A truly special place in La Paz

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Baja Club was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in a very long time, start to finish. It’s a special place, and you’re lucky if you get to stay here in La Paz. First: the room. It was amazing. The scent alone was incredible! The attention to detail is next-level, and everything felt thoughtfully curated: an incredible shower, a cozy bed, great robes, and genuinely good lighting (which is rare and so appreciated). Next: the property itself is downright gorgeous. The blend of the old hacienda with the newer building in the back is stunning, like something straight out of Architectural Digest. We had so many standout moments here: drinks on the rooftop, decompressing at the quiet pool after beach days, and our absolute favorite, sitting by the chimeneas at night with a fire going and cocktails in hand. Pure magic. We also loved breakfast in the courtyard as it was such a beautiful way to start the day. The staff truly made the experience. We don’t remember our breakfast server’s name (he’s studying to be a detective!), but he was wonderful, always starting our mornings with a smile and great suggestions. Alejandro was also incredibly sweet and full of energy, and Jose was super helpful. The whole team rocked. And finally: Fernando at the front desk. He is truly a rockstar. His service and care made our trip feel seamless, welcoming, and extra special. Baja Club is the kind of hotel you keep thinking about after you leave. Can’t recommend it enough and I can’t wait to go back.

Horrible service- avoid

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

When I prepared my trip, I read mixed things about this hotel. On one side, there are some positive lines, especially about the design (mainly marketing sites). On the other side I read many negative reviews and they made me a bit worry (a hotel having an average rating below 4 on TripAdvisor is a bad sign…). I still booked but now I deeply regret. The hotel is located in the heart of La Paz and you can walk to many restaurants and you have nice views of the ocean. The design of the hotel is nice. But here the positive side ends. Some of the negative elements: 1. Worst service ever experienced. Especially the front desk staff are completely ignorant and rude. They completely ignore your requests, whenever you ask something the answer is no. And I talk about basic things. And there is consistency with it, as during our whole stay the service was a disaster. 2. No manager available: I asked for a manager as the service was extremely bad. However there was no manager available during my whole stay. I asked them that the manager calls me, also here no response. So completely ignored my request. Customer orientation is below zero. 3. Client orientation zero: on social media they are strong to say „we appreciate your feedback and try to improve…“. In reality they do not care at all - a customer asking for management to call him and no reaction in three days is unacceptable 4. Rooms are rundown and dirty, the housekeeping is doing a bad job, every day we found a lot of dirt in our room. 5. Rooms have absolutely no space for cloth, so do not bring anything with you 6. The shower has almost no water and it takes long to get warm. Unbelievable S Mexico has normally good water pressure, and this hotel is relatively new… 7. Food is very average, the breakfast was very limited and the quality of the products subpar. 8. Concierge not existent. Before arrival they contacted me and asked if I need anything. When I asked them to organize a tour they said they cannot help me… very strange… 9. Etcetc….. (I would need much more time to list all weaknesses) As some previous reviewers wrote: nice design, no substance. Definitely not up to the standards of a 5-star hotel. It’s more like a nice basic motel. PS: if you think I am too negative, please read all the reviews and you find many reviews with similar feedback.

The location of the hotel and the facilities are beautiful. Excellent food. My main complaint was the poor lighting in the rooms. I do not recommend staying in a garden room, because you get very little sunlight. The rooms were a bit worn, but okay.

Bold yet beautiful design. Impecable bedroom. Breakfast included was fantastic! My avocado toast was spectacular! The common areas were gorgeous, elegant yet simple and thoughtful. Workers seem happy to be there and were very attentive. The location perfecto. I'll be back!

We had the most incredible wedding at Baja Club last weekend, and our experience exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our friends and family had a memorable stay. The rooms were not only stunning but also incredibly comfortable, offering a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The food was also exceptional, from the chilaquiles to the mezze plate. La Paz itself is a beautiful destination, and the hotel’s prime location right on the Malecon made it even more special. We were within walking distance of great bars, delicious restaurants, charming ice cream shops, and a variety of exciting excursions. Baja Club truly made our wedding celebration unforgettable, and we are so grateful for the hospitality and warmth of the entire team. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion!
