This review is for a stay at the Lake House only Pros Amazing view of the Mirror Lake Quiet Comfortable beds Plentiful hot water (not always a given) Cons Room was scruffy, chipped paint, mismatched furniture. Room was very gloomy, not all the lights were working - dark grey painted walls create a dour atmosphere. Soulless as it wasn’t part of the main hotel (which we knew when we booked) but as there was no staffed reception in the Lake House so you very felt isolated. No one around just empty communal areas. Overall the Lake House lacks love, as it devoid of any atmosphere, whilst the photos on the hotel website of the rooms aren’t incorrect they don’t accurately reflect how poor and dark the rooms actually look in reality. I wouldn’t recommend the Lake House for a stay, it doesn’t overall represent value for money. I’ve given it 2 stars solely based on the view of the Mirror Lake

Directions lead to the lodging across the street from the main hotel with no signage that the lobby is across the street. The bathroom has a bottle opener on the door frame, there’s exposed wires on wall, and only one outlet. Very strange features and seems to have very little upkeep. The views are great, and there’s a private yard attached to the separate lodging. There’s a lot of potential here. I hope to see it improve in the future.

Although the room was clean, staff and check-in pleasant, the hotel is dated, room a bit shabby, mold in shower ceiling, gross carpet, shudders didn't block early morning light. Travelocity has no business describing this as a "resort," nor "luxury' experience. Regardless of last minute booking, there was nothing that made the exorbitant rate worthwhile. Totally lacking in amenities, even the lovely view from the tiny balcony was NOT worth it, over the rooftops of buildings.

Wonderful hotel in fabulous location. Clean and comfortable rooms, lovely public areas and friendly efficient staff. Will surely stay here again when next in Lake Placid. In fact, already booked my next stay there! The location is right on the main street of Lake Placid, convent to many restaurants and shopping while also having great views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
