Reviews for The Ranch at Laguna Beach

Great location but overpriced.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

Overall, a pleasant stay. In my honest opinion, it is overpriced. I'm in no rush to return. Rooms were $500+ per night and that's on the cheaper side. There was a buy 2 get a third night for free which made things palatable, just. Very nicely decorated room - rustic, old-world charm. You are also charged a resort fee per day and a parking fee per day. I can think of many hotels with much better rooms for $500 a night. The golf course is $100 for 9 holes - that's ludicrous and many reviews have complained about the ongoing increases in rates. What was strange and a buzz kill was housekeeping knocking on your door at 8pm, opening the door a foot or so, "Housekeeping, can I get you anything?" Very strange and unnecessary. If a guest needs something, we will ask. You can imagine situations where you are interrupted inappropriately...what if I was sleeping? Or in the bathroom? Or with my partner? Definitely change that policy/procedure in place. I would also invest in a barista to teach the staff at their beachside cafe how to make great coffee (it's really ordinary) - they could double their coffee sales within 6-9 months. Also, make a killer breakfast sandwich - theirs is plain - and comes with chips and salsa. Strange combo. My honest feedback is, there's not great value for money here. It is a beautiful location but more could be done to make it more memorable.

Fabulous 4 days spent relaxing at the end of a 3 week holiday before heading back to the UK. Loved every minute of it and will definitely be recommending it

Excellent stay at The Ranch

Excellent experience at the Ranch. Very high level of service in a wonderful place near the beach, but immersed in a vey well kept green environment and with great attention to sustainability. Lots of facilities all brand new. Great people working there. Price/quality ratio excellent.

2nd stay, not the last

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is our second stay and will not be our last. The staff is exceptional and the grounds extremely relaxing. It’s a touch of the islands in a canyon setting, only a few steps from the beautiful braces of Laguna. We can’t wait to come back!!!
