Gorgeous stay for friends' wedding trip
I LOVE this hotel! After staying there for work several times over the years, I always wanted to stay on a personal trip. When invited to a wedding in La Jolla, I booked to stay with my husband and a dear friend. We shared a room in the Tudor building with a King bedroom, living room with a fold out bed, generous bathroom and kitchenette. We even had a small balcony where we enjoyed coffee and pastries one morning. I will stay there again and again.

Wonderful seekend at a lovely classic hotel by the sea
Excellent service. Wonderful location. We were inadvertently there during the LaJolla Art & Wine Festival, and staying at the hotel gave us hassle free access.

Good value hotel in LaJolla with great locaiton
The hotel location was great and staff was terrific. Elevator is slow and needs updating. A good value. Not sure why, but there was loud music late at night.

Charming Historical Hotel with great Customer Service.
Grande Colonial is a beautiful historical hotel with several different room types to fit your needs/desires. The grounds are lovely to walk when coming to and from the lobby entrance to your room. We visit La Jolla annually and have stayed at several surrounding hotels and have found street noise and general noise control an issue. Noise has not been an issue at GC. And while there may be better ocean views at some hotels closer to the water, GC makes up for this with its historic charm and excellent customer service. Nine Ten restaurant in the hotel is a great convenience with lovely staff as well.
