Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Lake Como

I stayed at their sister property Villa Sola Cabiati (owned by Grand Hotel Tremezzo), but spent a big part of my time at Grand Hotel Tremezzo lakefront pool and their restaurants. This is an outstanding hotel in a gorgeous spot. Just note, because of the prime location their restaurants were double the price of other Lake Como restaurants, though the service and food were always excellent. I paid 175 euros for 4 large shrimp. But it was one of best views I've ever had. The hotel had a lot of old-world charm, but had a modern luxury feel as well. I did not feel it was overrun by influencers, which I saw someone write. Everyone seemed classy and people were more elegant here, but it still felt welcoming. That said, at least 8 ladies I saw made their husband take a few pictures of them on the lakefront pool. But no one spent more than a couple minutes getting that lakefront photo. They have the best beanbags ever on the floating lake front pool. I'd describe them as heavenly. There were always available sunbeds with freshly replaced towels when I went the last week of September. I recommend commissioning boats, which the Villa (if you're staying there) or the Grand Hotel Tremezzo staff can help arrange. Boats are perfect for 66 to 75 degree weather (19 to 24 C), but be sure to bring a sweater as when the boat picks up speed, and when the temperatures drop in the late afternoon, you're not cold. It actually felt warmer on the lake - with the sun reflecting on the water - than what the weather report said, but if you're going fast, it's cooler. Friendly travel note: Do not under any circumstances take an afternoon flight out of Milan (the airport nearest Lake Como) back to North America. Your best bet (if you don't have a private plane) is waking up very early, taking a taxi to Milan airport (typically 1 hour 15 minutes), and catching an earlier flight to avoid the chaos.

The Grand Hotel Tremezzo is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever enjoyed staying at. First of all, the staff at every level could not have been nicer or more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, and we send our thanks to Silvio, the GM, and Anna for their kindness. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the sea view rooms are stunning. The food in the fine dining restaurant was exceptional, and at the other restaurants quite good in general. The beach bar is also good fun. We hope to come back again soon.

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality, warmth, and attention to detail from the entire team were exceptional. A very special thank you to GM Silvio and Anna, who went above and beyond to make my 50th birthday incredibly special. Their thoughtfulness and personal attention made the celebration feel truly memorable. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the four-hour private boat tour of Lake Como that we reserved through the hotel. It was an incredible way to experience the lake, and our captain, Alessandro, was fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly, and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. It was easily one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. The hotel itself is spectacular, but what really sets Grand Hotel Tremezzo apart is the people. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We could not have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate such a special milestone. Grand Hotel Tremezzo exceeded our expectations, and we will absolutely be back.

Influencers have ruined this hotel experience. I have stayed here three times and the level of influencers filming at a hotel of this level is sad. Do something about it because based on my experience…I will probably not be back

The minute you walked into this hotel, you know you have arrived. The atmosphere is relaxed, elegant, classy, and old school chic. It’s about an hour drive from Como city. I took a taxi from Milan airport to the hotel. I booked a garden view and it was very nice. The room is luxurious with all the amenities you want in a luxury hotel like the Grand Tremezzo. The bed is very comfortable and the sheets and pillows are heavenly.
