Reviews for Rimrock Banff, Emblems Collection

Will be better soon ....

Having visited the Rimrock in 2024 and now again in 2026, there are some differences. The renovation over the last year certainly improved and modernized the public areas as well as the rooms. The lobby bar, Social, had a decent selection of food and snacks. What was obvious was the "growing pains" the hotel was going through, with I assume - many new staff members and procedures for them to learn. Luggage was not picked up on time and the valet seemed indifferent about it when I brought it to his attention. Also, their web site seems incomplete - it was extremely difficult to find menus for the on site restaurants. I have no doubt they will improve with time and proper supervision and management.

Stunning mountain views and nearby pool

The hotel was charming and classic - ideal with parents or families. The breakfast buffet did not disappoint and it was peaceful to walk in the wooden trails surrounding the resort - watch out for deers or other wildlife animals! Our room view was spectacular and we spent one of our afternoon just reading by the window. Highly recommend to stay during your time in Banff.

Luxury under construction

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Let me start by saying that the location and staff are amazing. Unfortunately it goes down from there, at least until the rebuild is completed. We booked our stay based on the photos and available rooms. Unbeknownst to us, there was still a rebuild going on so when we arrived, the room we had booked (Wellness Peak View room with a private terrace) wasn’t even built. They did upgraded us to a larger room, which was a very nice suite…with a view of the hotel entrance so a bit noisy with busses pulling in. What we came to understand was that the hotel had been purchased and was being renovated. The pool and spa area were still under construction. I could have missed it, but I don’t recall it being mentioned on the website when we booked. It also felt a bit disingenuous to get charged a $60 destination/resort/urban fee when the resort part of the hotel wasn’t available, but I’m not confident that fee was just for the “resort”. To be fair, the hotel is beautiful and will be wonderful when completed. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. The bar and restaurants are comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed our time unwinding there. Ask to see the hidden bar (speakeasy) it’s really cool and would have been great to relax in. I should also mention that the grab and go coffee shop is wonderful. Did I mention that the staff was fantastic. Overall we had a very nice stay. Unfortunately, for the price, which even for Banff is pretty expensive, it felt like the Rimrock is overflow for people who can’t get reservations at the Fairmont (same ownership group). When the spa is completed and all the amenities are up and running, this will be a wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful hotel- no pool/whirl pool

Beautiful hotel- came here after a day of biking. Couldn’t wait to jump in the pool. Take a whirlpool. Lie in the sun. I had an hour and a half- it’s all under construction NOTHING’. They did say they would take us to another hotel but I don’t have time!

**Worst venue service**

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This place let us down big TIME! Kinda ruined my brother's wedding to be honest and pi**ed pretty much everyone off! They paid so much for their special day and nothing was ready when we got there at the assigned time. The assigned seating wasn't set up, the signs weren't set up, the bride was handing out her own drink tickets, the speakers/music weren't set up. The worst part, charging people at the bar for things that were already paid for. You cut my brother, the groom, off at the private bar at 9:30pm when he wasn't even drunk. Just trying to enjoy a good time his special day. Rimrock you owe my brother and his wife an apology, maybe even some money back for the sh*t show YOU caused. Don't waste your money on this place for your special day people, go else where !!!! The disorganization for such a high-end place is incredible. Signed the Madore's
