We loved our time at Dreams, we used the preferred service. Our concierge Angelo was great, and very helpful, and Yvonne from house keeping was wonderful to us! Food is great and beaches are beautiful! Will be back

We stayed at Dreams for 5 nights in mid-March. My parents (in their 80s), my sister and her husband and myself and my husband (in our 50s), and our daughters and niece (15, 18 and 19). Our stay exceeded our expectations. We booked 4 garden view preferred rooms. Our only snag was at check in when our rooms were not ready until almost 5 PM (we arrived at 1 so I kind of feel it was a wasted day). The rooms are nice, a good size and with everything you would need to be comfortable but certainly not what I would consider luxury. Luckily we did not spend much time in the rooms. Being preferred was totally worth it. The lounge was a fantastic place to meet/chill and there was always food available for a snack or light meal. We liked having access to the preferred pools and beach and the Coastal Grill was great for breakfast/lunch. Overall the food was good, not great, but there were plenty of options. Our favorite meal was the hibachi at sakura (on the Secrets side and reservation only). We were concerned our group of 9 would have trouble getting a table but every night they were able to accommodate us and seat us together. One night the restaurant we went to was full but we were able to go somewhere else. The service is fantastic and we tipped at every meal (which was much appreciated- a little goes a long way). We were always able to get sunbeds at the pool and the beach. We did find we needed to get out there earlier and could not always get 9 together (understandable) but we were usually able to be close. We went to the water park expecting to spend a short amount of time and spent the whole day. There were plenty of sunbeds and it was a great place to set up. The lazy river is not as lazy as we would have liked as there is no way to go around without getting soaked by multiple water features but it was fun. The water slides were a blast and there was almost no wait. We would actually take breaks from them because we got tired of walking up the stairs. The staff was fantastic and made the day even more fun! They even helped us convince my dad to go down the slides (and he loved them). I did bring towel clips which were super helpful as it was a bit breezy and pool floats. We did not use the pool floats as much as I thought but they were fun and it was great to pass them onto some kids as we left. I got 8 for $20 on Amazon and they were much more expensive at the resort. We also brought damp rid but luckily did not need it. At night there is not much to do. If you did not like or were not interested in the show there was not much else going on. We usually went to the sports club Scores every night. Our kids met another college student and his sister and hung with them most nights. It seems as though there were not many teens/young adults so I was glad they met the other group and had each other to hang out with. I wish there were a few more choices for entertainment/things to do in the evening. We booked Mike Fisher to take us from the Punta Cana airport to the hotel and back. He was WAY cheaper than booking thru the hotel. The vans were clean and the ride was smooth. I would highly recommend him. Half of us took an excursion to Catalina island (we booked thru the hotel) and the other half took ATVs around the area. Both excursions were great! We also booked a photographer to do family photos one night. He did a good job but I thought he would position us and make suggestions on poses. He wanted to move very quickly so I had to keep stopping him and suggesting pics we wanted (just the kids, each family, etc). Ultimately we did end up with some beautiful pictures. The staff was so lovely and happy to help in any way they can. We tipped for drinks, housekeeping, etc and it was much appreciated. The resort and the beaches are pristine. They work so hard to keep everything looking beautiful. Overall it was a fantastic vacation and I would highly recommend Dreams. I would absolutely go back!
