This hotel is worth splurging on! Amazing property with rich history. Loved the hotel tour! Had a nice run along the river, great meal at Vermillion, and the Rundle Bar tender made me a custom cocktail!

We had a marvelous stay at the Fairmont at Banff! It is a gorgeous and well maintained hotel. The rooms, the food, the facility- all were splendid! We were so impressed with the entire staff! Also- when we wanted to tip the staff- they were insistent that they were not to take gratuities. In particular, we had a waiter for our breakfasts name Maxime - he was remarkable! Although it was a random coincidence that we sat in his section our two mornings in a row- he immediately saw we were sitting and he asked if we were having two lattes, a chai, and a tea- our exact previous day’s order. On both days he was charming and informative. He made recommendations that we have since visited and enjoyed. We couldn’t have been more happy with our time on that stay.

Hi Julie, This is Dave I used to go by Rich but have officially changed my name because of you. The adventure we took with you was a 10 stars out of 5. You are awesome! We will miss the Jackie of all trades.

First time here, a very unique property with stunning views and little surprises around every corner. Staff and service were excellent. Drinks at Rundle were fabulous, pricey but to be expected. Room was decent we were in the Gatehouse and had a nice little sitting room. Only complaint was how small the closet was and the hallway smelled a bit musty. Otherwise clean room with comfy beds. Enjoyed my time at the spa and took full advantage of the facilities for 3 hours before my massage. Outdoor mineral tub was my favorite very peaceful and relaxing. Went to the Italian restaurant on our last night there, and while the food tasted delicious I was a bit aghast at how small the rigatoni and meatballs/sausage were for $52. About 15 pieces of pasta and the smallest meatballs and sausage I’ve ever seen in my life. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

I am torn for giving the Fairmont Banff Springs a 3-star rating, however I just couldn't get over the tiniest hotel bathroom I've ever seen at a luxury property nonetheless. I do have to say that the service at this property is outstanding. The Fairmont Gold experience is fantastic as was the amazing Gold Concierge, Oliver. When I checked in I was assigned an accessible room which I was disappointed with. The concierge on duty assured me they would try to find me another room starting the next day, and in hindsight I almost wish I'd kept the accessible room as it was much larger with a huge bathroom compared to what I got in my next room. Oliver was so very kind as upgraded me to a junior suite on the Gold level with amazing views. The room was absolutely lovely aside from the tiniest bathroom I've ever seen in any hotel, much less a luxury property. I understand that the age of this property necessitated some creative bathroom locations due to plumbing, however this is on the ridiculously small side. It was impossible to event close the door with one person standing in the bathroom. Otherwise, everything was fantastic with my stay: Fairmont Gold 5/5: The Gold reception area with dedicated valet and check-in makes the gold experience feel like a hotel within a hotel. The gold floor is so special with a dedicated concierge (say hello to Oliver for me :-), and the best lounge food and beverages I've experienced. The breakfast is out of this world, and the evening food is more like a meal than hors d'oeuvres. There is a cash bar that is also quite good. The seating and ambiance in the lounge is just wonderful. Again, giving it that hotel within a hotel feel. Food 5/5: I ate at the Rundle bar and STOCK. Rundle bar is fantastic and the bar food was exceptional. STOCK had great quick bites. SPA 5/5: Even though there was a mix-up with my massage therapist picking me up 10 minutes late, I realize mistakes happen and he made up for it with an exceptional massage. The spa facilities are quite nice. Room 3/5: Again, it was the tiny laughable bathroom that garnered this score. Otherwise the rooms are quite well furnished and everything you'd expect from a luxury property. Service 5/5+: Hands down the nicest staff who make this a very special place to be.
