UNIT 312 INFO

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Rented Unit 312 through Maui Resort Rentals. Liked it was on the first floor. Easy access to beach and pool. However, for UNIT 312 the lanai is *right* next to the dumpster for the building and it’s also a service area. Constant trucks, service vehicles, golf carts, dump trucks etc. coming and going/working about 15 feet from the outdoor dining table. Wafting smell of trash made sitting on the patio an issue. I didn’t see that mentioned in any of the reviews so I don’t know if management (Maui Resort Rentals) is deleting mention of this? The unit itself is nice and quite large. Note: the pull out sofa bed is NOT in the living room, it is in a small office attached to the master bedroom. So, we had to put one of our teens basically in the master bedroom with us. It’s really just an alcove off the bedroom with sliding doors where the bed is, that is only large enough for the bed when pulled out—no space to walk, no place to store luggage or hang clothes etc—two people would not fit in there so the listing should say “sleeps 5” not 6. It would be ideal if you had a very young child or crib. Not so much full size adult/teen. That could have been made more clear in the listing—we would have selected a different unit. (The photos online are not accurate- there is different furniture in the living room - it’s a sectional sofa now which obviously does not pull out to a bed—photos are misleading). We thought we’d have one teen in the bedroom off the living room and the other on the pull out living room couch sharing that bathroom. And my husband and I would have the master bedroom to ourselves. Kaanapali Alli is a nice property in a GREAT location. There are TONS of young children in the pool area (I counted 14 children all under age 8 or so in hot tub with us) so we spent most of time at beach. KA provides beach chairs and umbrellas ($60/day) - but get there early or they will all be gone for the day. Would return to KA (we’ve actually stayed there before) but not to unit 312.

Great condo, the building and grounds are well cared for and the staff are friendly helpful, warm and welcoming.

Kaanapali Ali was the perfect location for our vacation. We originally looked at staying near Wailea but took a chance at Alii despite it being located further from the airport and in a busier area along Kaanapali beach. But, it turned out the location was ideal, with so many great oceanside restaurants, bars, coffee shops and shopping (at Whalers Village) meant we could walk everywhere when we didn’t want to take our car out. It’s also close to, and easy access (30 minutes) to Maalea harbour for whale watching (although alternate tours can be booked right from the beach) and to grocery shopping at Safeway. The staff were exceptional, the pool area was a bit small but very nice and we felt completely safe during our stay. Our two bedroom condo was well equipped, clean and well furnished. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends. Contact Shantelle at Coral Tree for great service.

Perfect snorkeling HQ! 10-Minute Walk to Teralani ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

We booked Unit 471 specifically for a November snorkeling trip, and it exceeded every expectation. The location is unbeatable—we literally walked 10 minutes from our condo to the sand where the Teralani catamarans load. No driving to the harbor, no parking stress, just wake up, have coffee on the lanai, and go. We also had the chance to watch game 7 of the world series on the giant TV by the pool with fans from around the world. It was a once in a lifetime experience. The unit itself is stunning. We loved having the full kitchen to make breakfast before our morning tours. But the highlight was sitting on the private lanai at sunset! If you're coming for whale season, this is the absolute best place to stay. We’ve already booked our return trip.

Frubedly staff - View Wasn't As Advertized

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

had a great time in Maui and absolutely loved the island. The resort overall was nice — staff were friendly, and the activity concierge was awesome. That said, if you’re booking an ocean view room, be aware that it’s really more of a partial ocean view. The main view is of the opposite side of the hotel, not the ocean itself. The booking description doesn’t make that clear, and when I brought it up to staff, they didn’t seem particularly concerned and seemed a bit annoyed by the question. Save yourself the extra $100 per night — the partial view is essentially the same, or consider staying at the nearby Westin instead. Overall, it was a good stay and I’d come back, but I was definitely disappointed to pay for a “better” view and not get what I expected.
