Reviews for Nayara Gardens

Exceeded expectations

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

Exceeded all our expectations. This is a luxury hotel and spa that has paid attention to every little detail. The rooms are large and private and the tropical gardens are spectacular. However it is the staff and their caring and attentive attitude that really makes the difference. Also the hot springs are on the property and a real treat

Even better than 1st visit

I originally stayed here in 2010 and came back for my second visit. I was shocked at the changes and the growth and couldn’t have imaged it could have gotten better, but it truly had. The rooms were just as nice as the first stay inside and showed no signs of age. Take advantage of the outdoor shower and the feeling of having your own beautiful piece of paradise cut out just for you. The patio now has pools on them with jets and the temperature can be adjusted to your liking. They offer a complimentary mini bar with an assortment of drinks and snacks. The bedding was excellent and the mattress comfortable. The resort offers free yoga and nature walks. They have golf carts to get you around. There are several hot springs on site with different temps throughout the resort. It truly is paradise. Breakfast is included and offered all you could ask for. Service there wasn’t off the charts as far as wait staff but the chef at the grill was on top of his game. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Costa Rica! Staff besides breakfast wait staff went above and beyond!

Yes, this place is amazing!

From the staff to the fine details, this resort was nothing short of amazing! The room was amazing, loved having daily maid service and nightly turndown service. Our housekeeper was amazing- and we loved seeing the same faces assigned to us so that we could get to know and trust everyone. We stayed 8 nights at Nayara Gardens and it was the perfect amount of time to enjoy everything La Fortuna has to offer. Used free laundry service once, loved that! The breakfast was included in our stay, would recommend trying the other restaurant’s breakfast, they are also included! We had dinner at all of the restaurants- each was great, although we loved Amor Loco and Asia Luna the best! Dinners will run you around $100/night for 2, (assuming you don’t buy a bottle of wine.) The wine bar can get pricy if you’re not paying attention to how many times you’re swiping that card. The hot springs were great, the bar has a happy hour (2 for 1) from 4-5pm each day at the Thermas bar, and the Ayla pool is the coldest of them all on a hot day! It rained most days for about an hour mid-day, consistent with the descriptions you read online of September green season. It only rained longer one day of our trip. Most mornings were cloudy, but we lounged on our patio- patio pool was covered in the Gardens, or read in the hammock during the rain. Lastly, I never sleep well in a hotel. Not even the nicest ones. I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic they put in this hotel bed, crispy cotton sheets, feather down comforter, feather down pillows, etc, but I slept like a rock, (night rain helped) and we were up at 6am everyday, but the room shades do make the room almost lightless for sleep also!

Yes, you definitely want to visit!

Nayara Gardens continues to exceed expectations. This is our 5th time visiting, and each time just gets better & better. The staff always goes above & beyond to make us feel as though we're the most important guests, and we feel blessed beyond compare. It is most definitely a place we're glad to have discovered, and will continue to visit again for a long while.

An unforgettable stay, experiential, and thoughtful slice of luxury amongst nature

If you're planning to come around Arenal, this place is a MUST STAY. Well worth the marginal cost because this place is so thoughtfully designed and the staff is deeply joyful and attentive to any and every thing you bring up. The resort manager Luis is so hospitable and always looking for feedback from guests, so go out of your way to say hello. Mariela the morning walk guide is deeply knowledgeable and happy to share in her love of the wildlife on property.
