We had an absolutely incredible dinner at Ausangate at Dreams La Romana, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our stay. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The shrimp ceviche was unbelievably fresh and perfectly balanced—bright, citrusy, and full of flavor. The Peruvian beef skewers were tender, smoky, and seasoned beautifully, and the arroz chaufa was rich, comforting, and packed with delicious flavor. What really made the evening special, though, was the service. A huge thank you to our server, Francisco! He was helpful, delightful, and so much fun throughout the entire meal. His warmth and attention to detail made the experience even better and truly memorable. If you’re visiting Dreams La Romana, Ausangate is an absolute must. Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere, and exceptional service. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed for a week in building 5- preferred room with a 9 and 14 year old. We have traveled for the past twenty years to all inclusive, mainly in the DR and Mexico. This resort fell in the middle of the road to us. And the lowest Dreams resort we have visited. Good parts and a handful of areas that need improvement. The good: The waterpark was fabulous for the kids. Large, well ran and properly supervised. The ocean was clear and calm. Coffee and lobby bar- excellent! Pool towel game- there are always chairs available. Beach is another story, especially if you need shade. Firework show for Dominican Independence Day was awesome. Housekeeping did a fantastic job. The weaker areas: The food. The restaurants on the Dreams side were nice but the food was awful. Nothing really stood out to us as stellar. Most nights, we chose the buffet which was slightly better. But the choices were very repetitive and not very extensive compared to other resorts. The room. They are small. It was tight for 4 people with not enough storage options. The bathroom was tight compared to other Dreams & Secret resorts. There is very limited ice cream options - beach bar only two flavors between 12-4, and 2/3 at the buffet. Beach- while the ocean is calm, clear and warm, the beach is SMALL. They have jammed as many as possible beach chairs into it with very limited shade umbrellas. There is zero elbow room to breathe on this beach. Preferred beach Chair area is better but not directly on the man beach. It’s on the rocky side. You can pay for a cabana but it does not come with the normal Dreams amenities that we have seen at other resorts. It’s bare minimum. Def not worth the price compared to what other resorts are doing. Basketball hoop broke during our trip and my kids were bummed when it wasn’t replaced or fixed. Overall- this is the lowest Dreams resort we have stayed at in terms of amenities and level of service.

Excellent time at Dreams La Romana. The beach was perfect. No seaweed. The cabanas were worth the extra fee. The ground were beautiful and I love how you can access Secrets. Towels were plentiful. The food at Secrets was awesome. The buffet, Chinola and Noor were great. Hibachi at Sakura was great. We stayed in room 4244- fantastic. It was large spacious and equipped with all we needed- safe, iron, fridge. It was like a small apt with a living space and separate bedroom. The beds were comfy. We slept well each night. The entertainment staff were hard working and energetic. Biggest shoutout is to our butler Victor. He was amazing. Attention to detail, communicative and made our stay flawless. Victor is awesome. He tooks care of our every need and would provide us with daily refreshments and fruit at our cabana each day. Thank you Victor for taking such good care of us. All the staff was friendly and treated us like family. I was afraid to come here because of mixed reviews. I’m glad I came. I loved it. We plan on returning later this year.
