Cascade Wellness Resort

A wonderful resort with a stunning view of the ocean. The breakfast had everything you could ask for and the pool areas were great with lots of beds. The staff was nice and helpful with everything. We had a great stay!

This property has a 5-star main building with cliffside views but the accommodations tell a completely different story. We stayed in a villa that seemed more of a 3 star and it desperately needed attention. It was glaringly obvious that management is neglecting current maintenance and upkeep because of a major renovation that is scheduled for next year (a point the staff repeatedly emphasized to us).While the impending update is great news for future guests, it doesn't justify the current lack of care for paying customers today. We were originally booked for 4 days, but the state of the villa was so disappointing that we checked out after just one night (first time for this). Specifically, there was mold and bugs in the bathroom and the couch in the sitting area was very badly stained, but generally there was overall additional upkeep required. On the positive side, the staff were very nice. They seemed to understand our issue with the current condition of the villas.

Stayed at the Cascade Wellness Resort to take in the various sites in the Algarve. The Algarve was spectacular. From the cliffs, cave, small towns, water, sunsets...it was all fantastic. But our room at the Cascades must have had a somewhat recent (recent because it was not repaired) floor water damage. It probably started in the bathroom. The entire entrance way into the room was buckled up by at least 2 cm in several places. The molding between the tiled floor and the carpet was now no longer adhering in several places. The food, drink, and service was very good to excellent there and it is a convenient location, but the room we were in should have been decommissioned until repaired. That is a failure of the management of the Cascade.

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our 5-year-old son and had a wonderful time. We stayed in a self-catering one-bedroom apartment, which was perfectly suited to our needs. It was clean, had plenty of storage space, and was comfortable throughout. The kitchen was a little basic, but it didn’t spoil the holiday at all. Everything worked well, and the coffee pods for the Nespresso machine were replaced daily, which was a nice touch. The apartment had loads of space for the three of us, and we never felt cramped. One of the highlights for our son was the sand pool, which was brilliant. There were lots of children playing there and plenty of toys for them to use, so it was a real favourite during our stay. We also used the other pool, though not as much, and there were always loads of sunbeds available, so there was never any problem getting one. We didn’t get around to using the spa and our son didn’t go to the kids’ club either, but we were told both were very good. We hired a car, which I would definitely recommend. Lagos is walkable if you don’t mind around half an hour and a few hills, but with a child, the car made everything much easier. We also enjoyed a few days out driving around, and Lagos was easy to get around with plenty of parking. The restaurant at the hotel was fantastic — we ended up eating there far more than planned. The service was amazing and the food was excellent, especially the seafood and fish, which were beautifully cooked. We would definitely eat there again. There was also an Italian restaurant, which I think was a newer addition, and that was great too — the pizzas were excellent, and we got takeaway from there a couple of times. The staff were lovely and quick to help with anything we needed. For example, there was no safe in our room when we arrived, but we mentioned it to reception and one was fitted straight away. The only small issue was that there wasn’t enough cutlery and crockery, but overall this didn’t affect our stay. We would happily return and highly recommend this resort for families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Service is ok. Staff by the pool very miserable and one lady was very rude in particular. Spoke the duty manager then spoke to another manager higher Christina I believe about it . Nothing was done unfortunately.
