Kaanapali Alii

The Alii has gone downhill. We had several issues with our room (plumbing didn't work in bathtub, icemake and water dispurser didn't work in fridge and the main TV in the living room didn't work. Also, the pool water was green two of the days. Our relatives also had issues in their rooms.

beautiful property and a perfect location in Ka'anapali. we rented a 2 bedroom unit and it was just as advertised. very clean. mostly updated amenities in the unit. very responsive and helpful property staff. Easy walking distance to Whalers Village and a short drive to all of the west side points of interest.

Great spacious room at a great location. Short walking distance to the Whaler's Village where they have shopping and restaurants. Steps away from the beach.

We have stayed at Alii many times the staff all of them are excellent. Every room we’ve had in the past has been perfect. We love the resort. Room 182 has old appliances and terrible mattresses. The master mattress doesn’t fit the bed frame and we stubbed our toes on that bed frame over and over. I ended up sleeping on the couch most nights waking up with shoulder and back pain.

Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience I paid for a full ocean view room and was given a room with a worse view than family members who paid for partial ocean view. When I brought this to the staff’s attention, they offered to either move me or refund the upgrade. I chose the refund. At checkout, no one had any record of the refund agreement. I had to explain everything again, only to be told it was a “he said, she said” situation—implying I was lying. Completely unacceptable. When I followed up again by phone, I was told they should never have booked me a 1-bedroom full ocean view because that room type doesn’t even exist—they only offer full ocean views in 2-bedroom units. So not only did they take my money under false pretenses, they also refused to refund it after acknowledging their mistake. Disorganized, misleading, and unprofessional from start to finish. I’m shocked at how poorly this was handled, and even more upset by the insinuation that I wasn’t being truthful. I will not be returning.
