Hilton La Romana, an All-Inclusive Family Resort

Lovely ladies at dreams preferred pool . VIVIANA RAMIREZ and ROSANNI MEJIA. They looked after us. Brought drinks as a suprise as we were in the pool. Really friendly. Viviana at dreams preferred beach asked us if everything was good and it was. Made us laugh when it was raining and we left the pool. It's good to give recognition on people doing a great job. All staff are friendly

Just returned from a 2 week stay from the UK. I want to start by saying we are well travelled, and this hotel has by far the friendliest staff we have ever encountered from bar staff , waiters to gardeners and the towel hut. Every single person greeted you with a smile and a hello and were so happy and helpful. The hotel, grounds and beach are beautiful. Everything was so clean, the staff are constantly working cleaning , planting flowers, leaf blowing, collecting rubbish. Everything was impeccable. Our room when we first arrived did smell quite humid and damp, but it’s to be expected at this time of year. It really bothered me the first day however by the second day it was a lot better. I’m not sure if perhaps the people before us had the door open a lot but it did reduce somewhat once we upped the ac temperature too and was no longer an issue. The cleaning staff for our room did a fantastic job, and I especially love the turn down service at the end of the day ready for you returning from the evening, they even leave you chocolates. Snacks (Pringles and M&Ms) were replenished daily as were the minibar. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious with lots of storage and great AC. The beach here is just out of this world, exactly what you expect the Dominican to be. Having stayed in Punta Cana before where there is lots of seaweed, this was welcomed. Beautiful soft sand, no rocks, no seafood and gorgeous turquoise blue waters. We loved walking on the peer looking at the fish. We saw sting rays and other colourful fish and needlefish during our stay. The food for an all inclusive was fantastic, There is no limits to the use of La cartes like previous hotels, which meant we never used the Buffett in 14 nights for our evening meals as we prefer to sit down and be served. The coastal grill , Italian and Perusian were excellent with a few choices. We went to el Camino once and did not enjoy the food at all just our opinion. We also didn’t really enjoy the starters at any of the restaurants as not our personal preferences however the main meals were plentiful and they really weren’t needed anyway. The rack of lamb and steaks were great for an all inclusive as well as was the braised lamb and lasagne at the Italian. Special shout out to Freddy at the coastal grill for such happy and excellent service. The staff at the Italian were also some of our favourite serving staff, however sadly I didn’t fetch their names. We used the buffet for lunch frequently and there was plenty of choice, they serve you which i really preferred and it wasn’t slow service; , although the setting is not the best and i don't feel it’s in keeping with the rest of the resort and could do with a refurbishment to brighten it up, the AC was a welcome break during the day for lunch. We also ate from the beach spot, pizza spot and the water park on other days and these were good too. Only one small issue is that the food often was not ready to be served from 12pm despite being as open. We don’t eat breakfast so this was only a small inconvenience when you are hungry. We didn’t have preferred and for us , it was not missed. The water park was great for my 8 year old and as a family we loved the lazy river. It was not overcrowded at all and was one of the most peaceful places to be. Aside from the constant whistle blowing. I did feel there should be rings for the slide near there as it was far and slippy to walk. They don’t serve alcohol here, maybe why it was quiet? They do a lovely soft serve ice cream here and at the bar at the main pool, and the Banana milkshakes were great. There is fresh towels when you sign in so you need to carry them around with you and I loved that there’s no towel card here and you can get them whenever you want new throughout the day as you move round. Once thing we noticed is guests leaving without removing them making it seem the bed was taken when they had left, but this is laziness of others sadly. We found service at the bars to be very quick, and enjoyed lots of different cocktails. There’s no need to read from the menu, they would make you anything you asked for throughout the hotel. We especially enjoyed the on the rocks bar after the entertainment and the Latino music which was on most evenings after the show. The entertainment team often came down and got guests up joining in with dancing and it was the highlight of mine and my sons night, not many seemed to know it was happening as it’s not on the app. The 3 male and 1 female member of staff that were often there, and work with through the day also were amazing, always getting my son involved and making an effort to speak to us and are a credit to them team. Special shout out also for Carlos and Wander from the on the rocks bar for their impeccable service every night. Carlos especially for going out of his way to get me the cocktail that I liked in the Italian. They were always so happy and welcoming. The coffee bar was amazing every day. They made milkshakes for my son, iced lattes for me although not on the menu and the pastries were lovely as we don’t eat breakfast to tide us over. The ladies working here are just the nicest people. Shout out to Juana and her team, I loved chatting with them and they made my morning. Always so happy and welcoming. The sports bar was great for a break from the heat. The food really wasn’t very nice sadly and we were sick one night after eating here, but the service was great from the serving staff who were very attentive and Elian made lovely cocktails. My son loved playing pool however there should be a better system as people would play on the same table for hours never letting others have a turn. I do think holiday providers should make better advertising also that you can’t stay after 10pm. This felt very early especially for older well behaved children up to aged 17. It did mean we were in bed early for us most nights. We enjoyed the beach party that took place one evening we were here and the inflatable on a Thursday in the main pool was great. I felt like things happen in the resort that weren’t on the app.. During our stay room service was free and which was really quick and handy included full size boxed pizzas. I walked to bayahibe on my own one morning and it was perfectly safe and a nice walk and lovely little town. Top tip! Shake your dry clothes off before bringing them in the room. A little lizard or two fell out of my clothes outside most days which you could easily bring in the room. We always tip when we go on holiday and this is the first place we have visited where it was not expected or needed and they were really grateful no matter what the amount. Nobody ever asked, as we have had previously. Tip people, they work super hard. Overall a great tip and we would 100% return. Beautiful location, great hotel, amazing staff and lovely food. The only be negative being how quiet it is on an evening however if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, this is the spot. Thankyou!

Preferred club members Viviana on the beach at the preferred club beach is fantastic!! Over all the holiday has been fabulous, definitely worth upgrading to preferred club membership. Good good, most of the staff are very nice. Would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa. What stood out the most for us was the exceptional cleanliness throughout the resort and how peaceful and family-friendly the atmosphere was. It is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a vacation without feeling overwhelmed by noise or crowds. The rooms were excellent, very clean, comfortable, well maintained, and we always felt safe throughout our stay. A special thank you to the housekeeping team, who did an incredible job every day and always left our room spotless. We would also like to recognize some wonderful members of the staff who made our experience even better: Armando, Claudia, Bienvenido, Carlos, Rocio, and Pablo Picasso. They were genuinely attentive, kind, and always concerned about making sure guests were comfortable and enjoying their stay. Their hospitality made a real difference. The beach is absolutely spectacular and was one of our favourite parts of the resort. The water and beach area were beautiful and kept very clean. One thing that could be improved is the organization and cleaning of the beach loungers. It would also be great if there were a better system to prevent guests from reserving loungers for long periods without actually using them, as this can make it difficult for other guests to find a place. Overall, Dreams La Romana is a beautiful, clean, peaceful, and welcoming resort. We especially appreciated the cleanliness, the incredible beach, and the kindness of the staff. We left with very good memories of our stay and would happily recommend it, particularly to couples and families looking for a relaxing vacation.
