expected an outdoor pool in such a hotel but nothing to entice you to stay around the hotel during the day. Seems like the hotel was only catering for conferences and not for people wanting to visit the area. The only positives were the staff in the restaurant/bar and the staff at breakfast. The room was very clean.

For sure this is an impressive chateaux and the arrival is swift yet perfunctory although no tour or explanation of facilities were given. Hire car keys constantly taken off you even if the parking lot is empty, came to be an annoyance most mornings waiting around for the keys. Outside of one doorman the service is impersonal or non existent due to a lack of staff. Spent 20 minutes on the outdoor terrace ignored by two waiters busy with a table of two and table of four. The rooms are relatively spacious if you don’t choose a regular room but overpriced particularly when there is racing on at Chantilly especially for a balcony room, rising to double the price. I paid nearly £2.5k for four nights. Being part of the IHG means it certainly doesn’t have much French charm yet it’s also lacking 5* style American maintenance and service outside of the housekeeping. And the exterior parts that have been upgraded are not aligned with the style of the chateau. The elevators are tired with dull painted cream. The balcony and shared outdoor furniture needs replacing. Brick work in various places needs cleaning and is crumbling. Bottom line by all means it’s still a beautiful property out front, but the American chain style yet lack of American attentive service and wear and tear on closer inspection lets this place down.
