We stayed in the Lake House which is across the street from High Peaks Hotel (same property). All amenities at both properties are included. Paddle boats, kayaks, peddle boats, towels and waitstaff at the pool and lake. Lake House has a great open room/lobby with tables couches, games and a giant fire place and amazing views. Great for coffee in the am or a night cap before bed. There is a bar there but it was not open while we were there. Clean updated rooms with great views of Mirror Lake. Indoor & outdoors pools and Jacuzzis. Located at the end of Main Street an easy walk to....everything. The staff was great and the rooms were cleaned, thoroughly every day. If they couldn't get in your room, the sent a text to make sure you weren't missed. The cleaning staff should be highly complimented.

The Lake House at High Peaks Resort is marketed as a luxury hotel and priced accordingly. It is an extremely poor hotel with a beautiful view. The photo shows the “closet.” That is essentially the level of the entire room. The mattress and pillows are awful. The bathroom is cramped and badly designed. The shower cannot maintain a constant temperature, and the tub drains so slowly that you end up standing in dirty, slippery water. Mine has not been properly cleaned in three days and now has a gray-green ring of grime around it. A lake view cannot compensate for a room where you sleep badly and dread taking a shower.

We had a king junior suite with a fire place and jetted tub with a view directly on Lake Mirror. My experience is that it was a 2.5 star room with a 5 star view The room dated, the shower moldy, shower door sticks and the toilet seat fairly gross. I would next get into that jetted tub. The sheets were pilled and the bed was lumpy. They send out welcoming texts and mid-stay surveys, but respond to nothing via the text system. I did enjoy being right on the lake and using their water equipment. The room was very expensive and the value was not there. The atmosphere outside of the room was pleasant and we were in a nice quiet area in the absence of a major renovation i would stay elsewhere next time.

The facilities are in horrible condition. Everything from the furniture to the flooring was worn and in definite need of a total renovation.
