Here’s a polished 5-star review: La Posta Vecchia – An exceptional luxury retreat La Posta Vecchia delivered one of the most relaxing and luxurious resort stays we have had in a long time. After an unhappy experience at our previous hotel in the area, we were fortunate to discover this property just two days before arrival and were able to secure the Getty Suite. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally accommodating of my respiratory sensitivities and made us feel genuinely welcome and well cared for. We were greeted with a lovely tour of the estate followed by sparkling wine and caviar in our suite. The Getty Suite itself is extraordinarily spacious and elegant — larger than my first New York apartment — with soaring ceilings, beautiful views of the gardens and sea from every room, and thoughtful details throughout. The bed was exceptionally comfortable (one of the best nights of sleep I have had), with a range of pillow options, the softest towels, a generously sized marble bathroom stocked with high-quality proprietary bath products, ample wardrobe space, and a fully stocked bar. Complementary snacks and sweets were a nice touch, and even the small “prayer room” with holy water added to the unique character of the space. The grounds and facilities are equally impressive. We enjoyed the walking paths and complimentary bicycles, the serene indoor pool by the spa, the outdoor pool with bar service, and the peaceful rocky beach with the sound of the waves and a lifeguard on duty. The bar, open until 11 p.m., has excellent, knowledgeable bartenders who were happy to prepare both classic cocktails and non-alcoholic options (including non-alcoholic gin). Designated smoking areas helped keep the outdoor dining spaces more comfortable for those of us with sensitivities. When pets were present, the team was proactive in seating us away from them. The dining was outstanding. I enjoyed the linguine alle vongole so much that I ordered it three nights in a row. Each evening the kitchen prepared a special butter for the excellent bread service — one night a remarkable saffron-pepper butter. Service throughout the restaurants was attentive, gracious, and warm. What truly elevated the stay was the consistent kindness and professionalism of the entire team — from concierge and reception to the culinary staff, servers, bartenders, and even the lifeguards. Everyone contributed to making our anniversary celebration feel special. The small museum in the basement, which shares the fascinating history of the building, the castle, and its past and present owners, was an unexpected and enriching addition. La Posta Vecchia is a rare combination of genuine luxury, thoughtful service, and tranquil beauty. We are already planning our return and cannot thank the staff enough for such a memorable stay.

This is a basic hotel - but great location. There is no parking - as in NO parking. The on-road is full as is the car park. Be prepared to drive round and round. It is extremely difficult to find. There is no lift, the rooms are all up three flights of steps and there is no assistance. The breakfast is minimal. The coffee bad. The bed very hard. But clean.

Unique, beautiful oasis of calm and serenity with unadulterated views of the open sea. A mansion with real history in a secluded and private location. Friendly and gracious staff who made everything so relaxed. Delicious food and wine. Perfect place to visit Rome from or just to chill at or to include on a road tour. Can’t wait to go back!

We have been returning to this hidden gem by the sea for over a decade. Locked away in a beautiful private park and right smack on the sea, it is serene and a beautiful place to vacation and relax. With two pools, a private beach, Michelin dining and a staff that takes care of your every wish, you simply can’t ask for more. We always feel a warm welcome and it’s truly a place like “home” away from home. No doubt, we will return.

Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy our stay. The bathroom had a running toilet that we asked them to fix but nothing was done. The food feels a bit stuffy and not really a place for a family with 6 and 9 year olds. No kid options were available. The pool staff rushed us out of the pool. Didn’t provide us towels until we asked, etc. would expect higher level of service. The internet was out while we were there. They said it was a carrier issue. It was just unfortunate and cherry on top of a frustrating stay.
