We’ve had a great experience at Dreams La Romana. The staff here is wonderful. The grounds are clean. The food is very good for an all inclusive. Benny at the buffet and Fray at Coastal Grill have stood out. Their kindness and service makes a world of a difference. We booked preferred and love the additional amenities.

Let me preface this review by saying I'm a New Yorker and my expectations of service might be skewed by this fact. The service here is underwhelming. Let's start with arrival. We arrived at the resort at about 2:15pm and were instructed check in time is at 3pm so we were allowed to have lunch and return to check in after 3pm. We ate and returned at about 3:15pm and were told room isn't ready needs to be inspected by supervisor. We waited another hour and finally got to go to the room at about 4:30pm where we found the lady still cleaning the room. We're hot, tired from a long flight, and it was just a nuisance that there was no sense of urgency especially given the fact that they're late at having the room ready an hour and a half after check in time. Not a good way to start vacation. We've been to several resorts and I can't remember us not being able to enter the room by check in time, usually we get it before. It was a Tuesday, dont know if that matters. Maybe its just a lower tier resort. At dinner i ordered seltzer water for my daughter. After waiting like 15 minutes, I left the restaurant, walked to the bar in the lobby and got 3 seltzer waters, walked back to the restaurant and they still hadn't arrived. My wife and I would joke while we were at the restaurants waiting that she should head to the buffet restaurant to grab food to hold us down while we waited for service at the other restaurants. Maybe its just me but whenever I would try to ask someone for something I felt like I was annoying them and interrupting the conversation they were having with their coworker. I had seen a cool Farm to Table experience for kids advertised prior to arriving. I asked about it at the front desk, they had no clue. The answer/solution...here's the barcode to scan for events and restaurants. We really liked the bartender at the sportsbar. The room was clean, A/C was good. Beach was good, nice sand, very little seaweed, and some lounge chairs shaded by palm trees. We saw amazing reviews for the place and they recently changed ownership. Maybe it just needs some time and training to implement improvements.

It was a super nice stay at the Resort. The rooms are very nice and spacious (the walls little thin, so the neighbour's little noisy). But the cleaning team and especially Yohana was amazing, super clean and a lot of care to detail. Made it perfect everyday. The team of the Bakery, is just the best. Kenia made the stay just perfect and went out and about with everything, even to bring us medicine for my sick niece. She is the best and truly made the kids feel like at home and Rosa too. Their kindness, smile and dedication to their work and guest is next level. THANK YOU! For the restaurants even if it's no reservations, you get pretty much and very quickly a table. I think from 7:30/8pm - you need to wait a little bit. Only little thing, the beef was always tough, so that would be great to improve. A lot of the buffet food, was unfortunately always served too cold and the chicken not fully roasted. The Peruvian restaurant, really good. And at the buffet - Bienviedo always doing great work and bringing joy to the kids. Anyways, its a great place to stay with the family, with water activities to do for free like kayak and SUP. It's been great.
