Wowza…. This is one of those hotels that lives up to the hype. You aren’t going to find a more beautiful location than this pretty much anywhere in the world. The staff is off the chart and their professionalism and wanting to help you. The basin is their new spa and it’s well worse spending the extra money for the three hours experience. Make sure you rent a car and drive north towards Jasper and also spend time in Banff. This is just a great area. We probably took more pictures than we have in one week ever in our lives.

Travelled here with large family from all over N. America. Splurged and got 4 suites overlooking the lake on a high floor. Seriously you could just sit and stare out the windows for hours! Although Parks Canada was dealing with extremely high tourist volumes at the lake, once you entered the Chateau it was a sanctuary! We also required a wheelchair accessible room which turned out to be quite large and workable. The dining venues are exquisite but very busy this time of year, with a huge variety of local and international food and wine. Pool, steam and hot tub area are not up to other Fairmont Hotel standards, fairly dated. ⁸

Wow, just wow. The views are stunning, to see an actual glacier and beautiful blue Lake from your room is a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you to all the friendly, kind and helpful staff working there. Special thanks to Gabby and Amy working at the Lounge dining area, your service was the best. Also thank you to our room housekeeping Luis Askyo(sorry if spelt wrong), your kindness was truly appreciated.

Probably one of the best experiences I have had in 40 plus years of travel. Canada was new to my wife. The people, food, service and the scenery were all beyond our wildest expectation. However, the Fairmont Lake Louise was the icing on the cake. Nestling among the mountains and beside its own lake makes this a fairytale setting. But beyond that, the accommodation was first class, the food excellent, the facilities and amenities and the things to do either at the hotel or nearby made this place either a self-contained paradise or a perfect place for exploring the Rockies. Our biggest impression, however, was the service we received from every ember of staff we met. It was like being with friends; every person we engaged with was a credit to the brand and made the stay that bit more personal. We were so impressed that we tried to book a suite for Xmas to bring our daughter and her family but they were fully booked, which wasn't a surprise but did disappoint us slightly. That said, we've asked them to reserve a suite for Xmas 2026. We though the Fairmont Banff was magical but this broke new highs for us.

Huge disappointment! It started with check-in. We were met by a lady with a very strong accent, who we simply couldn't understand. This was the 5th Fairmont property that we stayed in during a 3 week trip. At each one we were greeted with 'hello, I am pleased to tell you that you have been upgraded.....! When in reality you haven't! This must be a Fairmont thing! The rooms are tiny, and the bathrooms are so small that they are impractical. The wash basin was about the width of 1.5 tubes of toothpaste. There was no room to place any toiletries, so I had to put wash bag on the floor. The breakfast experience is awful. We were told that breakfast service commences at 07:00. As we wanted to be out early, we arrived at 06:50 to join a long queue, and was seated in an overcrowded room at 07:25. The buffet was devoid of food! It felt like a bad 3* 'all inclusive hotel free for all. One of the reasons for the queue and overcrowding were several huge groups of Asian tourists, who were given priority! The icing on the cake, was when I found out the disparity in room rates for groups and individual bookings. The groups get discount, priority and take over the place, largely spoiling the hotel experience for individuals / couples who are paying considerably more. This was made worse when you exit the hotel to see the lake. Here you are fighting for space with the hotel groups, which are joined by many many more groups who are bussed in, in masses. The rocks along the lake shore are adorned by hundreds of Instagram posing individuals. Sadly the whole experience was a costly disappointment! We felt ripped off. This is a very expensive hotel at which you feel insignificant, not at all what we thought we were paying for.

At Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada, the many delights of this mini-vacation began with the views of beautiful Lake Louise from our luxurious room on the Gold Floor. Our days were filled with cross-country skiing, invigorating hikes in the snow, afternoon high tea, evening happy hours, and a fantastic birthday dinner at Poppie's Restaurant in the Chateau! All this was made even more enjoyable by the ever friendly and helpful hotel staff. What was the highlight of this trip? How can we choose - we loved it all!
