Our hotel is located on the enthralling Langkawi island or sometimes known as Legendary island as it is enshrouded with legends and myths. It is an archipelago of 104 islands overlooking the panoramic Andaman Sea and Straits of Malacca. This island derived its name from the abundance of eagles on the island.

Rooms were spacious, comfortable with a lovely view overlooking the mountains. Food was excellent in both choice and quality. Particularly enjoyed the long swimming pool. Plenty of sun loungers but it might cause a problem in the busy season. Friendly staff who went out of their way to greet you and be of good service.

It is a wonderful colonial, yet modern property. The food quality was fantastic and the overall service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the private villa - the pool was the best - clean and really nice temparature. Highly recommend Danna.

One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had in terms of service, pool, room and food. We travelled as a family of 4 during the Easter holiday for 4 days as part of a wider Malaysia trip. The Merchant room was able to handle two rollaway beds for the kids alongside the huge adult king bed. The a la carte (included) options at breakfast were brilliant to supplement the the full buffet. My wife tried the spa and loved it. The kids never wanted to leave the pool. The hotel location is 20mins by car to Chenang Beach and 3-4 mins to the cable car for the sky bridge.

Stayed in a Princess Villa during UK Easter holiday time. We have been lucky enough to sample a few hotels in Langkawi. The style of this hotel is colonial and polished business style. Princess Villa has lots of space for 2 adults and 2 children. Previous occupants left over food was outside our villa when we arrived - not the best first impression. Villa's pool area and beach access is really lovely. The villa has bi-folding doors that open onto the pool area - these are dripping with condensation in the morning. Difficult to clear it completely. Tile floor in the villa very slippery when kids have wet feet so we left a bath mat at the door to get feet dry before entering the villa. We only ate breakfast in the villa as the breakfast restaurant had a warning of 25min wait at peak times. Food was always hot when delivered and plenty. Service was ok - staff trying hard. 45min wait for food ordered at the beach/pool area or for room service. Overall the food was tasty. Villa was clean. The kids had mattresses on spring beds. These were ripped at the edges. Kids slept ok but I suspect they were not comfy. Frosting to the shower cubicle would have been appreciated as a family bathroom area (as it is with the toilet). What's app Messaging for service requests worked well. Buggy service available but not needed as hotel area is small. Rest of hotel is clean and with high ceilings/large doors appears grand but just seems to lack atmosphere. Main pool area large. Just about enough loungers - classic towel hogging happening but we didn't use the area for long with our own pool area. 'kids' area of the pool is just a very shallow space. Our kids were drawn to the mini water fountains as a play space but it was quite deep either side of this. We had a hire car which the hotel insisted on taking the keys for. Made us feel quite uncomfortable as we were liable for the car but did not know where it was. Often returned to us with smells suggesting others had been using it. Slightly heard the 'party' island just off the beach area out the front. Soft vibrations of low beats for a few hours in the evenings. Didn't bother us. Worse was the multi-coloured lights on the island - just looked tacky

We came back here for irresistable few reasons: 1. 5 star quality facilities. Always well-maintained. Beautiful, cozy ambience. 2. More than 5 star staff - their attentiveness, professionalism and warmth, esp En Arif, En Fuad, Chef Dzahir, Chef Rizal - you make us feel right at home. Thank you. You are definitely a pull factor for guests to return here. 3. Food. The roti canai. Mee curry, and muffins are some of the items we look forward to. 4. Location - very strategic. Near the harbour as well. Idea for boat trips.
