Six Senses Laamu

It’s hard to imagine such a place exists just a flight away from the reality of every day life. Landing into Male you are greeted by a friendly member of SS who take you to their beautiful lounge to await the sea plane. Once arriving in laamu you are again welcomed to the island by waving members of the team. We were introduced to Riq, our GEM for the duration of our stay. The resort is beautiful, tranquil and everywhere you look has smiling guests; sampling the free ice creams, snorkelling, reading, looking refreshed leaving the spa. The rooms are lovely. Comfortable, spacious and private. Riq was absolutely amazing throughout our stay. Organising all our bookings, activities for the children, spa appointments - nothing was too much to ask. The children adored him and were so excited when they saw his happy smiling face every morning at breakfast whilst he would inform us what the day had in store. The kids club was great and the ladies working there were all so lovely. The activities they have there are amazing, fun and educational. The children are truly engaged. Laamu also has an incredible marine center called SHELL which was so interesting and really showed the resorts dedication to preservation and growth of the sea, megafauna, reef etc. Inspiring for both adults and children. We didn’t want to leave but I suppose that’s the sign of an amazing holiday. We cannot wait to go back.

The best vacation ever, whatever the category. We spent our honeymoon in late December 2025 in this magical resort where everything worked like clockwork from the welcome through all of the execution. The beautiful island, the wonderful villa - nowhere has relaxing been so easy and free from worries. My favourite thing about the resort is the amazing staff, accommodating, skilled but genuine, communicative but never pushy, always friendly but never fake. Special thank yous go to our superstar Guest Experience Manager Haisam, Hassan and his team of smooth and professional but disarmingly soulful restaurant staff, chef Ismail for his Maledivian cooking, the marvelous team at the spa, the chilled but on-it surf instructor team and the discreetly skillful diving team of marine experts. My new years resolution is to try to be more like these people. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to return some day.

This was our second visit to Six Senses Laamu having visited previously eleven years ago for our Honeymoon. On this trip we had the addition of two children! Our stay over eleven days was truly special. The island is a natural haven where conservation plays a key role and we felt instant calm on arrival. The staff at Laamu are truly wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Our GEM, Riq, was amazing and helped with every aspect of our stay. He assisted with Dinner reservation through to advice on the best snorkelling spots. Our two children created a wonderful bond with him and are already asking when we can return to see him! The kids loved going to the kids club where the activities were both interesting and engaging with nature playing a key part. Our 8yr old spent some time on the junior marine biology course which he found fascinating and now has aspirations of becoming a marine biologist and working at the Shell, based on the island! Our family beach villa was perfect, full of rustic luxury and the layout worked perfectly with the children. The housekeeping side of service was faultless and everything was done perfectly on a daily basis. The quality of the food offering is exceptional with a variety of changing cuisines at evening buffets to more formal offerings at restaurants such as Leaf and Zen. My wife and I are still talking about the quality of service and food offering, you can tell the staff throughly enjoy working at Laamu and are both professional but at the same time incredibly personable. We were so sad to leave. Overall one of best trips ever and we will certainly be back!

We’ve been here four times now, and each visit is better than the last. An incredible experience with a team that truly listens and makes every stay feel special.

Six senses Laamu is stunning and incredibly peaceful. Exceptional resort in a natural environment. The staff deserve special praise: genuinely kind, attentive and committed to guest’s wellbeing. A special thank you to our GEM, Efro who was outstanding , making our stay effortless and memorable. The food was excellent, with great variety. One of the most magical moment we had was the private island picnic experience, surrounded by turquoise waters . Six senses is luxury without ostentation. Already thinking about coming back.
