Great quality and value in the heart of La Jolla
Grande Colonial is a gem in La Jolla. It is as described, a European style hotel with great quality, good value and outstanding service. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and design features are well thought throughout. Though an historic hotel, maintenance is up to date. For a relaxing stay where you can unwind and enjoy your downtime I would recommend Grand Colonial to anyone. It has the quality of a 5-star hotel at 4-start prices.

Worth it
Yes, the Grande Colonial is expensive. But for a classic, high-quality hotel with a non-corporate feel and superb service, well worth it. The location, in the heart of downtown La Jolla just above the La Jolla Cove, is ideal.

The Grand Experience by the sea.
We continue to stay at The Grand Colonial on our trips to La Jolla. My wife and I love your hotel. The first night was not satisfactory as we had a room way too small. The next day I complained to the day Mgt. and she immediarley moved us to a suite. That was much appreciated and it made our stay so enjoyable. Jack Bent
