Surf & Sand Laguna Beach

Just one night with an upgraded room from Amex. Best sleep with natural sleep sound machine! Staff so friendly and food was fantastic.

Where to begin?! The Valets (I regret I did not write down their names!!) and Bellmen (Sam and Christopher) among the best! We were welcomed with kindness, enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, and genuine smiles. Thank you to Maxine, Kevin, Allie, Hanna, Sydney and Christina (among other Guest Experience Hosts) for keeping it real and helping us anytime we needed. Special thank you to the Housekeeping folks who kept us stocked up on whatever we needed and taking such good care of us. The day and turndown crew were superb. Special thanks to Marcia. I will no doubt have missed many names of people who made such a wonderful stay so extra special. There were the ladies who were hostesses at Splashes who were terrific as well, in addition to the restaurant manager. Lovely lovely people. The fellas who stocked the towels for the pool and beach. They kept everything ship shape every day. It's a joy to walk through a resort and see the environment clean and orderly and ready for fun. Not to forget the young bartender with the blond mustache who offered me refreshments when I was on the beach and thought nobody noticed me there. So kind and appreciated. I hope my review covers each and every person that I mentioned. If not, I will happily start all over with one review per individual. The choice is yours, but please be aware of how much your entire staff creates a whole, relaxing, special, unique, memorable and cherished experience we look forward to sharing again. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. The small beach is beautiful. Maxine was a great hostess and greeter. We would love to visit again.

We came here for my mother’s birthday and daughter’s birthday. We arrived at 3pm we booked two rooms and one day was ocean view second day pool view. We wanted both rooms on the same floor. They made it happen but we couldn’t get checked in till 7pm the front desk was apologetic and told us we could stay in the same room for both days. So the pool view was upgraded for one day. As we were leaving the we asked for the new keys and Ken the manager told us we had to switch rooms saying he upgraded us to ocean view for one day not both and we had to check out and wait for our new rooms we had to cancel whale watch and breakfast to do this. But we checked and we paid for ocean view first day and they never upgraded anything. Instead of helping us he just argued with us kind of embarrassing my family and wasted our day. I been coming here almost 8 years but the customer service of this guy makes me rather go to Laguna niguel ritz Carlton same price better customer service is you want to be treated like your staying at a motel or you don’t care about that customer service it’s probably the hotel on Laguna beach but thanks to him we rather go somewhere else for now on where they have better customer service and you can check in and not be treated like a peasant.

This was my first time staying at the S&S. The hotel is beautiful. The room was comfortable and spacious. We had a full 180 degree view of the Pacific from our balcony. Wonderful bar, delicious breakfast. Service was stellar. Hotel is a mile walk downtown to Forest Ave. Highly recommend!
