Post Hotel & Spa - great location and lovely hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

The Post Hotel is a very nice hotel in Lake Louise - wonderfully located just a 5 min walk from the tiny Samson Mall, which has bakeries/store/shops and where all the tour buses depart from to Lakes Louise and Moraine. It's a large, somewhat dated hotel (carpeting, lodge design) in design, with helpful front desk and staff. It has an on-site pool and indoor hot tub. We booked a two-story/2 BR room, which was a lot of space, although rather dark. The full BR even had a whirlpool tub which was great. As we were there in the summer, there is no AC (unless you rent one from the hotel), so we had the windows open all night, but two fans were provided in the rooms. We were on the "railway" side of the hotel, so there is noise during the night from long trains outside, although they may not bother sound sleepers. The lounge was great for inventive drinks, their pub good for lunch or quick dinner, and their on-site upstairs restaurant was one of the best meals we have ever had. Fantastic. Another great perk offered by the hotel is free shuttles to/from Lake Louise throughout the day - as parking there is near impossible. Overall - a really great place to stay.

Great hotel, excellent service, superb dining, great wine collection, brilliant sommelier. I hope you like trains! They do provide earplugs due to the proximity of the rail line.

ONE OF THE BEST PLACES WE HAVE EVER STAYED..WORTH STRETCHING YOUR BUDGET FOR THIS WONDERFUL ACCOMODATION

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We have traveled to many countries and this may be our favorite hotel that we have ever visited. The people were so war, and the accomdations were terrific. Our room had a lovely balcony facing the mountains, as well as a small balcony with a table and chairs. It was too cold for us Floridians to enjoy this. The bathroom was large and had a walk in shower as well as a bathtub with jets. Towels were plentiful and the robes were great. The actual room was great, A chair and a loveseat. Plentiful drawer space. The building is made in log cabin style and that continues into the room. The housekeeping was terrific and the nightly turn down was a treat. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and it was superb. Our dinner was only $274 Canadian ($200 USD) and considering the quality of the meal, that was a bargain. We ate the the hotel restaurant both morning that we were there. Of the offerings that we had, the Bananas Foster was out favorite. A the chance to sit by the window in their beautiful dining and have a delightful server was definitely special. Each day our breakfast was around $50 CAD ($36 USD). Our room was $885 CAD ( $639 USD) and in anyone's world a bargain for accommodations of this type. We did not have a chance to use the spa, but other guests spoke well of the offerings.

Lovely Stay in Lake Louise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Lovely hotel! Staff is warm and helpful. Hotel is charming and in a perfect location near shops and Lake Louise. Hotel has free shuttle service to and from Lake Moraine and Lake Louise, meaning that parking was never an issue for us at the lakes. The pool/hot tub area are lovely for an afternoon soak. The hotel has two restaurants: a casual pub and a formal dining room. Know that you have to dress up for the dining room (formal wear only) so bring a fancy outfit if you want to partake!
