Originally built in 1942, The Post Hotel resonates with the spirit of its colorful founder, Sir Norman Watson and the dedication of its current owners who were raised to appreciate good food, good wine and good company. For more than 35 years, their shared passion has been to welcome guests to this world-class Canadian Rocky Mountain resort. The Post Hotel & Spa is both the ideal accommodation for relaxation and the perfect starting point for most Canadian Rockies tours.

Gorgeous hotel in a lovely setting. Extremely good restaurant, with an exceptional wine cellar and very knowledgeable sommelier. Lovely staff throughout the property. Very convenient for the skiing at Lake Louise. we chose to drive ourselves each day but there is an efficient and regular shuttle service provided. We booked a midweek package, to include breakfast (excellent) and ski passes; overall good value for money

Post Hotel is a magical property with fabulous helpful staff. This is our second visit, the first in the winter. It's an easy drive from Banff. Once you get there, an easy shuttle to Lake Louise Ski area, a 30 min drive to Banff Sunshine Ski area or Johnston Canyon for a beautiful hike (be sure to rent ice cleats). It's a smaller property, low crowds, with a lovely afternoon tea service in the lobby. There's a few shops walking distance across the bridge. Dining in the area is limited and something to consider for a multi-day stay. We drove to Emerald Lake Lodge and the Fairmont for some diversity from the on property options.

Unfortunately, our experience did not meet the expectations we had for a refined and professional environment. We encountered several issues that hindered the effectiveness of our meetings. The organization of our sessions felt haphazard, with inadequate equipment provided. Basic necessities such as pens and paper were unavailable, which affected our ability to facilitate productive discussions. Additionally, the overall ambiance was not conducive to a professional setting. We noticed signs taped to the walls, dirty plates left behind, and mismatched cups, which contributed to a sense of disarray rather than a polished atmosphere. Our facilitator attempted to address these concerns with the meeting manager but was met with a series of excuses and a lack of actionable solutions. This was particularly frustrating, as we expected better responsiveness and support during our retreat. In hindsight, we feel that a venue like the Holiday Inn would have offered a more suitable environment for our group’s needs. We found the hotel a bit unkept We appreciate your attention to this matter and hope that this feedback can help improve the experience for future groups.

Posting our review to provide feedback regarding our recent stay at the Post Hotel from February 18–19, which was intended to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. We would like to begin by thanking Jill at the front desk for accommodating our date change due to the winter storm in Calgary. She graciously offered us an upgrade to the Fairview Cabin (Room 102), which we accepted and appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience in the cabin was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the cabin was uncomfortably cold, with slate floors and no area rugs. Despite the thoughtful gesture of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, we were unable to relax and remained in our parkas. A significant draft through the front door persisted throughout our stay, despite our request for weather stripping to be addressed. Heating instructions were not provided, and the cabin had not been pre-warmed prior to our arrival. Additional space heaters were added, but even with these measures, the cabin remained difficult to heat adequately. Furthermore, the electrical system was insufficient to support basic use: running the heaters, television, and coffee maker simultaneously repeatedly tripped the breaker, resulting in a service call to restore the television. On the morning of February 19, there was no hot water in the cabin, nor at the spa, which prevented us from showering. This was particularly concerning given the hotel’s reputation and price point. The pool was also notably cold and not enjoyable. Housekeeping service was inconsistent and incomplete. Despite coordinating times when the room could be cleaned, the cabin was not properly serviced. Floors remained dirty, glassware was not replaced, and turndown service was minimal. We would like to acknowledge two positive experiences. Ms. Roux provided excellent, knowledgeable wine service and was a pleasure to speak with, and Jayce at the Fondue Stübli delivered professional and attentive service during a very enjoyable dinner. These individuals reflect well on your team. However, attention to detail was lacking in other areas, including improperly sized teaspoons served with espresso in both restaurants and insufficient electrical capacity in the cabin, which prevented normal grooming activities. We checked out on February 20, relieved to conclude what was, unfortunately, a very poor stay. We strongly feel that this cabin is not suitable for winter occupancy and should not be offered during colder months without significant improvements to heating, insulation, and electrical systems. The Post Hotel has been the setting for many of our past celebrations, and it is deeply disappointing that this experience has overshadowed those memories.
