The Ranch at Laguna Beach

My stay at The Ranch at Laguna Beach felt completely different from a traditional resort experience in the best possible way. The property has a peaceful, tucked-away atmosphere while still being just a short walk from the ocean and some of Laguna Beach’s best spots. One of the coolest features is the safe underground tunnel that takes you beneath the road directly to the beach area. Once across, there’s a small beachfront spot for beers, drinks, and light bites that made for a perfect casual stop during the day. The location is excellent — you’re also within walking distance of Montage Laguna Beach, which makes it easy to explore the surrounding area while still returning to a much more quiet and natural environment at The Ranch. The property itself is spread across beautifully maintained grounds with multiple smaller lodging buildings rather than one massive hotel tower. Having around 10 or so rooms per building gives the resort a much more private and relaxed feel. There’s plenty to do on property as well. The Harvest restaurant was excellent, the golf course adds to the laid-back California atmosphere, and there’s also a spa, bocce ball courts, and a pool that all fit naturally into the setting without feeling overcrowded or overdeveloped. One thing that really stood out was the resort’s eco-conscious approach. You can tell sustainability and environmental awareness are genuinely part of how they operate and design the property rather than just marketing language. The entire resort blends naturally into the landscape and feels intentionally low-impact while still delivering a luxury experience. Overall, The Ranch at Laguna Beach is ideal if you want a more relaxed, nature-focused, and thoughtfully designed coastal getaway that still gives you easy access to the beach and nearby Laguna attractions.

Fantastic staff, service, food, and amenities. Beautiful scenery and perfect location. If you are looking for excellent service, staff, food, and amenities this is the place! Service and staff: truly top notch. Every team member, every department, every aspect. The spa massage was heavenly. Harvest Restaurant is a 5 Star experience. Lost Pier Cafe also excellent. Wedding and reception staff and facilities are the best of the best. Housekeeping on point. Golf cart staff to help move you about when needed are amazing. There is something to note about the rooms, which is the reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars. The bed was perfection comfort wise; but the only option within our budget was a king size bed. This meant we would have needed to upgrade well above the special group rate to accommodate our needs. It ended up ok because I was staying with a family member but for the price would definitely have appreciated separate beds. Our room could have used a bit of freshening/updating in the way of modern amenities like a functional bedside clock and updated USB ports. The hair dryer was about 10 years old and is probably on its last legs because of the noise and lack of drying capacity. The bathroom was very clean but had a noticeable and strong musty smell. This made the difference in my rating. Perhaps not all rooms have these issues though. I would definitely return if my budget allow$ it.

A+++ all aspects. Combination of activities / golf on site and the Canyon location directly across PCH from one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

Great location and a very luxurious resort. Great front desk staff, (Amy & Robert were amazing!) beautiful property!!
