Frubedly staff - View Wasn't As Advertized

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

had a great time in Maui and absolutely loved the island. The resort overall was nice — staff were friendly, and the activity concierge was awesome. That said, if you’re booking an ocean view room, be aware that it’s really more of a partial ocean view. The main view is of the opposite side of the hotel, not the ocean itself. The booking description doesn’t make that clear, and when I brought it up to staff, they didn’t seem particularly concerned and seemed a bit annoyed by the question. Save yourself the extra $100 per night — the partial view is essentially the same, or consider staying at the nearby Westin instead. Overall, it was a good stay and I’d come back, but I was definitely disappointed to pay for a “better” view and not get what I expected.

Relaxing!

Very relaxing venue where we return every year. Pool area is relatively small, and it might be clouded during the high season, but very quiet and comfortable after Labor Day weekend.

Beautiful condominium, close to one of the best beach in Maui, and to many restaurants, shops... very well located. We appreciated the spa and the gym as well

A great place for our entire family (23) to share together in the Maui experience!

We had 22 family members ranging from 3 months to 71 years old, and we were all able to stay at one location, the Kaanapali Alii Resort. We enjoyed the ocean (surfing, snorkeling, playing, body surfing, skim boarding), pools (particularly with the younger family members), barbecue area and everything else that the resort had to offer. The gym was also nicely anointed. It was a very convenient location, walking distance to Black Rock for jumping and snorkeling, (although there was excellent snorkeling at the reef past the waves in front of the Alii), and close to Whalers Village and other resorts and restaurants. I always enjoy the walking path that goes for miles in both directions. We would definitely return and are talking about making it an annual trip.
